Hello, everyone! We're pleased to announce the start of a brand new project in the UU Forums! Welcome to ArcheTYPE Cores!
Cores are a conjunction of Pokemon or types that have great synergy together, be it offensive or defensive. Some well-known cores are Fire-Water-Grass (FWG), Psychic-Dark-Fighting (PDF), and Steel-Dragon-Fairy (SDF). These cores are capable of handling each other's weaknesses and wear down each other's resistances well and thus are commonly seen together. The project will be mostly focused on type affiliations and type synergy rather than matchups against specific Pokemon (e.g. "Amoonguss switches into Fighting-type attacks" rather than "Amoonguss switches into Keldeo").
How does it work?
Every week we will submit a three-type core for you to build with. Keep in mind that we will try to make the types as synergetic as possible, but some will be more than others. We may also ask for you to build an offensive, defensive, or balanced core including said types! Pay attention when we do!
Submit your cores! You will have four days to do so. Starting from Wednesday and ending on Sunday.
After the submission cycle has passed, voting for the best cores will take place on Monday and Tuesday. Everyone is allowed 2 votes, but you may not vote for the same person twice. For the case that only 5 cores were submitted, everyone can only vote for 1 core.
What are the rules?
Your core MUST have all three types chosen for that week and it MUST have 3 different Pokemon
Pokemon in your core may share a type as long as they represent that week's types.
For example, if the weekly core is Fire/Water/Grass, you may use
as long as Chandelure represents your core's Fire-type and Volcanion represents the core's Water-type.
You may only post one core per week.
Your core will be disqualified if it is the same or too similar to someone else's core.
You may reserve cores as long as you submit them under 48h of your reservation. Otherwise they will be announced as up for reservation.
You must explain how your core works and why it is a good core. 3-5 lines are ideal.
Prove to us that your core works. Replays and functioning teams are a great way to show that.
ResourcesYou may use the skeleton below to structure your posts if you wish to. Just make sure your post is clear and easily readable.
Code:
[hide=Core]
:xy/pokemon1: :xy/pokemon2: :xy/pokemon3:
[hide=Sets]
copypaste your core's sets here

[hide=Description]
Explain here why your core is good, why we should use it, etc

To insert mini sprites of a Pokemon, use
So for example, if we use
We'd get
If you like using the Generation 8 minisprites like these
, you can use this site: https://fulllifegames.com/Tools/SpriteConverter/. Make sure to spell the Pokémon's name capitalized and then just choose the Sprites option. The sprite already comes out in BBCode form, you just need to copy and paste.
For a Pokemon's sprite, you can use the following code depending on what sprite you want:
For example, if we use

Gen 7 and 8 Pokemon also work with the :xy/pokemon: code
