Draft Ursaluna-B

[overview]
**Draft order**: Round 3 onward

**Price range**: 15-16 points

**Overview**: Ursaluna-B is a strong Pokemon that offers great sweeping potential and defensive utility. Its incredibly powerful STAB combination, combined with Mind's Eye, is resisted by very few Pokemon, and its physical defenses make it very difficult to break through. However, Ursaluna-B lacks Speed and Special Defense, allowing many special wallbreakers to easily break through it, and it is a Ground-type that lacks entry hazard options, making it less desirable than alternative Ground-types.

[strategy comments]
Common Roles
========
**Setup sweeper**: With Calm Mind, Ursaluna-B can become a threatening wincon, especially by patching up its weak Special Defense. This set often consists of STAB Attacks—Earth Power, Blood Moon, and Hyper Voice—and Moonlight to maintain longevity. Vacuum Wave is also an option on this set to pick off faster revenge killers such as Weavile or Iron Bundle.

**Wallbreaker**: Rather than setting up, Ursaluna-B can focus on wallbreaking with its strong STAB moves. A wallbreaker set can help enable teammates that need chip damage on specific Pokemon that Ursaluna-B can handle.

**Physical wall**: This set is used to allow Ursaluna-B to eat physical hits from specific opposing Pokemon. Special wallbreakers struggle switching into Ursaluna-B's strong attacks, even with minimal Attack investment. Leftovers is good for longevity, and Rocky Helmet can also be used to punish pivoting.

Common Moves
========
**Primary STAB moves**: Blood Moon, Hyper Voice, Earth Power

**Setup moves**: Calm Mind

**Utility moves**: Moonlight, Roar, Yawn, Substitute

**Coverage**: Moonblast, Vacuum Wave, Focus Blast, Snarl, Body Press

Niche Moves
========
**Endure**: It can be used along with Custap Berry to immediately deal massive damage to a faster Pokemon.

**Fake Tears**: Fake Tears can be used on incoming specially defensive walls to make them either take a strong attack or switch out into something else that does not take Ursaluna-B's attacks as well.

Common Items
========
**Leftovers**: Leftovers is great for longevity, since most physical attacks will be doing very little damage.

**Sitrus Berry**: Sitrus Berry is another longevity option, especially when setting up against special attackers with a Calm Mind set.

**Heavy-Duty Boots**: Heavy-Duty Boots is good against teams with solid entry hazard setters, especially if Ursaluna-B will be switching in and out often.

**Resistance Berry**: Resistance Berries, such as Chople Berry, are good for taking one-time hits from offensive foes that threaten Ursaluna-B.

**Rocky Helmet**: With Ursaluna-B's high Defense, Rocky Helmet is a good option to use against physical threats and pivoters.

Niche Items
========
**Choice Specs**: Choice Specs can allow Ursaluna-B to deal huge amounts of damage to foes, but it forces Ursaluna-B to switch out or use Struggle after using Blood Moon.

**Assault Vest**: Assault Vest can patch up Ursaluna-B's low Special Defense while still allowing Ursaluna-B to function as an offensive threat.

**Mental Herb**: Mental Herb allows Ursaluna-B to avoid the effect from Encore.

**Custap Berry**: Custap Berry can be used alongside Endure to quickly outspeed an opposing Pokemon once.

Tera
========
Ursaluna-B is typically banned from using Tera, and when it is allowed, it is seen as one of the best Tera Captains, comparable to Kingambit and Volcarona. Defensively, it can use types such as Tera Poison and Steel to stop opposing setup sweepers or set up itself more easily. Offensively, Tera Normal and Ground are great for dealing more damage, and Tera Fairy is common for making Moonblast stronger.

Draft Strategy
========
Without Tera, Ursaluna-B should not be the primary Pokemon a team is built around, but it is great at wallbreaking to enable other wincons, taking attacks from threatening physical wallbreakers or being a setup sweeper of its own with the right support. However, it has some glaring weaknesses that can be worked around when combined with the right Pokemon.

**Pivots**: Ursaluna-B shines offensively when it is able to control opposing momentum by forcing switches. Having solid pivots allows Ursaluna-B to easily switch in against Pokemon that struggle against it and lets it immediately become a threat. Good pivoting options include Greninja, Uxie, and Corviknight.

**Special walls**: Ursaluna-B is immediately threatened by specially offensive wallbreakers, so it's important to have a Pokemon that doesn't mind taking incoming special attacks. Some good pairings include Tornadus-T, Galarian Slowking, and Rotom-W.

**Entry hazard setters**: Ursaluna-B is a Ground-type that lacks entry hazards, which is pretty uncommon. This means Pokemon of other types will need to handle hazard setting. Otherwise, if another Ground-type is drafted for hazards, the team will gain some glaring weaknesses. Some non-Ground-type hazard setters include Glimmora, Skarmory, and Hisuian Samurott.

**Phazing**: Ursaluna-B can prove to be a bit of a sitting duck at times, being unable to make progress against bulkier setup sweepers. While it has Roar and Yawn, most Pokemon that will set up on Ursaluna-B are special attackers that make it want to switch out instead. Pokemon that use moves such as Encore or Whirlwind can help threaten those sweepers and regain momentum. Examples include Scream Tail, Tinkaton, and Uxie.

Checks and Counters
========
**Special attackers**: Ursaluna-B's low Special Defense makes it struggle against special attacking wallbreakers and setup sweepers. While many struggle to actively switch into Ursaluna-B, they are able to apply lots of pressure if pivoted in or used as a revenge killer. Examples include Iron Bundle, Chi-Yu, and Serperior.

**Levitate/Flying-types**: Pokemon that are immune to Ursaluna-B's Earth Power, such as Rotom-W, Latias, and Corviknight, can easily take advantage of Blood Moon only being usable every other turn. Air Balloon is also an option on faster Pokemon that can punish Ursaluna-B for using its other attacking moves.

**Chip damage**: Ursaluna-B is a Pokemon that likes to stay in for long periods of time and struggles with taking passive damage over time. Inflicting it with Toxic and wearing it down with entry hazards or other forms of chip damage make Ursaluna-B struggle more against Pokemon that it would typically wall.

Vacuum Wave is also an option on this set to pick off faster revengers, such as Weavile or Iron Bundle. I don't know how to add it in here, but since you mention BM being a breaker elsewhere be sure to specify how it accomplishes that either here or in a separate set.

**Physical Wall**: This set plays as a way to eat physical hits from specific opposing Pokemon. Special wallbreakers struggle switching into Ursaluna-B's strong attacks, even when primarily using defensive EVs with minimal attack investment. Leftovers are good for longevity, but and Rocky Helmet can also be used to punish pivoting.

Tera
========
Ursaluna-B is typically banned from using Tera, and when it is allowed, it is seen as one of the best Tera captains, comparable to Kingambit and Volcarona. Defensively, it can easily change its typing so that it can stop opposing setup sweepers or setup itself more easily. Offensively, STAB Tera types are great for dealing more damage, and Fairy is common for making Moonblast stronger.

Draft Strategy
========
Without Tera, Ursaluna-B should not be the primary Pokemon a team is built around, but it is great at wallbreaking to enable other wincons, taking hits from threatening physical breakers, or being a setup sweeper of its own with the right support. However, It has some glaring weaknesses that can be worked around when combined with the right Pokemon.

**Pivots**: Ursaluna-B shines offensively when it's against a Pokemon that struggles to break through its defenses and wants to switch. I get what you mean, but this wording is a bit confusing. You could word it like Ursaluna-B shines offensively when it is able to control momentum by forcing switches. but how to word this is ultimately up to you Having solid pivots allows Ursaluna-B to easily switch in and immediately become a threat. Good options include Greninja, Ogerpon-W, and Tornadus-T.

**Special Walls**: Ursaluna-B is immediately threatened by specially offensive wallbreakers, so it's important to have a Pokemon that doesn't mind taking incoming special hits. Some good pairings include Tornadus-T, Galarian Slowking, and Rotom-Wash.

**Hazard Setters**: Since Ursaluna-B is a Ground-type that lacks hazard setting, it is important to find hazard setters that do not overlap on typing to avoid major weaknesses on the team. Some non-Ground-type hazard setters include Glimmora, Skarmory, and Hisuian Samurott. Add something to mention that a ground lacking hazard control is pretty uncommon, as most ground-types provide this role to a team, to help explain to players why this specific comment is notable.

**Phazing**: Ursaluna-B can prove to be a bit of a sitting duck at times, being unable to make progress against bulkier setup sweepers. While it has Roar and Yawn itself, most Pokemon that will set up on Ursaluna-B are special attackers that make it want to switch out instead. Phazers that use moves such as Encore or Whirlwind can help threaten those sweepers and regain momentum on the team. Examples include Scream Tail, Tinkaton, and Uxie.

Checks and Counters
========
**Special Attackers**: Ursaluna-B's low Special Defense makes it struggle against special attacking wallbreakers and setup sweepers. Air Balloon is also an option, especially on faster Pokemon that resist its Normal-type attacks. on faster Pokemon that can punish Ursaluna-B for clicking its other attacking moves.

**Toxic**: Ursaluna-B is a Pokemon that likes to stay in for long periods of time, and struggles with taking passive damage. Inflicting it with Toxic, through the move or with Toxic Spikes, makes it struggle more against Pokemon that it would typically wall. This section could probably be changed to chip damage and mention hazards + status, as while it is a special attacker burn is still never appreciated

Overall excellent content wise, just a bit of hard to understand wording and a few potentially missed points. Watch out for run on sentences or sentences with too many commas that can be made a bit more clear to the reader. if you want me to point a few out lemme know
