Project UU Matchmaking v4 - Week 29: - Special Salamence! (Submissions!)

:bw/cobalion:

Cobalion @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Justified
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Close Combat
- Volt Switch
- Stone Edge

Cobalion can synergize well with Special Salamence as Cobalion can absorb Knock Off with Justified, deal with faster threats such as Mienshao, and can lure in its own and gain momentum on them with Volt Switch, Naive is here Cobalion so that Volt Switch can do more damage

Aegislash @ Choice Specs
Ability: Stance Change
EVs: 8 Atk / 248 SpA / 252 Spe
Rash Nature
- Shadow Ball
- Flash Cannon
- Close Combat
- Shadow Sneak

Aegislash is a very effective partner, as it's able to break through things Salamence hates like Slowking with Shadow Ball and check annoying rock and fairy types for the dragon with Flash cannon.
In Exchange, Salamence can outspeed and beats dangerous threaths for Aegislash like Hydreigon and Krookodile.

:slowking:
Slowking @ Heavy-Duty Boots / Colbur Berry
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 240 Def / 16 SpD
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe
- Scald
- Future Sight / Psyshock
- Slack Off
- Teleport

Offensive mence is a fat thing that has no way of regaining momentum if there's something that can flat out counter it, so it appreciates Slowking bringing both Teleport for free ins (especially against stuff like Zarude or Hydreigon Slowking attracts), a solid option for pivoting-out and Future Sight to deter stuff like Nihilego from coming in. Both also form a pretty interesting defensive core that can be easily completed with any grass type, being a great tool for role compression.

Magnezone @ Leftovers
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 40 HP / 216 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Volt Switch
- Flash Cannon
- Thunder Wave
- Discharge

Coverage for fairys, Volt Switch to get Mence in safely, and TWave to slow down scarfers/things that would outspeed.
Did you mean Magneton?

whoops thats my bad i forgot to set teambuilder to UU

Magneton @ Eviolite
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Volt Switch
- Thunder Wave
- Flash Cannon
- Discharge

Resists Fairy and Ice, TWave to slow down faster/scarfed mons, Volt Switch to get Mence in safely, pairs well with Mence's Ground immunity.

Cobalion wins! Onto the first round with me in charge!

Round 30 - Zygarde-10%
:ss/zygarde-10%:

Zygarde-10% @ Choice Band
Ability: Aura Break
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Thousand Arrows
- Extreme Speed
- Outrage
- Superpower / Skitter Smack / Toxic

Zygarde-10% is a great wallbreaker since it has such fantastic Speed and spammable signature move, Thousand Arrows. It being able to break through Celesteela and Skarmory gives it an edge over other wallbreakers like Swords Dance Excadrill. Strong priority in Extreme Speed lets it take out boosted threats and a powerful Outrage can clean up weakened teams. Superpower and Skitter Smack are great coverage options to break through Chansey and Zarude, but Toxic can be an alternative to cripple other bulky Grass-types like Tangrowth and Tapu Bulu. However choosing between either one of those moves leaves it without a way to break through each of them. Moreover its frailty leaves it unable to switch in to many attacks. Who will you partner up with this cell dog? 5 days to vote!

:gs/chansey:
Chansey (F) @ Eviolite
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Seismic Toss
- Soft-Boiled
- Teleport
- Toxic / Stealth Rock / Thunder Wave

Chansey provides an easy way to get Zygarde-10% on the field safely with Teleport and helps to deal with some of its checks, like Primarina and Hatterene. It also has an open final moveslot that can provide a variety of utility options depending on what the team needs.

QUACK ATTACK ( :ss/Sirfetch’d: ) @ Leek
Ability: Scrappy
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Close Combat
- Brave Bird
- Leaf Blade
- First Impression

Grass types are a problem? here is your solution, this breaks through many physical walls with leek crit and cc nuking every neural target while brave bird hits all the grass types for huge amount of damage either they drop or they are unable to check zygarde-10% anymore.

252+ Atk Sirfetch’d Brave Bird vs. 252 HP / 220+ Def Amoonguss: 274-324 (63.4 - 75%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ Atk Sirfetch’d Brave Bird vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Tangrowth: 182-216 (45 - 53.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock
252+ Atk Sirfetch’d Brave Bird vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Zarude: 282-334 (80.3 - 95.1%) -- 50% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock
252+ Atk Sirfetch’d Close Combat vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Umbreon: 408-480 (103.5 - 121.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252+ Atk Sirfetch’d Close Combat vs. 248 HP / 160+ Def Mandibuzz: 168-198 (39.7 - 46.8%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

Jirachi @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP / 224 SpD / 32 Spe
Careful Nature
- Thunder Wave
- U-turn
- Stealth Rock
- Iron Head

Resists Ice, Fairy AND Dragon. Twave to slow down stuff like Keldeo, U-Turn to keep up momentum, Rocks support, and 60% flinch Steel STAB that hits 2 of 3 aforementioned resists SE.

Celesteela

Celesteela @ Leftovers
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
- Heavy Slam
- Leech Seed
- Flamethrower
- Protect

Fairy, Dragon, Ice, Grass? Easy, Celesteela is the answer to all the worries that Zygarde may encounter.
It resists and can get rid of Zygarde's checks such as Tangrowth, Primarina, Zarude...

Here are some interesting calls to consolidate my choice:
0 Atk Celesteela Heavy Slam (120 BP) vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Primarina: 168-198 (55.6 - 65.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
0 SpA Celesteela Flamethrower vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Tangrowth: 236-278 (58.4 - 68.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

While
252 Atk Zarude Darkest Lariat vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Celesteela: 127-151 (31.9 - 37.9%) -- 0.5% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ SpA Primarina Scald vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Celesteela: 102-120 (25.6 - 30.1%) -- 0.4% chance to 4HKO after Leftovers recovery

Celesteela wins, on the the next one

Round 31 - Mamoswine
:ss/mamoswine:
Mamoswine @ Life Orb
Ability: Oblivious
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Icicle Crash
- Earthquake
- Ice Shard
- Knock Off

Mamoswine is a phenomenal wallbreaker in UU, with its STAB combination combined with its high Attack making it incredibly difficult to switch into for both offensive and defensive teams alike. Priority Ice Shard also helps against faster Pokemon like Thundurus, Salamence, and Zarude, and Zygarde-10%. Knock Off also punishes defensive Pokemon that can take its hits like Celesteela and the Rotom formes. However, it has trouble switching on the field due to its poor bulk, bad defensive typing, and mediocre Speed, leaving it a prime target for revenge killers. Who will be the best partner for our resident mammoth? You have 5 days to submit.

:ss/roserade:

Roserade @ Black Sludge
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 112 SpA / 124 SpD / 20 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Energy Ball
- Sludge Bomb
- Spikes
- Synthesis

Roserade pairs excellently with Mamoswine to set Spikes for it to abuse. Mamoswine itself is an excellent abuser of Spikes, hitting very hard and dealing major damage to Spikes-immune Pokemon like Moltres and Thundurus-Therian. Defensively, Roserade is able to soak up Water-type attacks aimed at Mamoswine, and can stick around for a while in a game to lay Spikes multiple times thanks to its good special bulk and recovery via Synthesis.

Salamence @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Hurricane
- Flamethrower
- Roost

Salamence deals with rotom forms and skarmory and allows mamo to switch in freely on sp. def walls like av reuni, slowking, fairy types such as prim, togekiss, and hatt, and can take advantage of worn down teams to clean
