reservin' tang man once again!

:bw/tangrowth:

Tangrowth @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- Giga Drain
- Knock Off
- Sludge Bomb
- Synthesis

Tang gives us a solid Conk answer, Drill and Mien answer while being able to Knock stuff off and cripple the opponents. I've honestly found the last slot pretty customisable lately, but Synthesis is best due to letting you completely wall Conkeldurr as it chips itself down and giving it solid reliable recovery.

Krookodile @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Knock Off
- Stealth Rock
- Toxic

Krookodile helps this team as it can cover slowking's dark, electric, and can help against physical attacks. It can also help spread poisons to opponents to help for hex chandy on pokemon like mandibuzz, hydreigon, and swampert. Intimidate also helps to get in mienshao and chandelure on weak attacks

Mandibuzz @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Overcoat
EVs: 248 HP / 164 SpD / 96 Spe
Careful Nature
- Defog
- Knock Off
- U-turn
- Roost

Mandibuzz fills a lot of holes for this team. It acts as a hazard remover, which keeps Chandy and Shao around for longer, is a slow pivot, which helps Chandy and Shao come in, and it forms a Fighting/Psychic/Dark core with Mienshao and Slowking. It also acts as a check to many of the team's threats, dealing with Hydriegon for Chandy and Slowking and non-Tbolt Latias for Mienshao.

Its time to role compress
:ss/excadrill:
Excadrill @ Leftovers
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Iron Head
- Stealth Rock
- Toxic

Yea utility drill isn't that creative I get it but it works p good in this team. As is the team struggles switching around aegis and hydra and still lacks a rocker and checks to other stuff like rotoms and the kisser. Excadrill compresses all of that en un Pokemon, It also easily spreads Toxic damage against Mandibuzz, Krook and Mence which makes Chandy breaking much more easy. We can afford to drop rapid spin in here cus the team doesn't really look hurt by SR that much.

Banned deucer.
Zarude @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Leaf Guard
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Power Whip
- Darkest Lariat
- U-turn
- Jungle Healing

It completes a Fire Water Grass core which is also a Ghost Psychic Dark core. Keeps up the pivoting, generally good stats, and hints that hazard control may not be necessary with so many Boots users plus a Mienshao.

If you pick Zarude the next two slots will be challenging but I think rewarding to go through.

Edit: I realize ghost psychic dark cores aren’t really a thing actually tbh...but if you vote for this set it could become a thing!

Skarmory @ Rocky Helmet / Safety Goggles
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 160 Def / 96 Spe
Bold Nature
- Spikes
- Body Press
- Roost
- Brave Bird

Skarmory brings a check to a LOT of potential threats to the core (Conk, Krook, Exca, Dada, Gyara, Mence), sets Spikes up that Mienshao just loves and can switch into the grass types unlike chandelure. It also appreciates having Slowking + Chandelure taking care of stuff like Hatterene, opposing Slowkings and Celesteela

Late again but whatever

The voting system used is the Ranked Pairs format (the same as CAP uses). To vote you basically order your options like this: C>B>A>D, like this A>B=C>D, or like this D>C, assuming there are 4 partner options (A, B, C, and D). If you choose not to vote for all partners, the last partner(s) will be assumed to be last and valued equally if more than one got left out. Additionally, don't vote for your own submission. If you have any questions, by all means, ask me.

Well Slowking loves to use skarmory to be able to have something to pivot to on grass types, and many physical pokemon like krookodile, mienshao, and tapu bulu. Skarmory lays spikes which pressures the opponent and allows mienshao, chandelure, and zarude to go ham on the opponents as would be counters/checks like tangrowth, amoonguss, and umbreon cannot stave off the hits forever especially with hazard cutting into them

Salamence @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

yeah ik Mence is kinda cheeks rn but it offers a lot of good things to the team. It's immune to Ground which helps the team out a lot against Excadrill and it also outspeeds both Hydriegon and Kommo-o and can take them out which is also a great thing for this team.

Note to self and reminder for other submissions

We (probably) need:

Rocks
Probably a Ground type or Volt immunity
Better Ground resist and a Dragon resist
Hydreigon response

Will edit this with a mon later

Edit:

jiggy piggy (Mamoswine) @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Oblivious
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Icicle Crash
- Earthquake
- Ice Shard
- Stealth Rock

So it fulfills most of the above plus has HDB over standard Life Orb/Sash because we have no hazard control at this point. We already have Knock Off on el Mienshao and can't fit it here because we need Rocks.

You have 5 days to come up with the final member of the team

:Weezing-Galar: @ Black Sludge
Ability: Neutralizing Gas
EVs: 252 HP / 120 Def / 136 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Strange Steam
- Pain Split
- Will-O-Wisp
- Defog

This compress defog, a dragon immunity, hydeigon counterplay, a way to force progress by blocking regenerator, and a conk counter. We really are in deep shit vs hydreigon so this provides some breathing room vs NP 2 attacks set while also being able to take dragon attacks from noivern, kommo-o, and salamence while being able to force them out. Defog gives us breathing room vs skarmory/roserade hazard stack, this also gives us a way to spread even more status so chandelure can go to town on pokemon while also helping wear them down. While I believe the ground MU is rough... its managable via pivoting slowking on excadrill as its phys def, zarude on krookodile as mainly run dual stabs + toxic which can be healed off, mamoswine can be dealt with offensive pressure from our team as we give it little breathing room to switch in, rhyperior and swampert are defensive pokemon that are abused by the offensive nature of pokemon that can force progress on it via knock, toxic, or powerful attacks in general, and nidoking is given little switchs ins and slowking can check it in a pinch.
