"Welcome everyone, I hope you're all having a god day. If you are, I hope an inevitable trip to a Pokemon Center won't change that. Today we'll be spectating a pretty standard 3v3 battle. between Toon and Gemini Taurus. Toon seems to have the type advantage team-wise, but if there's one thing I've learned here, it's that basic type advantages will only get you so far. Battlers, send out your first pokemon."

First sendout determined by coin flip
1 = Toon | 2 = Gemini
Result: 2

Gemini Taurus sends out first
Toon sends out second and orders first
Gemini Taurus orders second

Before we begin the match, I have an announcement. As you may have noticed, with the release of brilliant diamond / shining pearl, the rules for BBP have been updated. These rule changes primarily affect how combinations work, and how damaging evasive moves such as fly work. Since this battle was accepted,, and the teams were sent in before the rules change was announced,, we will not be using the updated rules for this battle.

However, if both battlers decide that they would like to use the new rules for this battle,, since no actions have been taken yet I will allow this. If you decide to do this,, I will also allow you to remake your teams if both of you agree to..

I apologize for any confusion, if you decide to not use the updated rules, then I will likely be generous with reorders caused by the confusion, since you'll likely have battles that use the new rules while this one is going on.

I asked subby in discord, we agreed on using the new rules cause might was well test them out. Im satisfied with my team, so ill leave changing team decision on Gemini Taurus

Thx for the heads up o7

In that case we'll continue with the new rules. Geini may continue this thread by either asking to send in a new team (at which point I will again give toon the opportunity to do so as well, in order to limit the effect of already having seen the starting team) or by sending out their first pokemon.

"So it looks like a new start with a familiar face! How have you been Toon? I think that since we're seeing an old friend, it only makes sense that Hydrangea, you've got the most veterancy, start us off! A set of Leftovers will do you well!"

Sending out Hydrangea the Muk holding Leftovers

"Hiyo Subby! If you're leading with your oldest 'mon then I think I'll do the same. Terra take this Expert Belt and let's rock!

Lycanroc-Du Drill Run -> Drill Run -> Stomping Tantrum
IF Under the effects of P/E THEN Stealth Rock First Instance
IF Trapping Move AND Lycanroc-Du is not under the effects of Trapping Move THEN Substitute (15) First Instance
IF Mean Look AND Lycanroc-Du is faster AND not in a combo THEN Taunt

"Starting off strong I see! Terra's Tough Claws are certainly going to hurt, but at least we can deal with that Expert Belt!"

"Hydrangea, get ready to come back, I'm not done with you yet!"

"*Sigh*, the first round of his first reffing gig, and already this happens. Welp, I guess I'll be taking over as ref for now since Indi and Sari HATE tiny bugs. Anyway, it looks like Terra has an immediate and huge damage advantage, even with a Muk's higher Hp and the leftovers, Terra still manages to shave off half Hydrangea's health! Still, It isn't all bad for Hydrangea, she was able to take care of the expert belt and got to trap Terra with infestation, so we'll see how this goes."

:ss/(Weavile):
"Can someone please explain how a Muk just used rock polish?"

:ss/(Houndoom):
"Well, Sari probably knows, but . . . I don't think she'll be back anytime soon."

"That was great Hydrangea, but now it's time for Dill to greet our old friend! You'll do well with a Big Root to keep you nice and healthy!"

Switching to Dill the Scrafty holding Big Root, Infestation prevents counterswitch
Drain Punch - High Jump Kick - Drain Punch
***IF Lycanroc is under the effects of a P/E move when you are to act, use Bulk Up that action and restart queue.

Lycanroc-Du: Play Rough -> Double Team (2) -> Play Rough
IF High Jump Kick crits a2 THEN Protect a3

Apologies for the delay.

Dill is sent out and intimidates Terra! (Or maybe it's the bugs, I'd believe it).
Terra's attack: 0 => -1
Terra's attack modifier now decays to -1

Action 1
Terra uses Play Rough
hit (>10 / 100) 8: Miss!
Energy: 7 | 77 - 7 = 70

Dill uses Drain Punch
Crit (24 / 24) 12: No
Damage: (8 + 3 + 2) * 1.5 = 20 | 68 - 20 = 48
Energy: 9 - 1 = 8 | 100 - 8 = 92
Healing: Already at full Hp

Terra takes damage from the infestation
Terra's Hp: 48 - 2 = 46

Action 2
Terra uses Double Team and makes 2 clones
Energy: 8 | 70 - 8 = 62

Dill uses High Jump Kick
Hit (>10 / 100) 58: Hit
Clones (Clone > 33 / 100) 77: The move strikes a clone
Dill phases through a clone and crashes!
Self Damage: 13 + 3 = 16 | 85 - 16 = 69
Energy: 8 - 1= 7 | 92 - 7 = 85
Terra now has 1 clone

Terra takes damage from the infestation
Terra's Hp: 46 - 2 = 44

Action 3
Terra uses Play Rough
Hit (> 10 / 100) 46: Hit
Crit (24 / 24) 5: No
Damage: (9 + 2) * 2 - 1 * 2 = 20 | 69 - 20 = 49
Effect (>90 / 100) 89: No
Energy: 7 | 62 - 7 = 55

Dill uses Drain Punch
Clone (clone>50 / 100) 86: The move hits a clone
Energy: 9 - 1 = 8 | 85 - 8 = 77
Terra no longer has any clones

Tera takes damage from the infestation
Terra's Hp: 44 - 2 = 42
