Most Awe-Inspiring Dish: GreasyXSpoon (GXS) (Chairman's Choice) - While Chef Incognito Style used two of the rather unusual Pokemon in the metagame in the form of Drapion and Hitmonlee, Chef GXS used Perish Song Absol (in base form) which was yet to be witnessed (yes, I haven't made a Perish Song Absol set successful yet), and along with other uncommon sets in Specs Zapdos (with Defog as emergency), Scarf Infernape (because Nasty Plot is a trend nowadays), and Expert Belt Whimsicott.

The team looked quite standard at first glance to a point where some of the members' sets are tweaked to cater for this round. What warrants a fairly average score in this criterion is the annoying Blastoise set you have, and the Curse + Dragon Tail Goodra.​

USE OF INGREDIENT: 4 / 5

While there is a strong use of the secret ingredient in this team, it seems that the team benefits more from Toxic Spikes given its defensive orientation; you could forgo Roar for Toxic Spikes on Nidoqueen (since you have more than the number of phazers required in this team) for phazers like Goodra and Chesnaught to take advantage of.​

EFFECTIVENESS: 7.5 / 10

Undoubtedly, this is one of the better teams this round as this team covers most of the bases for a defensive team, although Curse + Dragon Tail Goodra didn't give any significant work in practice (and it's better to run King Troller's set here). Upon further examination, it seems that Gyarados would rip this team apart especially that you lack Spiky Shield on Chesnaught to respond against Bounce variants. Forgoing Roar for Toxic Spikes on Nidoqueen could be of great help to this team given the defensive orientation of this team, and this is the change worth noting here. Nonetheless, this is the team that would bring a huge success, so well done!​

Among all the things this team has, Goodra stood out as one of the most creative sets ever made. You have literally caught Iron Chefs off guard with Counter, and that warrants you some bonus points for it. As for the rest of the team, you have some uncommon sets such as Substitute + Calm Mind Chandelure and a more defined MixMence set with Outrage--both of which would warrant a considerably good score in this criterion.​

USE OF INGREDIENT: 4 / 5

This is one exemplar of a team using phazing moves on trusted Pokemon instead of slapping those moves to Pokemon who aren't generally doing that role much. Also, you've done a bold move in this team by forgoing Protect in Vaporeon for Roar, which is still viable even while Wish is in your repertoire. You never fail to surprise people with Goodra's phazing role and the surprise Counter to punish those switch-ins from U-turn.​

EFFECTIVENESS: 7 / 10

This is one team that has stellar potential to a point where you may want to consider some things to become more effective. First, have you ever considered running Roost on Salamence over Outrage? Salamence having Roost would boost the longevity of the team; Entei would deem troublesome here especially that Vaporeon doesn't have Protect to heal the damage caused by Sacred Fire. With Roost, Salamence will reliably switch into Fire attacks and Roost any damage taken. You may also want to consider Flame Body on the Substitute + Calm Mind set so as to ruin Porygon2's moment of sponging Fire attacks thanks to Trace. Finally, you may also want to consider Growth on Mega Abomasnow (with Giga Drain, Blizzard, and Ice Shard) to reliably answer Suicune and deal massive damage to other Steel-types even when resisted. Otherwise, this team is solid enough to give you moderate to huge success here.​

BrandonBeast: 13.5 + 2 - 1 = 14.5

This team is decently original in terms of its make-up, especially that you wanted to build around another under-appreciated Pokemon in Articuno. With Metagross holding a Life Orb, with Chesnaught having quite an unorthodox set, and with Salamence using Fire Blast on a Dragon Dance set--all of which are uncommon--this team warrants a decent score in this criterion.​

USE OF INGREDIENT: 4 / 5

Your team made use of the secret ingredient well to a point that it is an integral part of your team. Both Articuno and Chesnaught are solid choices to fulfill those roles very well, and you made them even deadlier through the hazard stacking core you've put in.​

EFFECTIVENESS: 6 / 10

This team has great potential (especially on your win against Iron Chef Euphonos) provided it has the ability to wear down and defeat the opposing team with decent matchup; however, while the team is geared towards defense, there are still a lot of threats that could plow your team outright, such as Mega Absol (as exploited by Iron Chef Manipulative), Infernape, Suicune, and the more uncommon Moltres (as exploited by Iron Chef Euphonos; good thing a Fire Blast miss saved you). While both Metagross and Salamence gave your team some offensive presence, they're not enough to make this team perform well offensively: a healthy Mamoswine would force your Salamence to switch out and give the remaining team members trouble as well. Otherwise, this is one team that would give you moderate success here.​

You have used Drapion and Hitmonlee--both of which haven't definitely seen by the general public before. While the rest of the team being standard fare (barring a Hidden Power Fire from Mega Sceptile), these warrant a considerably decent score in this criterion.​

USE OF INGREDIENT: 3 / 5

You have incorporated the phazers nicely, but not good enough to warrant an above average score in this criterion. Since this team is more focused on using Toxic Spikes, you could have used Substitute Kyurem to take advantage of the residual damage laid out by both Stealth Rock and Toxic Spikes.​

EFFECTIVENESS: 5.5 / 10

This team definitely has a lot of potential given some underrated options, there are a lot of flaws that needs to patch up in order to become effective. For example, upon further examination, Mamoswine would be a huge threat to your team as no Pokemon would switch in on its potent STABs (though it can be checked offensively via Hitmonlee and Kyurem). While you have Specs Kyurem, Sableye would be a huge nuisance to this team as well as Prankster-boosted Will-o-Wisps would shut down all Physical attackers and would wear down Swampert easily. Also, your team lacks a prompt switch-in to Draco Meteors; Hydreigon is the closest you'll ever see as another obstacle you need to tread carefully. Otherwise, this is one team that would give you moderate success here.​

Some sets in this team are rather uncommon to see in the general public, such as Choice Specs Zapdos (which proved that it could be threatening in the match against Iron Chef Hogg), Expert Belt Whimsicott, and Choice Scarfed Infernape. What stood out in his team is the unique use of Perish Song + Pursuit Absol; as such, this team will grant a decent score in this criterion.​

USE OF INGREDIENT: 2.5 / 5

Although you have concept of Perish Song Absol in mind, the splash of VoltTurn in this team is quite counterproductive to the role Swampert and Absol are doing. As much as you value VoltTurn in this team, you didn't give importance to the phazers as much.​

EFFECTIVENESS: 6 / 10

While this team undoubtedly has stellar potential thanks to VoltTurn being a staple, you put yourself in a very difficult position when to use Defog especially you put Choice Specs on Zapdos. Again, with Perish Song Absol in mind, it is extremely difficult to pull off especially with its slow Speed and paper defenses, which is very situational at best. Nonetheless, this is one team that could grant moderate success thanks to the strong VoltTurn core.​

While this team not exactly as creative, what stood out here is the use of Circle Throw Pangoro (quite a twist from quite an uncommon Pokemon); with a very unusual Custap Forretress set, this warrants an average score in this criterion.​

USE OF INGREDIENT: 2.5 / 5

While Nidoqueen and Pangoro could work very well as phazers, you have forgone the offensive capabilities of those Pokemon and the direction of the team seemed too disjointed to incorporate the secret ingredient well.​

EFFECTIVENESS: 3 / 10

Unfortunately, this team wouldn't fit in the metagame. As said, the direction of the team isn't very clear enough (even for a so-called balanced team). It seemed that the team is relatively slow which consequently makes it quite a defensive team with Mega Beedrill, but it didn't work well as planned as even Sableye (as exploited by Iron Chef Hogg) would tear this team apart. Also, if you didn't notice, both Forretress and Nidoqueen lay Toxic Spikes (which are redundant), yet no one in the team lays a key Entry Hazard in the metagame: Stealth Rock. While this is a valiant effort for you to build teams like that, you need to refine your skills both in building solid teams and in battling; might as well enroll in Battling 101 for that.​

This is one secret ingredient suggested by Iron Chef Euphonos with quite a convoluted mechanic before. However, to make it more simpler this episode of Iron Chef, participants are required to feature exactly two Pokemon from the Never-Used tier (NU) and below. While (with all due respect) some pure NU/PU teams work very well against UU teams, the restriction is solely for the purpose of maintaining the standards of a solid UU team while unlocking the potentials of these said Pokemon.

Will the underdogs be able to triumph over its foes? Or will our Iron Chefs stomp these underdogs down? Who will you root for in this episode of Iron Chef?
