Amoonguss @ Black Sludge
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 248 HP / 56 Def / 204 SpD
Calm Nature
- Spore
- Giga Drain
- Hidden Power Fire
- Sludge Bomb

Amoongus is a counter to Serperior able to switchin in on it on leaf storm and withstand +2 hidden power fire , and is then able to pressure it back with Sludge Bomb. Amoongus' Regenerator also helps it from getting chip down easily against Serperior with the constant switches they gotta do.

Heracross @ Heracronite
Ability: Moxie
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Close Combat
- Rock Blast
- Pin Missile

Mega Heracross is a check to Serperior. It hates Glare and has trouble switching in if Serperior gets more than one Leaf Storm boost, but once it does get in, Heracross can OHKO with either Close Combat or Pin Missile. The latter can KO even if Serperior is behind a Substitute.

Offensive:
252+ Atk Heracross-Mega Close Combat vs. 56 HP / 0 Def Serperior: 294-346 (96.3 - 113.4%) -- 75% chance to OHKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ Atk Heracross-Mega Rock Blast (5 hits) vs. 56 HP / 0 Def Serperior: 205-245 (67.2 - 80.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ Atk Heracross-Mega Pin Missile (5 hits) vs. 56 HP / 0 Def Serperior: 610-730 (200 - 239.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Leftovers recovery

Defensive:
200 SpA Serperior Leaf Storm vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Heracross-Mega: 67-79 (22.2 - 26.2%) -- 10.1% chance to 4HKO
200 SpA Serperior Hidden Power Fire vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Heracross-Mega: 84-100 (27.9 - 33.2%) -- guaranteed 4HKO
+2 200 SpA Serperior Leaf Storm vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Heracross-Mega: 133-157 (44.1 - 52.1%) -- 16.4% chance to 2HKO
+2 200 SpA Serperior Hidden Power Fire vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Heracross-Mega: 166-196 (55.1 - 65.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
+4 200 SpA Serperior Leaf Storm vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Heracross-Mega: 200-236 (66.4 - 78.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
+4 200 SpA Serperior Hidden Power Fire vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Heracross-Mega: 248-292 (82.3 - 97%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
+6 200 SpA Serperior Leaf Storm vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Heracross-Mega: 267-314 (88.7 - 104.3%) -- 31.3% chance to OHKO
+6 200 SpA Serperior Hidden Power Fire vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Heracross-Mega: 328-388 (108.9 - 128.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Heart Swap Gear it is

Magearna @ Leftovers
Ability: Soul-Heart
EVs: 248 HP / 28 Def / 232 SpD
IVs: 6 Spe
Calm Nature
- Heart Swap
- Pain Split
- Volt Switch
- Flash Cannon

This specific Magearna is a check to Serperior, as it will dislike eating too many HP Fires and cannot Pain Split a substitute. It comes in and swaps the boosts between the two, effectively disabling Serp’s offensive presence even behind a Sub (as Heart Swap is not affected by Substitute). From there, Magearna can Flash Cannon to chip it / break the sub, Pain Split to regain health or slow-pivot to like a Tornadus who can deal with it. Imo this is one of the better checks to Serp on stall, alongside Kommo-o and Volc, but it works on other teams too.

File:Bag Charizardite Y Sprite.pngCharizard @ Charizardite Y
Ability: Blaze / Drought
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Flamethrower
- Focus Blast
- Solar Beam
- Roost

Mega Charizard Y is a strong check to Serperior. While Charizard takes very little from Serperior's attacks, even at +6, it hates switching into Stealth Rock and taking a paralysis from Glare. However, Charizard is able to Roost off Serperior's attacks bar any hax, and OHKO in return.

+6 200 SpA Serperior Leaf Storm vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Charizard-Mega-Y: 123-145 (41.4 - 48.8%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
+6 200 SpA Serperior Hidden Power Fire vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Charizard-Mega-Y in Sun: 114-135 (38.3 - 45.4%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

WEEK 4

Clefable @ Life Orb
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 80 HP / 252 SpA / 176 Spe
Modest Nature
- Moonblast
- Fire Blast
- Thunderbolt
- Soft-Boiled

Life Orb Clefable is a decent wallbreaker with its numerous coverage moves and decent stats. With Fire Blast and Thunderbolt, Clefable can hit checks that would normally be able to eat up Moonblast with no problem, like Magearna, Toxapex, and Celesteela.
Can you come up with Pokemon that can keep Life Orb Clefable in check?
You have until 22 June, 11 a.m. (GMT +0) for submissions!

Venusaur-Mega @ Venusaurite
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 HP / 168 Def / 68 SpD / 20 Spe
Bold Nature
- Leech Seed
- Sludge Bomb
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Synthesis

Mega-Venusaur is thanks to its ability and typing a good counter to Life Orb Clefable as it takes nothing from its STAB Moonblast, its coverage in Thunderbolt
and Fire Blast is only a 3HKO as ThicK Fat prevents fire and also ice moves to be super effective and reduces the damage Mega-Venusaur would take drastically.
Sludge Bomb in return is a guaranteed 2HKO and spreads out more damage than Clefable is able to heal with its Soft-Boiled HP healing option, resulting that
Clefable won't stay in on Mega-Venusaur in the long run, meanwhile Mega-Venusaur can hit an incoming Teammate from Clefable with either Leech Seed, Sludge Bomb (with a chance to
poison the incoming mon) or Hidden Power Fire. It also has its own recovery option in Synthesis, which makes Mega-Venusaur a great counter to LO Clef.

Calcs:
0 SpA Venusaur-Mega Sludge Bomb vs. 80 HP / 0 SpD Clefable: 254-300 (72.3 - 85.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252+ SpA Life Orb Clefable Moonblast vs. 248 HP / 68 SpD Venusaur-Mega: 71-86 (19.5 - 23.6%) -- 32.9% chance to 4HKO after Stealth Rock
252+ SpA Life Orb Clefable Fire Blast vs. 248 HP / 68 SpD Thick Fat Venusaur-Mega: 112-133 (30.8 - 36.6%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock
252+ SpA Life Orb Clefable Thunderbolt vs. 248 HP / 68 SpD Venusaur-Mega: 45-53 (12.3 - 14.6%) -- possible 6HKO after Stealth Rock

Chansey @ Eviolite
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Bold Nature
- Seismic Toss
- Thunder Wave
- Stealth Rock
- Soft-Boiled

Thunder Wave Chansey is a counter to Life Orb Clefable. It takes next to nothing from Clefable's attacks while being able to paralyze it and go for Seismic Toss to PP stall it from its Soft-Boiled's.

Reserving Steelium Z Heatran

Heatran @ Steelium Z
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Flash Cannon
- Lava Plume / Magma Storm
- Earth Power
- Stealth Rock / Taunt

Offensive Flash Cannon Heatran serves as a solid check to Life Orb Clefable. Naturally, you won't need to use Corkscrew Crash in order to knock Clefable out as all you'd need is the smallest amount of chip damage to guarantee the knock out with Flash Cannon, which is easy to obtain due to Clefable's lack of leftovers. However, Corkscrew Crash is great against Clefable's common partners which include Mega Alakazam, Mega Latios, Tyranitar, Gliscor, Landorus-T, Garchomp, and the rare Hydreigon.

I list offensive Heatran as a check because this set lacks Leftovers and can only come in on Life Orb Thunderbolt two times, but luckily it's immune to Fire Blast and takes nothing from Moonblast although SpA drops are lame.

EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Quiver Dance
- Fire Blast
- Bug Buzz
- Hidden Power Ground

QD Volc uses LO Clef as setup bait and can fucking bust through the types of offensive teams that it's traditionally put on. You can obviously tailor the Volc set based on your team, with some changes like Psychium Z Psychic>HP Ground to smack pex being available, but this is generally really good against most LO Clef offenses.

Excadrill @ Steelium Z
Ability: Sand Rush
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Iron Head
- Rapid Spin

Excadrill is a check to Clefable. While it is 1HKOed by Fire Blast, Excadrill's typing allows it to switch in on Clefable's other moves and KO with Iron Head. It can also set up, but Fire Blast makes doing that somewhat risky.

Offensive:
252 Atk Excadrill Earthquake vs. 80 HP / 0 Def Clefable: 219-258 (62.3 - 73.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 Atk Excadrill Iron Head vs. 80 HP / 0 Def Clefable: 350-414 (99.7 - 117.9%) -- 93.8% chance to OHKO
252 Atk Excadrill Corkscrew Crash (160 BP) vs. 80 HP / 0 Def Clefable: 696-822 (198.2 - 234.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 Atk Excadrill Rapid Spin vs. 80 HP / 0 Def Clefable: 30-36 (8.5 - 10.2%) -- possibly the worst move ever

Defensive:
252+ SpA Life Orb Clefable Moonblast vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Excadrill: 126-149 (34.8 - 41.1%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
252+ SpA Life Orb Clefable Fire Blast vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Excadrill: 393-463 (108.5 - 127.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Camerupt @ Cameruptite
Ability: Magma Armor
EVs: 128 HP / 252 SpA / 128 Spe
Modest Nature
- Fire Blast
- Earth Power
- Nature Power
- Stealth Rock

Mega Camerupt is a hard check to LO Clefable. It is one of a few mons (Rotom-H?) that fully resists Fairy/Fire/Electric coverage, and Moonblast is only a 4HKO on it. In return, Camerupt’s nuclear Fire Blast does 85% minimum, and if the Clef runs CM to be a stallbreaker, it stills 2HKOs with the move. However, lack of recovery, slowness and susceptibility to Clef’s teammates if it mispredicts leaves it as a check, but that should be manageable.
