Tinted Lens Sets go HARD, typing makes revenge killing hard, but definitely not impossible, Speed Boost sets are weird, cuz most pokemon wall em

Stats: 72/41/61/75/41/100

*Aerial Shock: when the pokemon uses an attacking flying move, the target gets hit with the move [shock wave] right after.
Stats: 97/66/86/100/66/100
New moves: Poison Fang, Fly
Removed moves: none
Flavor: Yanmega-Ancient's shock waves were much stronger back in the days, which they make use to damage their prey before inevitably biting their heads off.
Role: Fast special attacker.

Typing: Grass/Ghost
Abilitiy: Long Reach/Aftermath/Cursed Body
Stats: 65/75/105/80/60/50
New moves: Spirit Shackle, Shadow Punch, Shadow Ball, Night Shade, Horn Leech

Abilitiy: Long Reach/Aftermath/Cursed Body
Stats: 95/105/125/80/80/50
New moves: Spirit Shackle, Shadow Punch, Shadow Ball, Night Shade, Horn Leech
Removed moves: N/A
Flavor: The vines it possessed grew longer and larger, hence its "body" grew entirely. It is said that once the vines have rotten, the spirit will leave to find another home.
Role: Physical attacker, physical tank, trapper.

Pokémon: Yanmega-Mooneye :yanmega:
Typing:

Abilities: Levitate/Tinted Lens (Night Sight*/HA)
*Night Sight: This pokémon's moves with a chance to miss have 1.2x power.
Stats: 81 | 96 | 82 | 100 | 56 | 100 | Total: 515

New Moves: Bite, Crunch, Sucker Punch, Shadow Sneak, Skitter Smack, Night Daze, Moonblast, Dark Pulse, Moonlight Focus Blast, Fury Cutter, Snarl. (+11)
Removed Moves: Ancient Power (-1)

Role: Glass cannon, mixed attacker.
Flavor: Yanmega used to be more apt to nocturnal hunting, with a darker coloration and night vision, at the cost of having poor eyesight when it's bright.

Pokémon: Yanma-Mooneye :yanma:
Typing:

Abilities: Levitate/Tinted Lens (Hustle/HA)
Stats: 65 | 65 | 45 | 85 | 45 | 85 | Total: 390

New Moves: Bite, Crunch, Snarl, Dark Pulse, Fury Cutter, Skitter Smack, Moonlight. (+7)
Removed Moves: Ancient Powe. (-1)

Roles: Pretty much the same as Yanmega but even glassier.
Flavor: In ancient times, Yanma was pretty much blind due to the harsh sunlight, so it adapted to be active during nightime. The excess of moonlight allows it to grow it's height signifcantly. Evolves after reacting to a Moon Stone.

Ability: Tinted Lens/Speed Boost
Stats: 91/116/88/60/50/106
New Moves: Dual Wingbeat, U-Turn, Outrage, Skitter Smack,Superpower
Removed Moves: None
Role: Fast physical attacker who can come in break the opponents team and when things get tough pivot out with a strong U-turn
Flavor: In ancient times the abundance of oxygen resulted in a type of dragonfly species called the Griffinfly which was like the dragonfly except it was much bigger, stronger and faster. The Griffinfly pretty much ruled the air before birds came along so I wanted to give Yanmega a form based on its awesome real life ancestor, I made it a physical attacker to reflect its stronger physique back in the carboniferous era.

Removed Moves: Ancient Power, Hypnosis
“This brutish Pokemon will claim an entire swamp as its domain. It does not tolerate trespassers, attacking with fangs that tear apart its victim's spirit.”
Role: Why is this abominable arthropod Fairy-type? Because Yanmega is the Ogre Darner Pokemon. And what are ogres, if not big smelly fairies?

Grendel Yanmega serves the role of a utility wallbreaker. Tinted Lens shores up its poor STAB combo, low BP attacks, and lack of coverage; giving it just enough offensive presence to be threatening. As for utility; Yanmega can set Spikes, deny enemy status with Taunt and pivot out with U-Turn. Lunge and Spirit Break allow Yanmega to weaken attackers on both sides of the offensive spectrum. Prankster is another alternative, though Yanmega’s damage output gets a lot weaker without Tinted Lens.

Abilities: Poison Point / Hydration | Triage
Stats: 100 HP / 100 Atk / 110 Def / 110 SpA / 50 SpD / 65 Spe / 535 BST

New Moves: Gastro Acid, Moonlight, Venom Drain, Venoshock
Removed Moves: Ancient Power, Morning Sun, Swords Dance
“Disguising itself as a fruit-bearing bush, it lashes at unsuspecting prey with poison-tipped vines. The fruit it grows seeps an incredibly acidic juice, which causes skin to rash.”
Role: Ancient Tangrowth packs great resistances and physical bulk, allowing it to switch into threats such as Kabutops and Armaldo. Its claim to fame however is Triage, which turns Giga Drain and Venom Drain into extremely powerful tools to revenge-kill Kabutops, Carracosta, Archeops, and Aurorus. As Triage grants +3 priority, Tangrowth is able to outpace Kabutops' Aqua Jet and Carracosta's Sucker Punch with its affected attacks.

With its vast coverage, Tangrowth is able to run a variety of sets. Physically offensive with Venom Drain, Power Whip, Earthquake, Rock Slide, and Knock Off, specially offensive with Giga Drain, Sludge Bomb, Focus Blast, and HP Fire, mixed offensive, physically defensive with Leftovers, and specially defensive with Assault Vest.

However with Synthesis only being 8 PP (and ha no reliable recovery if Assault Vest) Tangrowth is reliant on Giga Drain and Venom Drain to keep itself healthy, meaning it can get worn down quickly if it's switched-into attacks repeatedly. Weaknesses to Ice and Flying leaves it struggling against Aerodactyl if its Assault Vest or against Archeops and Aurorus if its physically defensive.

Removed Moves: Ancient Power, Dig, Fissure, Rock Slide, Rock Tomb, Sandstorm, Sand Tomb, Stomping Tantrum, Stone Edge, Water Gun
“Its shell has grown to ginormous size. By launching a harpoon-like stinger hidden inside its shell, it pumps burning-hot venom into fish Pokémon and would-be predators before reeling them in for lunch.”
Role: With a plethora of resistances, access to Recover, immunity to being burned and poisoned, and immunity to Water through Storm Drain; Gastrodon-P acts as an excellent defensive check to many of the meta's attackers. Curse also allows it to act as bulky wincon.

Aside from walling Omastar and Kabutops, Gastrodon-P notably walls Mamoswine, eating even a Banded Adamant Knock Off and able to heal off the damage with Recover. Gastrodon-P is also a great choice against Bastiodon, who cannot do much back and easily dies to Lava Plume.

However Gastrodon-P's kryptonite to Ground leaves it dropping dead to Aurorus' Earth Power and Armaldo's Earthquake, two Pokémon it would otherwise love to be able to handle. Weakness to Rock also means it's easily worn down by Stealth Rock and is prey to Aerodactyl.

Removed Moves: Ancient Power, Dig, Fissure, Rock Slide, Rock Tomb, Sandstorm, Sand Tomb, Stomping Tantrum, Stone Edge, Water Gun
“This graceful swimmer produces an intensely-hot mucus to combat the cold in deeper waters. This mucus also scorches the mouths of any predators that try to take a bite out of it.”
Role: Gastrodon-B's blistering Speed makes it the third fastest Pokémon in the meta, this in tandem with its unique STAB combination and coverage moves makes it a strong special wallbreaker. Its resistances along with Storm Drain gives it a good amount of leeway for switching-in, capable of entering on attacks such as Kabutops' Liquidation or Aurorus' Blizzard. Gastrodon-B also has decent utility options in Memento, Encore, and Will-O-Wisp.

Gastrodon-B is however married to Heavy-Duty Boots due to its typing, though this can also be seen as a benefit as it is able to use Fire-attacks against Mamoswine unimpeded. Overall though, Gastrodon-B's damage output is weaker than other wallbreakers unless if one is very confident in their ability to keep hazards off the field. Gastrodon-B is also incredibly frail, specifically on the physical side, as it struggles to take even resisted physical hits such as Kabutops' Play Rough or even Mamoswine's Icicle Crash.

New Moves: Acid Armor, Acid Spray, Corrosive Gas, Cross Poison, Gastro Acid, Toxic Thread, Venom Drain, Venoshock, Escape Root
Removed Moves: Morning Sun, Synthesis
Customs: Escape Root: 60 BP Special Grass, 32 PP. User switches out after use.
Role & Description: In the past, Tangrowth was more at risk of being eaten with the large, dangerous herbivores running around, so it developed a strong toxin to dissuade predators. This faded over time as it became less at risk. Physical wall that packs a punch. Cool defensive typing in the current meta, with lots of great utility and multiple nice defensive abilities. Also a Tar Pit abuser that isn't busted. Also also shamelessly stole the custom from another mod :sunglasses:

Abilities: Ubiquitous
Stats: 85 / 105 / 60 / 50 / 70 / 105
New Moves: Bulk Up, Calm Mind, Dazzling Gleam, Draining Kiss, Moonblast, Play Rough, Ecosystem
Removed Moves: N/A
Customs: Ubiquitous: If this Pokemon's Defense is higher than its Special Defense, it changes form to Gastrodon-Sedentary.
Ecosystem: Fails if not used by Gastrodon. If Predatory, 120 BP Physical Fairy, 8 PP, Contact. 1/3 recoil, this Pokemon restores 1/3 of its max HP at the end of the next turn. If Sedentary, 90 BP Special Ground, 8 PP. Heal Bell effect (doesn't activate if move fails or is blocked).
Role & Description: A strong protector of the world's oceans. Whenever life was in full bloom, it stayed in this form and worked to keep population explosions of smaller Pokemon in check by predating them. Strong physical attacker with a ridiculously powerful tool in Ecosystem, hindered by only having Bulk Up for setup, and generally low bulk.

:dp/gastrodon:
Typing:

Abilities: Ubiquitous
Stats: 70 / 50 / 105 / 105 / 85 / 60
New Moves: same as Predatory
Removed Moves: N/A
Role & Description: When the world's oceans shrank and food became more scarce, it took on this form. A filter feeder by nature, it was a pacifist, and only fought when protecting those weaker than it. Great physical wall, though its ability means it can't really run Special Defense investment (which is an important part of balancing a fairly fat Fairy/Ground with offensive Heal Bell and reliable recovery). Calm Mind sets still go very hard, and it is certainly a welcome addition to the tier.

gonna try to speedrun the others, we'll see how i do

New Moves: Calm Mind
Removed Moves: N/A

Role: Physically Frail special sweeper, pretty fast, has calm mind now. Weak to 6 types but its stab hits 5 types supereffectively, could be a good glass cannon. Can also run a specs set.

Flavor : Yanmega - Hypnotist waits for its prey to look into its eyes so it can use its psychic abilities to hypnotize them, bringing them to its den so it and its family can eat.

Typing: Grass/Water
Abilities: Regenerator / Powerful Grip (Trapping Moves deal have 1.5 times more BP. This does not apply to the DOT effect from moves like whirlpool)

New Moves: Tangled Up (60 BP, If hit opponent cannot switch out while Tangrowth is still on the field, debuffs speed by 1 level on opposing pokemon, Grass type. Physical) Liquidation, Ice Punch
Removed Moves: None

Role: Physical Wall, super weak to fire, could use assault vest since it has good phys attack and could use the sp.DEF buff. Is only weak to 3 types, and resists ground, which means it can tank eqs. STAB is effective on everything except grass and dragon.

Flavor: This plant lives in the water and lies in wait for aquatic pokemon so it can grab them and consume them.

New Moves: Work Up, Power Whip, Synthesis, Grass Knot, Leaf Blade, Energy Ball
Removed Moves: N/A

Role: Mixed attacker. STAB hits supereffectively on 7 types. 4 types are super effective against it. Very slow.

Flavor: This Pokemon coexists with smaller grass type Pokemon such as Tangela which ride its back, giving it camouflage in grass it can use to hunt prey. In exchange, it gives the Tangela protection.

New Moves: Outrage, Dragon Claw, Dual Wingbeat, Acrobatics, Brave Bird, Dragon Rush
Removed Moves: none
Flavor: This is based on the giant dragonflies called meganeura who lived during the Carboniferous, and this is why I added dragon type. They were predatory, and they were only eating insects, so I kept the flying type.

Reworked Fakemon: Gastrodon-Armoured
Typing: Steel / Poison
Abilities: Liquid Ooze / Corrosion / Shell Armour
Stats: 111/63/98/82/92/29 (475 BST)

New Moves (if any): Flash Cannon, Iron Defence, Steel Beam, Withdraw, Flip Turn

With an amazing typing in Steel/Poison and access to Corrosion, Gastrodon-Armoured is too powerful of a stallbreaker in its current state. The easiest way to fix it would be to remove Corrosion.

Typing: Bug / Ground
Abilities: Levitate / Tinted Lens

Removed Moves (if any):
Turns out giving Yanmega 1 (one) viable STAB is one too many lol. But in all seriousness, a Tinted Lens Bug/Ground type is very concerning, and would be very constricting on teambuilding (essentially forcing a Flying type on every team). The easiest fix is to replace Tinted Lens, but if you really want to keep it, Yanmega's Special Attack will have to be lowered to somewhere around 100.
:bw/yanmega:
Pokémon: Yanmega-Fan
Typing:

Abilities: Speed Boost / Tinted Lens / Aerilate (HA)
Stats: 91/106/91/86/66/75 (515 BST)
New Moves: Flash Cannon, Iron Head, Coil, Calm Mind, Hurricane, Spikes, Work Up.
Bug/Steel is a very volatile typing to work with in a Tar Pit meta, and unfortunately this abuses it too well. Even beyond Tar Pit, pseudo-DD with a good defensive typing and reasonable bulk are somewhat concerning, but the main issue is its Tar Pit interaction. Yanmega-Fan's typing will need to be changed, as any other changes would have to be extremely drastic and still might leave the mon broken.

Typing: Bug/Flying
Abilitiy: Huge Power/Aerial Shock/Carboniferous
*Aerial Shock: when the pokemon uses an attacking flying move, the target gets hit with the move [shock wave] right after.

Stats: 97/66/86/100/66/100
New moves: Poison Fang, Fly
Removed moves: none
While on their own, each of these abilities are not a problem on this mon, it's the three of them together that cause issues to arise. With three extremely viable abilities, the potential to run either physical or special sets, and completely different defensive answers for every ability, the lack of predictability makes this too much for the tier. Council recommends replacing at least one but preferably two of these abilities with less volatile counterparts.

New Moves: Anchor Shot/Tangled Up (60 BP, If hit opponent cannot switch out while Tangrowth is still on the field, debuffs speed by 1 level on opposing pokemon, Grass type.)
Removed Moves: N/A
Grass/Steel typing, Regenerator, Synthesis, and insane bulk make this far too much for the meta. Additionally, its BST is different from base Tangrowth's (535). The Steel typing will need to be removed or changed for any chance at a balanced submission, and it needs 20 more BST.

Hate to do this to you on your first time submitting, but both of these have the same problem, which are their custom abilities. Poisonous Shell is quite literally better Poison Point, and due to the wording of the ability, it would activate even when the move itself doesn't connect, which is problematic in tandem with moves like Protect. An easy fix would be to replace the ability with Poison Point, but otherwise I would recommend having the ability activate "when another Pokemon makes contact with this one". Meanwhile, Camouflage isn't necessarily broken, but as a whole it is uncompetitive, and Bright Powder Camouflage sets aren't something council wants to see in the meta, so a complete rework of the ability is necessary.

Yanmega-Ancient
Typing: Flying / Dragon
Abilities: Hyper Cutter / Tinted Lens / Compound Eyes
Stats: 86 / 101 / 86 / 66 / 76 / 100

New Moves: Outrage, Dragon Claw, Dragon Dance, Dual Wingbeat, Acrobatics, Brave Bird, Dragon Rush
Removed Moves: none
Dragon/Flying is a strong typing, and when paired with Tinted Lens and Dragon Dance, it becomes too strong to handle. The best bet here is to replace Tinted Lens, but you could also remove Dragon Dance and lower Yanmega's attack to around 90.

Additionally, quite a few submissions have BSTs that are different from their base forms. We'll try to make this more clear in future slates, but as a reminder, non-fossil ancient forms are considered regional variants, and therefore should have the same BST as their base form. If your submission is on this list, please correct its BST before the end of the veto period.
G-Luke's Tangrowth
DuckeryDoodle's Yanmega
DuckeryDoodle's Gastrodon (both forms)
megaspoopy000's Gastrodon-Earthy
Vipotis' Gastrodon-Western
Mercupty's Yanmega
Aqua1272's Yanmega

Pokemon:Yanmega-Griffinfly
Typing:Bug/Flying
All vetos were BST issues LOL... Pay attention to that next regional slate frfr (Vetoed gastrodon forms will get the other one vetoed too because they r voted as a pair)

With that out of the way, let's open voting! Same rules as always.

Also, be sure to check the discord, since we will be having an amazing slate submissions phase, with a major twist :eyes:

VOTING WILL LAST FOR 4 DAYS.
