  1. Rest, surprisingly reliable

Rest also synergizes well with Natural Cure, Shaymin and Roserade can use it on both offensive and support sets, healing damage taken during set up or from Life Orb recoil.
  2. Deoxys-D

Pursuit weak isn't that big a deal when talking about a wall as bulky as Deo-D. If you predict the pursuit then great, that's another layer of spikes you get up while they shave off 30% off your health. As for Toxic/Taunt, I've been using Magic Coat. Not only does it help you against the...
  3. Hitmontop

I hardly ever see TechniTop anymore, and for good reason. It has terrible 4MSS, is easy to play around, and wears out quickly. Its just not that good. Ok, your sets. I'll be honest they seem very bad to me. The "Pure" Spinner set in particular is absolutely bizarre. 252 attack evs ? Adamant...
  4. np: OU Suspect Testing Round 5 - Sandstorm (Excadrill/Thundurus Banned)

Which means little to nothing, because Excadrill isn't going to be sitting there while you spam BB. Dude, read what your own post. Just below you posted a calc of Excadrill doing about 45% to Skarmory with Rock Slide at +2. That's a big deal when you factor in RS flinch and SR. And I'm talking...
  5. np: OU Suspect Testing Round 5 - Sandstorm (Excadrill/Thundurus Banned)

Its the only way to check Excadrill with Skarmory, as far as I know, and its a pretty unreliable method to check Excadrill with at that because it leaves Skarmory in a vulnerable position that compromises his ability to check Excadrill in the future while Excadrill is mostly unharmed. That's...
  6. np: OU Suspect Testing Round 5 - Sandstorm (Excadrill/Thundurus Banned)

Well of course he always beats him, because apparently all Excadrill run balloon, you always use spikes as he rocks slides and use Whirldwind as he uses swords dance. No of course I'm not saying that because Gliscor can actually threaten Excadrill. Yea no. Skarmory gets shit on while phazing him...
  7. np: OU Suspect Testing Round 5 - Sandstorm (Excadrill/Thundurus Banned)

I call bullshit. Once your opponent discovers you're crazy enough to try and setup on Excadrill with Skarmory its only a matter of time before he sets up another SD as you spike/roost, forcing you to phaze him as he mauls you with a +4 rock slide, assuming you don't get flinch'd in which case...
  8. np: OU Suspect Testing Round 5 - Sandstorm (Excadrill/Thundurus Banned)

Azu sucks, the mach punchers cannot ohko, and Skarmory only delays the inevitable. I will concede that OTR Bronzong is a decent enough check though, but like Azu he has his own problems.
  9. np: OU Suspect Testing Round 5 - Sandstorm (Excadrill/Thundurus Banned)

Lets be honest, this means you either run Gliscor or a weather team. Otherwise you're fighting with an arm tied behind your back.
  10. np: UU Suspect Test Round 2 - Cold As Ice

I wonder if Spiritomb will experience a revival alongside Alakazam.
  11. Sun Discussion Thread

Jumpluff deserves mention as a summoner/support Pokemon. Victrebeel will also dropping into RU once the tier list is updated (he's 170 in Augusts UU stats).
  12. np: UU Suspect Test Round 2 - Cold As Ice

I hear Weavile likes switching in on T-Wave yes/no ?
  13. np: OU Suspect Testing Round 5 - Sandstorm (Excadrill/Thundurus Banned)

We should embrace the weather meta because its here to stay ! Unless we ban it in which case it won't be ! I'm more concerned with having a diverse balanced metagame thats fun than being able to look back on this gen several years from now and going "Hey that was the weather generation hur hur"
  14. np: OU Suspect Testing Round 5 - Sandstorm (Excadrill/Thundurus Banned)

I don't think its accurate to say that Kingdra was the main reason for the SS+Drizzle ban. Kingdra was the single most powerful Swift Swimmer sure, but he was usually used alongside several other very viable swift swimmers that could have easily taken his place if he was banned. It wasn't "ban...
  15. Torkoal Discussion

Better yet, Claydol and Sandslash outshine you as spinners who can set up SR, since they aren't vulnerable to entry hazards and have typings that are much better suited for tanking physical hits.
  16. Venomoth

I'm of the opinion that any set that uses Quiver Dance should have Baton Pass on it as well. Having unresisted coverage with Bug Buzz and Psychic is all well and good, but how often will Psychic or Sludge Bomb will get you past a situation where Tinted Lens Bug Buzz or Sleep Powder wouldn't ?
  17. Yanmega

There's really no excuse not to use U-Turn on the specs set, since tinted lens Bug Buzz and Air Slash alone are enough to mess up anything but the handful of dedicated special walls you should be U-Turning out of anyway.
  18. Torkoal Discussion

Max speed timid Torkoal at +2 is outspeed by all mons at 90 speed and above, which includes metagame all-stars Yanmega, Porygon-Z, and Sharpedo. That's in addition to the likes of Durant, Lilligant, Venomoth, Moltres, Krookodile, Typhlosion, Alakazam, Manectric, Sceptile, Gavuntula and...
  19. Gen V Initial RU

Ok, fair enough, all of those mons technically avoid a 2hko from timid specs Yanmega, assuming they are they are running max hp/sp.d with a boosting nature. But its not difficult at all for a specs Yanmega to push past them with just a little bit of team support (and I'm talking some pretty...
  20. Gen V Initial RU

Uhh, Yanmega is broken as hell. That a piece of crap pokemon like Munchlax is used as much as it is should tip you off to that. And Foxy Grandpa, I'd be interested in hearing who all these Pokemon that wall Yanmega are.
