  • Follow all rules listed here.​
  • Schedule via Smogon VMs. It's easier for me to make decisions for activity calls when I can actually see what went down with scheduling.​
  • If you are unable to schedule with your opponent, please let your managers know ASAP so they can communicate that to me or the other team's managers for a potential substitute.​
  • Substitutions may be made after a week has started. When making a substitution, please tag myself, the managers of the opposing team, and all of the players affected by the substitute to ensure that everyone is made aware. Players who have already played in the week or were subbed out in the same week cannot be subbed back in.​
  • If a match remains incomplete by the time of the deadline, it will be subject to an activity call.​
  • Replays are mandatory. Not only are they useful for confirming wins, they contribute to usage stats and allow the people who couldn't watch the games live to watch them later.​
  • Managers: Please send me your lineups in the same format that I used to post pairings. It makes it much easier to post future rounds more quickly.​

Jester got very close to a W last week, while Vani has actually been getting those W's. Maybe Jester can cook something in the builder that catches Vani offguard. Both teams are unable to make playoffs so that adds some variance too, but still, Vani is the clear favorite.

BigFatMantis vs Amaranth
Battle of two standout performers this UPL. I predict the guy who did not bring Baton Pass last week to win. Most interesting matchup for sure this week.

Mr.378 vs. Conflict
Conflict is one game away from finishing the regular season at 7-0, I do not see him missing it at the last hurdle - unless he brings more PU mons.

Alolan Mukkers (9) vs (3) Manly Melmetal
SV Ubers: Xrn vs Shuwri - bit of a tough one to pick. one thing i can say with certainty is that we'll be seeing only one gg in battle chat when the match is over.
SV Ubers: Manaphy vs LouisIX - i think manaphy is the favoured player here, so long as he doesn't bring timid 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe choice band koraidon.
SV Ubers: Terracotta vs entrocefalo - entrocefalo has not only had an excellent individuals run but also a great run in this tour. terracotta has also been quite strong, though. this could go either way but i think entrocefalo's record precedes him.
SS Ubers: Reje vs Mimikyu Stardust - reje returns to the SS slot to hopefully cash in the accrued luck he is surely owed by the pokemon showdown RNG after upl x. i also think he has a better grasp over SS in general as a consequence of having more experience with the tier.
SM Ubers: Ainzcrad vs Rhmsitb - rhmsitb has had a good run this tour, but he also lost to five pokemon and a pachirisu last week. bolding him more because my five-second attention span precludes me from remembering the last time i saw ainzcrad play SM. honestly, it was probably six seconds ago. misschien zou ainzcrad deze week een dedenne moeten gebruiken om rhmsitb te verslaan.
ORAS Ubers: Seasons vs skimmythegod - after experiencing how it feels like to be in australia for however many minutes last week, i imagine seasons will be the hungrier player here.
BW Ubers: March Fires vs The Dovahneer - with playoffs on the line, tape has moved himself out of SM this week for a reason. i think he's going to be the one to snap dovah's very impressive as-yet undefeated run.
DPP Ubers: Inspirited vs London Beats - when it comes to pokemon, inspirited lives and breathes dpp ubers. the melmetals dpp slot has also struggled a bit this season, so i favour inspirited here. a pretty safe pick into anyone really.
ADV Ubers: iry vs Vileman - vileman is a good overall player, but iry 6-0ed the only undefeated player in the adv pool last week. that makes me favour iry here.
GSC Ubers: BigFatMantis vs Amaranth - amaranth has impressed me more overall. also, i dislike when the baton pass archetype sees use. therefore, i am bolding amaranth.
RBY Ubers: shiloh vs Unowndragon - blitz rby >>>
Bo3: SiTuM vs Inder - australianaurora2 has more SM experience than inder, so i would expect situm to take it if he manages to win either sv or ss. i highly doubt situm will lose in two games.

Void Villains (4) vs (8) Choice Bandits
SV Ubers: SoulWind vs Guard - this is a hard one to pick. soulwind needs no introduction and is currently 4-2, proving once again that he can play pretty much whatever he wants and do well. it should be noted that guard hasn't lost an SV slot match yet, though. this is one to watch.
SV Ubers: Baloor vs Frito - never really seen baloor play sv ubers. frito, on the other hand, is currently positive and will be wanting to keep up what has been the best value-for-money SV performance on the bandits this season, so i'm tipping him to win this one.
SV Ubers: tier vs DAHLI - i am purely speculating here, but dahli will probably be able to put more energy into preparing for this match seeing as it's both a must-win week and ubers open is over. but then, tier has also done alright so far this season. a bit of a toss-up.
SS Ubers: spellcaster vs baconeatinassassin - baconeatinassassin has put in reasonable SS ubers performances across the last couple of upls. bolding him because of the experience factor, as i don't think i've ever seen spellcaster play SS ubers.
SM Ubers: pdt vs oversway - oversway is an old head who has always been a reliable pick for playing SM. pdt did beat tape, which is impressive, but has still been less consistent than oversway this season. could be an upset though.
ORAS Ubers: Royal1604 vs Alkione - the highlight ORAS match of the week. i'm bolding royal because he has a glittering 8-1 ORAS record across the last two upls, whereas i remember alkione for spamming my notifications with @ tag if your stupid last season more than anything else. however, he hasn't lost an ORAS game yet this season, and he is one of two people, along with his opponent, to have beaten keys this upl. should be an interesting one.
BW Ubers: watashi vs MZ - watashi is better than what the sheet suggests. i thought MZ's team choice last week was a bit unusual and i am not sure how far repeating something like that will go here. but who knows. definitely an intriguing match.
DPP Ubers: HANTSUKI vs Highlord - highlord has not lost a single game since he got shranged in week 1. very hard to go against him here.
ADV Ubers: susciety vs FatFighter2 - another tier has been found for ff28k to be randomly slotted into and then emerge with an excellent record. while precedent dictates that he will sign up for upl xii, get put into ADV to begin the season, and then go 0-2 before going undefeated in BW or something, i don't really see him losing this game.
GSC Ubers: Real FV13 vs Isa - i think the way this season has panned out for isa would be stinging a bit. that is why, in a must-win week for the bandits, i am throwing my lot in with one of the cornerstones of GSC Ubers to secure victory. i don't think there will be any upset this week.
RBY Ubers: Torchic vs SaDiSTiCNarwhal - i'm not going to pretend i know what's going on in RBY, but both players seem to have been on fire this upl, torchic slightly moreso. should be a good series to watch though.
Bo3: Garay oak vs Aberforth - aber honestly probably has a slight edge in both SV and SS, so i'm bolding him. i think going 2-0 is actually feasible. i'm definitely not discounting garay, though, who is also an excellent player. if the series goes to SM, which it well could, garay will have the advantage. the highlight bo3 series of the week.

Devastating Dialgas (4) vs (8) DaReal Drizzlers
SV Ubers: Lily vs ox04 - after a rough start, lily has found some form of late. however, ox04 is coming off being on the receiving end of a(n admittedly unlucky) 6-0. maybe i put too much stock in what may be a mythical comeback factor but i think it'll go some lengths to influence the outcome of this game.
SV Ubers: crying vs Dark Shion - cannot say i am too familiar with dark shion. crying is probably the better overall player, though. if we momentarily think of verbs in the english language and not pokemon players, crying is also an activity i frequently partake in, so there's that influencing my prediction too.
SV Ubers: elodin vs Taka - i am still mildly annoyed that taka besmirched my favourite pokemon's upl win ratio. on a more serious note, this is a bit of a tough one to bold. both players have taken out one of the ubers open finalists each this season, which is pretty impressive, but elodin has been slightly more consistent, coming off a shaky early start to the tour to win three straight.
SS Ubers: Sylvi vs lotiasite - loti has probably not had the tour he wanted thus far, but i still pick him to win this one. again, a matter of "who has played more" dictating my choice.
SM Ubers: Sharow vs Zesty43 - zesty will alternate between abdominal muscles to click his moves each turn and come out with the win. i feel like lasen has probably made this joke about a different anatomical area of human musculature already, but i am pleading ignorance so i can make it myself. it's kind of like learning to cook as a kid. you hatch the great idea of pouring pasta into a pot of boiling water and then adding some olive oil, and then you think you're the smartest person ever until your parents inform you that this was thought of several millennia ago.
ORAS Ubers: Sylveon used calm mind vs Melle2402 - i don't really know who sylveon used calm mind is, to be honest (i am a boomer). melle has been around longer and enjoyed more success over a long period of time so i think he is a safe bold.
BW Ubers: Kebabe vs Thor - this is the game i'm most excited for this week. kebabe has been almost unstoppable despite having been gone for a while, but thor is also in great form. definitely one to watch.
DPP Ubers: Beraldo vs shrang - another bold where i'm going off who has more experience with the metagame. i feel shrang has somewhat shed his reputation as someone who spams deoxys-s every game, given my shock and awe that his spreadsheet pokemon isn't a deoxys-s, so i think the extra unpredictability also works in his favour.
ADV Ubers: Heysup vs MMII - mm2 is on fire this tour. he won't finish the regular season undefeated, but i think he'll come as close to it as is possible.
GSC Ubers: Mr.378 vs Conflict - you deserve to go 7-0 if you win a game using the mighty corsola.
RBY Ubers: Ctown6 vs Enigami - enigami has had a rough one, whereas ctown has been strong across the whole tour. pretty good odds he wins again here. going purely off numbers for this one.
Bo3: Fogbound Lake vs Lunala - fog has been off this entire tour, probably cursed by the fact that at some point earlier this season i saw a replay where the nickname "HIP WHIP FOG" was used and i found it so hysterically funny that i appropriated it as my nickname in our team server. hard to go against lunala

Lasen vs Monai:
Bolding Lasen because Monai’s team is out so I think the motivation to push won’t be as much there. I also think Lasen is a good player. I’m expecting some very standard teams in this.

March Fires vs The Dovahneer:
Really wasn’t expecting March Fires to play BW during this tour. Bolding him because the few times I played him he outplayed the shit out of me. Nevertheless Dovah still has the best ratio and should be by default the favorite for this tour at least.

watashi vs MZ:
Last week MZ played super solid, and had a nice team. This is a 50/50 MU but i’ll just follow my guts and bold MZ

Kebabe vs Thor:
This might be the only time I bold against Kebabe, unfortunately Dialgas are out so I don’t see him prep as hard as other weeks. On the other hand Thor is just being Thor and his builds, despite the simplicity behind them are played with a lot of quality even when the teams can be predictable.

Richard (40) vs SEA (60): I feel that both players didn't play their best this UPL, but since it is ADV SEA should kind of be automatically bolded. Also depends on bo1/3/5/7/9/x or if they choose to actually play, I don't view either as the type to straight up throw so hopefully we should get a good game(s).

iry (60) vs Vileman (40): admittedly I don't know much about vileman's adv, but iry is coming off a pretty good showing snapping MMII's undefeated streak.

Heysup (51) vs MMII (49): Although MMII's record is better this tour, I think that Heysup is due a game/series where he gets lucky and/or plays his best, which could defeat MMII who has been very dominant. Definitely the ADV game to watch this week, unless you prefer watching ff2's timer get down to 3 seconds on turn 8. :pikuh:

Exiline vs The Kyle: I'm too lazy to bold this one because while on paper, Exiline is the obvious favorite, I could also see him not showing up/getting subbed out etc. etc.

Inspirited (60) vs London Beats (40): Inspirited has been in better form, he brought an interesting team last week vs shrang and I thought he played pretty solidly, so bolding him here.

Beraldo (35) vs shrang (65): I don't really see dialgas taking prep very seriously/actually playing their games at this point, so...rip Hack DPP

Lasen (60) vs Monai (40): Monai led with Kabutops last week?? However I wouldn't be surprised if Monai plays at the level that we all know they are capable of, could be a very interesting one.

kebabe (55) vs Thor (45): kebabe is probably the BW GOAT, and has been winning without even setting rocks in his last couple of games :worrywhirl: Obviously we all know Thor's level as well, and this match might be decided from how much kebabe decides to prep/how many NU mons he brings.

March Fires (51) vs Dovah (49): Although we haven't seen tape BW in UPL for a while, he's definitely not rusty. Scoped his BWPL games, and he has been playing solidly and bringing his good teams. I do think that in general dovah is more streaky as a player, when he is on fire he plays pretty amazing, but sometimes he clicks/chokes. If dovah wins, there is definitely some irony in him being 7-0 and Mukkers BW being 0-7 though... Definitely the match of the week :]

If the Manly Melmetal win / tie the week:
  • They are in playoffs.
If the Manly Melmetal lose the week:
  • At least one of the Drizzlers / Bandits must lose the week, and the Melmetals must lose by less than said other team. If the Melmetal lose by 1 more game it is a tiebreak, and any more means they miss playoffs.
Since they have the same differential and both play opponents who do not change playoff qualifications, the conditions for the Drizzlers and Bandits are the same.

If the DaReal Drizzlers or Choice Bandits win / tie the week:
  • They are in playoffs.
If the DaReal Drizzlers or Choice Bandits lose the week:
  • If the Manly Melmetal beat the Alolan Mukkers, they are in playoffs.
  • The rest of these scenarios will operate under the assumption both the Drizzlers and Bandits lose the week, since at least one will qualify in all scenarios and if either win / tie then it is them.
  • If the Manly Melmetal tie with the Alolan Mukkers, at least one of the Drizzlers / Bandits make playoffs regardless, however both make playoffs if they lose 5 differential or less (8-4 / 8-3 or any other combination with deadgames), and tiebreak if they lose 6 differential (9-3 / any other combination with deadgames). Anything more would make one miss playoffs, so if both lose 8+ differential (10-2 or worse / any other combination with deadgames) whoever loses more will miss playoffs.
  • If the Alolan Mukkers beat the Manly Melmetal, at least one of the Drizzlers / Bandits make playoffs regardless; whoever loses by less (tiebreak if they lose by the same, 3-way tiebreak if Melmetals match that differential). Both can make it if the Mukkers beat the Melmetals by 2+ games more than the Drizzlers / Bandits lose by. If the Mukkers beat the Melmetals by 1 game more than the Drizzlers / Bandits lose by, it is a tiebreak.

  • They are in playoffs.
If the Alolan Mukkers tie the week:
  • At least one of the DaReal Drizzlers / Choice Bandits must lose the week while losing 6+ differential (9-3 or worse). If they lose by 6 differential it is a tiebreak, 3-way if both lose 9-3.
If the Alolan Mukkers lose the week:
  • They cannot make playoffs.
