Gliscor is regarded as being the most annoying pokemon to face even tho it has a 4x weakness to Ice, sadlly there are no longer good Ice types in this current format or so we thought. Introducing modern Bolt Beam, Thundurus Therian the bat slayer. Since Pinkacross started theroycrafting about this mon back in the pre-home metagame I've always seen it as a nice anti-meta threat and once Gliscor was king I saw the potential for a new star.

2.Team and Description

Staple dark type of the metagame with a small little twist to its usual set, Choice Scarf. It's a set I've seen trending upward recently and for a good reason. With the introduction of Flip Turn to its arsenal, it has an incredible synergy with Thundurus establishing the new Volt Turn infamous in previous metagames. Just like any other Samurott it can settle down spikes which are obligatory in this meta and with the extra speed can pick up kills on unsuspected opponents like Dragapult and a rocks-chipped Enamorus.

252 Atk Sharpness Samurott-Hisui Aqua Cutter vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Enamorus: 202-238 (69.8 - 82.3%) -- 56.3% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock
252 Atk Sharpness Samurott-Hisui Ceaseless Edge vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Dragapult: 354-416 (111.6 - 131.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Another previous OU staple has just recently returned and for a good reason. This thing now has access to Poltergeist for massive damage given it comes out of 125 base attacks that can be boosted further with Swords Dance. Offensively it's amazing late game, but it also serves a purpose defensively. First of all, it can definitely check Iron Moth which is sweeping through teams more often than not, and as a bonus it can be used as a secondary Spin blocker in case Gholdengo is needed healthy, and taking a hit can prevent it from checking something like Sneasler down the line. Tera Fairy as you will see it useful in plays against Kingambit since you can tank the Sucker Punch and Bitter Blade back.

252+ Atk Tera Fairy Ceruledge Bitter Blade vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Kingambit: 270-318 (79.1 - 93.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock
+2 252+ Atk Supreme Overlord 5 allies fainted Kingambit Sucker Punch vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Tera Fairy Ceruledge: 233-274 (80 - 94.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
+1 252 SpA Iron Valiant Shadow Ball vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Ceruledge: 248-292 (85.2 - 100.3%) -- 6.3% chance to OHKO

The star of the show and the savior of the metagame. Volt Beam does it all as we saw with Arctozolt. You are walled by Gliscor and as such you invite it in, once you Knock Off on their Portect you can Tera and OHKO them back. If they switch who cares, you have got perfect coverage and a free momentum-grabbing move that can't be stopped. The other moves are chosen to take away items from users of Boots like Skeledirge and Blissey and Grass Knot helps chip down pokemon like Garganacl and Ting Lu. Timid helps in case you face Manaphy which otherwise is faster than everyone on the team outside of our Scarfer and threatens it for big damage if it uses Tail Glow.

252 SpA Tera Ice Thundurus-Therian Grass Knot (120 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Garganacl: 220-260 (54.4 - 64.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Tera Ice Thundurus-Therian Grass Knot (120 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Vessel of Ruin Ting-Lu: 178-210 (34.6 - 40.8%) -- 98.6% chance to 3HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Tera Ice Thundurus-Therian Tera Blast vs. 244 HP / 252+ SpD Gliscor: 492-580 (139.7 - 164.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO

This pokemon does it all as we established in my last RMT. On this particular build, we decided on Foul Play to threaten Dragon Dance Dragonite and Dragapult on the same move. Spedef set allows to pivot against said Dragapult without risking valuable health on Samurott. On top of that it serves as our main Water type check since Ogerpon was threatening for the composition we had so far. Red Card was optimal here since we have hazard stack and can get unwanted chip vs opposing pokemons. Tera Dark Spedef provides a soft check to said Dragapult since the team struggles a bit against it and a neutrality vs most types to allow for an unsuspecting Spore.

The staple of Ou and the sole check of Kingambit in the entire tier is used to allow for more creativity in the rest of the build. The speed allows you to outspeed no-speed Manaphy and at +1 you outspeed Ogerpon and Iron Moth. Rest is standard and Poison Tera can help check unsuspecting Iron Valiants and revenge kill Rillaboom wanting to sneek up an easy KO.

Lastly the other most annoying pokemon in SV Ou. You already know what it does generally but this ev spread is crucial to the team. Max defense allows to tank Sneasler boosted and trade back with Make It Rain while also being able to avoid a 2shot by Gliscor and Nasty Plot on him for free. Leftovers allow for total abuse of Grassy Terrain and better tanking of said Gliscor. Tera Fairy can cause a wanted 50/50 vs Sneasler and a low Hp Kingambit while being generally very solid vs most stuff.

+2 252+ Atk Sneasler Lash Out vs. 248 HP / 236+ Def Gholdengo: 272-320 (72.1 - 84.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ Atk Choice Band Rillaboom Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 248 HP / 236+ Def Gholdengo: 256-302 (67.9 - 80.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Grassy Terrain recovery
+2 28 SpA Gholdengo Make It Rain vs. 244 HP / 196+ SpD Gliscor: 309-364 (87.7 - 103.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock

3. Teambuilding Process

We decided to start off with Thundurus in mind since it worked incredibly on the current meta. Samurott worked as an offensive couple for Thudnurus-T allowing for a nice Volt Turn core that can pick up momentum nicely against any team. Gholdengo and Tusk worked as a defensive backbone for the electric king and to finish the triagle we added Amoongusswho provided a non-existent Water resist and a Check for Ogerpon which could eat the core alive given the only faster mon was Samurott as well as a nice pivot vs special threats. Ceruledge was the amazing cherry on top who provided a needed check to special fire types such as Iron Moth who so far if it ever got a +1 SpA boost would mole the team over while also allowing for big damage if positioned with the momentum-grabbing tools the team has.

4. Usage Tips

When using this team you must think and plan a lot ahead, especially against the threats mentioned next. If you take unnecessary risks with the cheks to those threats it could get scary really fast. As for how to manage your Thudurus-T, try and bluf the lack of terablast and Knock Off first turn on their protect and then go ham with it. If you see a Rillaboom on the opposing team you can play Samurott aggressively to get a Spike up as shown in the replays. Vs things like a Dragonite or Dragapult try to manage Red Card for the best-case scenario and force some chip with hazards on Dragapult and prevent a sweep on Dragonite. This team synergizes well enough to be user-friendly, and from the first game you'll get the feel of it so don't worry, take time, and only take risks if necessary.

5. Replays

6. Threat List

The biggest problems for the team as of right now are not many outside of Tera Fire Cinderace under sun or even regular. Our fire resists are not durable ones but there are outs vs it. Samurott is faster and can damage heavily with either Flip Turn or Ceesles Edge if sun where active. The other threat could be Sneasler who if allowed to set up too much can completely get out of hand. If you keep a solid gameplan vs it and position Gholdengo well vs him it should be fine. Lastly, the sun matchup can be really demanding given the lack of a speedier pokemon than Walking Wake and a Water resist that can take a Draco Meteor. Vs them try force hazards up asap and position as well as you can with Volt Switch which generally lacks a proper switch-in in these archetipes.

7. Shoutouts

Savouras Same as always bud thanx for the help on the teambuilder and let's try to revive a Ru mon for next time what about that?

8.Team Importable and Outro

Very cool team thanks for posting, I think Thundurus-Therian is way too underrated to be a UU Pokémon it has some real weight in OU, when it comes to this boots set and Choice Specs in general.
Have to agree on that. Hope to see it become Ou for next tier shifts and thanks for the nice comment, appreciated.
