[SET COMMENTS]
Seismitoad is all about role compression— its immunity to Water- and Electric-type attacks alongside its access to Stealth Rock and Toxic makes it a great defensive pivot to threats such as Dracovish, Rotom-W, and Rotom-H. Scald is Seismitoad's primary attack to prevent it from being too passive versus physical attackers that could otherwise switch in and attempt to set up on Seismitoad such as Substitute Gyarados. Earthquake is slightly preferred over Earth Power, since it does more damage to Tyranitar while still providing another STAB option. Toxic allows Seismitoad to cripple other bulky Water-types such as Jellicent and Gastrodon as well as Mandibuzz, which can threaten to remove Stealth Rock with Defog.
Keeping Toxic Spikes off the field is important for Seismitoad to absorb incoming threats reliably. Excadrill is a great spinner that appreciates Seismitoad's ability to switch into most bulky Water-types without many issues while crippling them with Toxic. Excadrill can also be paired with Tyranitar, forming a potent sand core with Seismitoad. Mandibuzz and Corviknight are also options that can clear Toxic Spikes with Defog. Clefable is a great partner thanks to its ability to provide Wish support and prevent Hydreigon from setting up too freely. Seismitoad's use of Stealth Rock also frees Clefable to use Thunder Wave to cripple switch-ins or a coverage move to prevent it from being too passive.

[SET COMMENTS]
Seismitoad has a few niches for rain archetypes thanks to its access to Stealth Rock and its Ground typing blocking Rotom-W and Rotom-H's Volt Switch. Hydro Pump is Seismitoad's strongest STAB move and should be used under most circumstances such as against Togekiss and Corviknight. Earth Power will hit opposing Seismitoad and Toxapex with 100% accuracy. Focus Blast dents Ferrothorn, which is a common nuisance for a lot of rain archetypes, as well as Hydreigon. A Modest nature with Life Orb gives Seismitoad the most power possible, OHKOing Hydreigon with Focus Blast after Stealth Rock most of the time. Modest also lets Seismitoad 2HKO Mandibuzz most of the time with Hydro Pump in rain. During rain, Seismitoad will outspeed Choice Scarf Galarian Darmanitan and Jolly Excadrill after using Rapid Spin.
Seismitoad is mostly used as a supporter and not as an offensive sweeper. Thanks to Drizzle and U-turn, Pelipper is essential to rain teams, which this Seismitoad set fits on. Ferrothorn is a nice compliment to rain teams, since it can take boosted Water-type attacks and supply rain teams with Spikes support. Dreadnaw, Barraskewda, and Dracovish are great options to provide rain teams with extra wallbreaking power. Gyarados can be a dangerous setup sweeper for a lot of rain teams, since it is fairly self-sufficient with Moxie and Max Airstream while also appreciating Stealth Rock support from Seismitoad.
