Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
Rotom-Wash @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 40 Def / 216 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Defog
- Pain Split / Will-O-Wisp
- Volt Switch
I find it a very cool Chandelure partner as Chandelure loves pivoting support in order to get into the field and breaking through opposite teams. It also brings Hazard removal and a check to Mamoswine & Sand Rush Drill so yeah, cool Chandy partner :3.
Tapu Bulu @ Life Orb
Ability: Grassy Surge
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Horn Leech
- Stone Edge
- Zen Headbutt
A super powerful wallbreaker right now, Chandelure appreacties it's ability to switch into almost every Ground and Water-type we have and pressure them. Grassy Terrain support is also super duper neat since that extra healing for Chandy can be crucial!
Swampert @ Leftovers
Ability: Damp
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Stealth Rock
- Flip Turn
- Earthquake
- Scald
Swampert is able to comfortably deal with the ground and rock types that threaten Chandelure such as Krookodile, Excadrill, Diggersby, and Rhyperior, among others. In turn, Chandelure can beat threatening grass types such as Tapu Bulu, Tangrowth, and Amoongus. Swampert provides Stealth Rock support for the team and a useful move in Flip Turn, which helps keep momentum and pressure on the opponent. Chandelure really appreciates Flip Turn support as it can be hard to safely bring Chandelure in due to its poor defensive typing and stats.
The voting system used is the Ranked Pairs format (the same as CAP uses). To vote you basically order your options like this: C>B>A>D, like this A>B=C>D, or like this D>C, assuming there are 4 partner options (A, B, C, and D). If you choose not to vote for all partners, the last partner(s) will be assumed to be last and valued equally if more than one got left out. Additionally, don't vote for your own submission. If you have any questions, by all means, ask me.
Well, now that we have mien on the team we might as well say screw it and add another regen mon! Tang gives us a solid Conk answer, Drill and Mien answer while being able to Knock stuff off and cripple the opponents. I've honestly found the last slot pretty customisable lately, with Synthesis letting you completely wall Conkeldurr as it chips itself down, Sleep Powder is great for teammates that can take advantage of a sleeping opponent and set up, and Leech Seed lets it be a general annoyance by gaining HP and chipping opponents down.
We have a strong offensive core built, so now let's start building our defensive core. RestTalk Primarina has a lot of synergy with both Chandy and Shao, being able to switch in on stuff like Keldeo, Hydriegon, Krookodile, and non-TBolt Latias that threaten these mons while Chandy and Shao deal with mons like Amoonguss and Chansey that force Prim out. It acts as a status sponge with its RestTalk combo, which is great as both Chandy and Shao are prone to getting worn down by Toxic. Prim is just a generally great glue mon and a solid partner for offensive mons such as these two :)
@ Colbur Berry
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 240 Def / 16 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Psychic
- Slack Off
- Teleport
Slowking helps pivot both of these pokemon in, spread burns to power up hex against pokemon such as nihilego, and tentacruel that are immune to toxic. Burns help wear down would be checks/counters to mienshao such as phys def tangrowth, amoonguss, and salamence. These pokemon also appreciate slowking's ability to switch into keldeo, latias, and salamence, while shao and chandelure can help against tapu bulu, NP hydreigon, tangrowth, and moltres-g.
Amoonguss @ Rocky Helmet/No Item
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 220 Def / 36 SpD
Bold Nature
- Spore
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb
- Foul Play
Amoonguss is a solid defensive pokemon with useful utility in Spore and Regenerator. It can check many attackers including Azumarill, Excadrill, Mienshao, Zarude, and even some special attackers such as Primarina and Keldeo. Chandelure and Amoonguss make an interesting combo as Chandelure can get flash fire boosts from fire moves that threaten Amoongus and Spore gives Chandelure more opportunities to use Hex. The only use of no item here is being able to live a +6 Knock Off from Azumarill, however I feel we should stick to Rocky Helmet for now if this mon is decided as Rocky Helmet chip is really nice for all other matchups. If this ends up being a very azu weak team then no item can be considered later on.
Ummm.... I completly forgot about this yesterday but voting is now up.
