AAA Zamazenta-Crowned [QC 2/2, GP 1/1]

name: Offensive Tank
move 1: Close Combat
move 2: Behemoth Bash
move 3: Howl / Rest
move 4: Wild Charge / Sleep Talk
item: Rusted Shield
ability: Dauntless Shield
nature: Jolly
evs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Despite having high, well-rounded stats, Zamazenta-C has a very limited movepool and must run Rusted Shield and Dauntless Shield, severely limiting its viability; however, it still carves itself a niche in bulky teams, as its blend of offense and bulk offers a unique check to common wallbreakers like Tapu Koko, Tapu Lele, Zarude, and Terrakion. Furthermore, Rusted Shield cannot be removed, so it is a nice deterrent to Trick users like Azelf and Dhelmise. Its Speed tier also puts it above key threats like Cinderace and Terrakion, making it annoying for offensive teams to handle. Close Combat is Zamazenta-C's strongest STAB move, allowing it to revenge kill Zarude and Terrakion, while also OHKOing Heatran and Blissey. Behemoth Bash notably hits Fairy-types, namely Tapu Koko, Tapu Lele, and Tapu Bulu. Wild Charge is its best option against Water- and Flying-types like Tapu Fini, Toxapex, and Talonflame. Howl is Zamazenta-C's only Attack-boosting move, though its bulk usually allows it to boost multiple times. After one boost, it can 2HKO Swampert and Tapu Fini and OHKO Talonflame and Cinderace. Alternatively, running RestTalk with both STAB moves gives Zamazenta-C a source of recovery while alleviating its low PP thanks to Sleep Talk; this sacrifices its ability to boost or hit Tapu Fini, however. A Jolly nature is preferred so that Cinderace and Talonflame cannot revenge kill it.

Zamazenta-C best fits on bulkier teams in need of a Pokemon to close out games, as it can clean up after its teammates have sufficiently weakened the opposing team. Its combination of bulk, high Speed, and resistance or neutrality to most priority attacks makes it difficult for offensive teams to revenge kill reliably. It appreciates Wish and Heal Bell support on these teams, notably from Vaporeon, allowing it to come in multiple times throughout a game. To further alleviate Zamazenta-C's lack of recovery, teammates that can bring in Zamazenta-C safely are useful, such as Blissey, Jirachi, and Vaporeon; they also invite in Pokemon like Heatran, Terrakion, and Tapu Koko, all of which Zamazenta-C can force out. It also greatly appreciates entry hazards support from setters like Swampert and Garchomp, which let it rack up chip damage on switches that it forces. Furthermore, these setters can threaten Fire-types like Volcarona and Cinderace, as well as Zapdos, which force out Zamazenta-C. Lastly, it appreciates teammates that can wear down Corviknight and Dauntless Shield Mew, such as Zygarde-10% and Pixilate Tapu Koko, so that it can clean up more easily late-game.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
Play Rough allows Zamazenta-C to nail Dragon-types like Kommo-o, though Wild Charge generally sees more use. Ice Fang is another option that is weaker against Dragon-types but also hits Zapdos, Landorus-T, and Garchomp for more damage. Iron Tail over Behemoth Bash offers higher PP but has lower accuracy. Rest + Howl is an option to both threaten offensive foes and set up on passive foes, but it lacks coverage, and the lack of Sleep Talk makes Zamazenta-C very passive when asleep.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Physical Walls**: Mew comfortably sponges any attacks from Zamazenta-C and can threaten it with Will-O-Wisp or pivot into a revenge killer; Intimidate Corviknight can repeatedly switch into Zamazenta-C, even against Wild Charge, and pivot into a revenge killer; and Toxapex can eliminate Howl boosts, stall out Wild Charge, and burn it with Scald. All of them commonly run Rocky Helmet, which chips down Zamazenta-C very quickly.

**Zapdos**: Zapdos resists both of Zamazenta-C's STAB moves, and threatens it with a strong Thunder, which also comes with paralysis chance. However, it has to be aware of Ice Fang, which will 2HKO it after one Howl boost.

**Chip Damage**: It is easy to wear down Zamazenta-C, especially with special attacks. After it has been weakened, faster Pokemon like Tapu Koko and Choice Scarf Azelf can revenge kill it fairly easily. While it can opt to run Rest to stay healthy, doing so greatly hinders its offensive capabilities.

**Fire-types**: Common Fire-types like Volcarona, Cinderace, and Volcanion can all survive a hit and OHKO or severely damage Zamazenta-C in return, though the latter two can be OHKOed if Zamazenta-C is boosted.

Despite having well-rounded high high, well-rounded stats, Zamazenta-C has a very limited movepool and must run Rusted Shield and Dauntless Shield, severely limiting its viability. However; however, it still carves itself a niche in offensive teams, as its titanic bulk allows it to offensively check common wallbreakers like Tapu Koko, Tapu Lele, Zarude, and Terrakion. you're being pretty reductive here - I've seen only once zama in an offensive team and, if it was probably decent, i don't think its optimal (also Terrakion isnt rly worth mentioning for HO, its slow) - it's way better in fat teams/stall that can provide wish/heal bell/are that truly enjoy its ability to check things (even if with Weavile's ban it sucks) - rephrase this Close Combat is Zamazenta-C's strongest STAB move, allowing it to revenge kill Zarude and Terrakion, while also OHKOing Heatran and Blissey. Behemoth Blade is a secondary STAB that notably hits Fairy-types, namely Tapu Koko, Tapu Lele, and Tapu Bulu. Wild Charge is its best option against Water-types and Flying-types like Tapu Fini, Toxapex, and Talonflame. Howl is Zamazenta-C's only boosting move, though and its bulk usually allows it to boost multiple times. After one boost, it is able to 2HKO Corviknight no lol, mention something like Swampert here and Tapu Fini, and OHKO Talonflame and Cinderace. Alternatively, running RestTalk with dual STABs STAB moves gives Zamazenta-C a source of recovery, while alleviating its low PP thanks to Sleep Talk; this sacrifices its ability to boost or hit Tapu Fini, however. The given EVs maximize power and speed Attack and Speed, and Jolly nature is preferred such that Cinderace and Talonflame cannot revenge kill it.

Zamazenta-C best fits on offensive teams in need of a bulky win condition, or a check against priority users like Tapu Lele and Zarude. no - it loves wish support and/ heal bell, fits best on fat when it can clean However, its lack of recovery means it cannot switch into attacks many times, so it should be played aggressively to get the most out of its limited longevity. To alleviate this weakness, teammates that can bring in Zamazenta-C safely are useful, such as Blissey, Corviknight, and Jirachi; they also invite in Pokemon like Heatran, Terrakion, and Tapu Koko, which Zamazenta-C can all force out. It also greatly appreciates entry hazards support, so it can rack up chip damage on switches that it forces; as such, entry hazards setters like Swampert and Garchomp are useful partners. Furthermore, they can switch into strong special attackers like Azelf and Tapu Koko, as well as threaten Cinderace, which all force out Zamazenta-C. Lastly, Vaporeon is a useful but unnecessary partner, as its gargantuan Wishes can help Zamazenta-C stay healthy throughout a game, though it is often a momentum drain if used on offensive teams.

I would rework this, and vaporeon is an excellent teammate imo - heal bell is too. Azelf and Koko doesn't force it out, if u have wish/rest you can just stay in and kill/2hko them - you can mention that it fears burn, pex, things that it cannot ohko (volcarona for example) and that threaten it back, so partners that can wear them down are appreciated, etc

Play Rough allows Zamazenta-C to hit Dragon-types, and notably OHKOs Kommo-o, though Wild Charge generally sees more use. Ice Fang is another option that is weaker against Dragon-types, but also hits Zapdos, Landorus-T, and Garchomp for more damage. Iron Head is an alternative that offers higher PP and a flinch chance over Behemoth Bash, but the higher power is preferred to immediately threaten wallbreakers like Tapu Koko. iron head doesn't work smh, it's changed in BB -> mention Iron Tail. Also mention rest howl on stall/fat teams to avoid burn and still setup against passive foes that cannot ohko it

oh also you should mention that it blocks trick from azelf/dhelmise which is fun

Azelf doesnt threaten it out tbh 252 SpA Azelf Expanding Force (120 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Zamazenta-Crowned in Psychic Terrain: 180-213 (55.3 - 65.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO, i would rather mention Zapdos that Zama cannot threaten with this set.

I would also mention teammates that can weaken corviknight/ds mew for it that can be used in more offensive teams

Play Rough allows Zamazenta-C to hit Dragon-types, and notably OHKOs Kommo-o lol no Zama sucks +1 252+ Atk Zamazenta-Crowned Play Rough vs. +1 252 HP / 252+ Def Kommo-o: 268-316 (75.7 - 89.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery (and you arent even +Atk), just say its its best option ig, though Wild Charge generally sees more use. Ice Fang is another option that is weaker against Dragon-types, but also hits Zapdos, Landorus-T, and Garchomp for more damage. Iron Tail is an alternative that offers higher PP and you missed something here ? or just remove the and but lower accuracy over Behemoth Bash. Rest + Howl can also be used to boost while staying healthy, but it easily falters to more offensive teams. not necessarily tbh, you still have double stab + insane bulk + speed to threaten offensive teams and rest howl to pass through defensive teams. I would say that it lacks coverage and that rest without sleep talk makes it very passive, but insist a little bit on why this set could be good (bc it is, imo)

Checks and Counters

**Special Attackers**: It is easy to weaken Zamazenta-C with strong special attacking Pokemon, such as Azelf, Tapu Koko, and Genesect. These attackers are particularly troublesome as Zamazenta-C cannot OHKO them. I don't like this section that much tbh, Tapu Koko does 0 to Zama and is free setup, azelf does like 50 and doenst like to lose 80% of its health back (bc you cant come on rocks easily after) + zama blocks trick which is annoying, and Genesect doesnt OHKO it and dropps on CC at +1. I would prefer a section chip damage that put it in range of those special attackers, and/or force it to run Rest which makes it more passive without a boosting move. you can also drop this part if u want

**Fire-Types**: Common Fire-types like Volcarona, Cinderace, and Volcanion can all survive a hit and OHKO in fast Cinderace doesn't OHKO unless its Band Dland, so i'd say "OHKO or severely damage it in return" in return, though the latter two can be OHKOed if Zamazenta-C is boosted.

I know I have like no business being here—I just wanted to learn about AAA—but I noticed a small error and figured it was worth pointing it out. That is: Zamazenta doesn’t actually learn Behemoth Blade—that’s Zacian’s signature move. Zamazenta’s upgraded Iron Head is Behemoth Bash.
