The Pokedex Redone v3.5
Welcome to TPR v3.5! The purpose of this mod is that we're "replacing" every Pokemon in the Galar Pokedex with a new Fakemon. These can't just be any old Fakemon, though; they have to share quite a few similarities to the base Pokemon. Those are as follows...

- Every replacement Fakemon has to keep one of the original Pokemons' types as specified each slate. If Hydreigon is required to keep Dark, examples of some things you could make it include Dark/Fire, pure Dark, or Dark/Dragon if you'd like. You CANNOT make it Dragon/Ghost, though, since the Dark typing was the specified one.
- The base stats can only be increased or decreased by 20 points in each, and the base stat total can only change by 30. Keeping Hydreigon as an example, it has a base 125 Sp. Atk, so that cannot drop below 105 and cannot raise above 145. The base stat total can range between 30 of the original, so since Hydreigon's is 600, it can be between 630 and 570.
- You can add up to five new moves on your Pokemon. The catch is that for every move that you add, you have to remove one. However, you can add as many STAB moves as you'd like, and you can remove additional moves if you feel like they don't make sense flavorfully.
- There will also be one specified ability that you have to keep, and the number of abilities should remain the same from the base Pokemon. Hydreigon only has one ability, and so it has to keep the one ability, but something like Tyranitar could be specified to keep Sand Stream. You would be able to change its hidden ability, though.

Below is an example submission and the template you should use for submissions...
:ss/tyranitar:
Pokemon: Tyranitar
New Pokemon name: Brawlzilla
Stat Distribution: 110/114/110/115/80/81 (610) (Also note the original stats are 100/134/110/95/100/61 (600))
Weight: 255 kg
Abilities: Sand Stream / --- / Battle Armor
Types: Rock/Fighting (kept type is Rock)
Added Moves: Close Combat, Drain Punch, Focus Blast, Swords Dance, Bulk Up, Recover, Spikes
Removed Moves: Stealth Rock, Crunch, Aqua Tail, Dragon Claw
Description (note that this can include flavor): A very versatile Pokemon, but each set has its shortcomings. A Swords Dance breaker is probably its best set, since its STAB combination provides fantastic coverage, but it's very slow and has a lot of weaknesses. You can also run utility hazard variants for the raw bulk this Pokemon has, but its defensive typing really doesn't accomplish much.
Flavor (optional): This Pokemon hides itself away in mountains, only ever coming out when angry to attack a nearby forest or city.

Slate 1: Gen 8 Starter Final Evos (Rillaboom, Cinderace, Inteleon)
The Gen 8 starters are the most interesting trio to come out of Gen 8 due to being the starters, and thus, Slate 1 will focus on them! Each Pokemon has the standard rules, except for the following exceptions:

:ss/rillaboom:
Rillaboom:
-Must keep Grassy Glide, Wood Hammer, and Drum Beating
:ss/cinderace:
Cinderace:
-Must keep Pyro Ball, U-Turn, and High Jump Kick
:ss/inteleon:
Inteleon:
-Must keep Snipe Shot and Ice Beam

Subs are now open and will end on 8/15 unless otherwise noted. If you have any questions, just ask. We'll be glad to answer your questions! Happy posting!

Is there a dedicated submission template? I really do not want any of the filler text clogging up how much time it takes to make a sub.

(and if you could please edit this into the original post)

also the rules seem super confusing, particularly the one regarding the stats phase. Can you clarify these?

:ss/rillaboom:
Pokemon: Rillaboom
New Pokemon name: Treemble
Stat Distribution: 80/135/80/80/80/75 (530)
Types:
/

Kept moves: Grassy Glide, Wood Hammer, Drum Beating, U-Turn, Swords Dance, Knock Off, Earthquake
Added moves: Fire Blast, Stone Edge, Stomping Tantrum, Fire Punch
Abilities: Overgrow, Chlorophyll
Competitive Overview: This Rillaboom-based Pokemon has average bulk, less than average Speed for OU, but has 10 more Atk. However, the main difference here is its ability to outspeed almost everything bar Hawlucha/Excadrill under sun. Pair it with a Drought setter and it becomes much more effective. Sample set:
Treemble @ Life Orb
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Wood Hammer
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Swords Dance
Hits for great coverage on just about everything. Hopefull a weather setter gets voted in eventually^TM.
Flavor (Optional): This Pokemon is a tree who uses its trunk to beat the ground harshly. It is flexible but slow.
Breeding Group(s): Monster and Grass
Weight: 120 kg
:ss/cinderace:

Kept moves: Pyro Ball, HJK, U-Turn, Acrobatics, Iron Head
Added moves: Hone Claws, Iron Tail, Dragon Rush, Dual Chop, Outrage, Dual Wingbeat, Scale Shot
Abilities: Blaze, Hustle
Competitive Overview: This Pokemon is meant to be a Hustle + Hone Claws user. It relies on Hone Claws heavily. It can run Blaze and still do well.
Sample set:
Brawlsikisk @ Wide Lens
Ability: Hustle
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Hone Claws
- Pyro Ball
- High Jump Kick
- Dragon Rush
Flavor (Optional): This Pokemon is a fighting, fire-breathing dragon. It has no wings, instead relying on its arms and its lethal talons. It also is quite quick, usually picking up soccer and acrobatics as hobbies.
Breeding Group(s): Dragon
Weight: 150 kg
:ss/inteleon:
Pokemon: Inteleon
New Pokemon name: Poseijinn

EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Snipe Shot
- Hurricane
- Thunder
- Ice Beam
Flavor (Optional): This is a Pokemon that wields both a crossbow and spears. It is half Pokemon, half God. As we all know, that makes for a powerful, but mortal, combination. It's like a genie but with scales and fins.
Breeding Group(s): Water 1
Weight: 55 kg

Pokemon: Rillaboom
New Pokemon name: Monkfruity
Stat Distribution: 95/120/90/50/80/95
Types: Grass/Fight
Kept moves: Grassy Glide, Wood Hammer, Drum Beating, Knock Off, U-Turn,
Removed moves: Earthquake, U-Turn, Boom Burst, Noble Roar, Knock Off, Mud Shot, Stomping Tantrum
Added moves: Mach Punch, Vacuum Wave, High Jump Kick, Thunder Punch, Fire Punch, Ice Punch, Spikes
Abilities: Overgrow (Defiant)
Competitive Overview: This flavorful monk takes advantage of a powerful Fight/Grass type niche. Unlike Breloom it is faster and naturally more durable but while Defiant is nice, it cannot compare to Poison Heal or Technician. Its best use is to probably on Grassy Surge teams to help deter web or Defog usage. If you can get the boost, you're pretty scary, hard hitting and have 2 forms of priority attacks, although there's little you can do about poison types, especially levitating varieties.
Flavor: Monk Fruit is a real fruit and if you want to find a nice healthier sweetener alternative to the poison that is sugar, I highly recommend it! In this case, Monkfruity is a Buddhist style Himilayan monk who has a beatable gong. Its head is bald but shaped like a smooth fruit. Its fists burst with greenery. Its first stage is Clobbacado and stage 2 is called Beetemup.
Breeding Groups: Grass/Humanlike
Weight: 95 kg

Pokemon: Cinderace
New Pokemon name: Skaterboil
Stat Distribution: 81/121/70/55/80/123 (530)
Types: Fire/Ice
Kept moves: Pyro Ball, High Jump Kick, U-Turn, Gunk Shot
Removed moves: Zen Headbutt, Scorching Sands, Bulk Up, Iron Head, Electroball
Added moves: Triple Axel, Ice Punch, Ice Fang, Avalanche, Swords Dance, High Horsepower, Ice Shard, Hail, Ice Beam, Blizzard
Abilities: Blaze (Dancer)
Competitive Overview: The typing has defensive issues. Offensively, not so bad. Fire/Ice is a great offensive type augmented by knowing when to switch in. Getting a free Sword or Dragon Dance or even Quiver because the enemy wanted to set up is usually excellent news. Skaterboil tends to be faster than most setup sweepers and can reverse sweep them with their own boosts. If it forces a switch, it might even get itself another Sword Dance or Bulk Up and get even stronger. Of course, this thing has problems. It needs either HDB or wish/hazard control support much the way Volcarona does, and unlike Volc, this thing is either weak or neutral to more forms of Priority moves and water types are hard for it to do anything to as it has no grass or electric moves to get through the bulkier ones. Other fire types are a problem if it doesn't carry High Horse, but may want to opt for High Jump for added power. Sadly every fire or water type paired with a fight resist will resist that, and U-Turning is an option but hard to justify constant switches even with HDB due to Fire and Ice being a fairly awful defensive type as water, fight, ground and rock weaknesses are 4 of the worst types to be weak to on earth and all to show is a 4x ice resist, grass, bug and fairy resist. Admitedly the last one can be fairly useful to take care of Clefable's replacement just a little better with Gunk Shot
Flavor: Looking like an ice skater with fire on the wheels, this thing has a trail of fire as it skates. Its body is red and light blue. It evolves from Slickburn, who in turn evolves from Hotwheeler, who ride Rollerskates and Rollerblades respectively.
Breeding Groups: Humanlike
Weight: 72 kg

Pokemon: Inteleon
New Pokemon name: Osprayer
Stat Distribution: 85/75/80/105/65/120 (530)
Types: Water/Flying
Kept moves: Snipe Shot, Air Slash, Hydro Pump, Surf, Scald, Rain Dance, U-Turn
Removed moves: Tearful Look, Sucker Punch, Bind, Weather Ball, Mud Shot, Icicle Spear, Breaking Swipe, Work Up
Added moves: Wing Attack, Hurricane, Pluck, Dual Wingbeat, Peck, Sludge Bomb, Roost
Abilities: Torrent (No Guard)
Competitive Overview: I know that No Guard with Hurricane, Hydro Pump and Blizzard seems obscenely unbeatable but keep in mind, I have lowered its special attack to the minimum of 105 and it gets no boosting moves so its last move is filler, whether you need Sludge Bomb for fairies, Dark Pulse/Shadow Ball for Ghost or Psychics, or U-Turn or Roost for utility. Granted coverage is hard to claim as a need, since only Water/Electric and Water/Steel resist this combination of No Guard moves and with no way to boost, what you see is what you get.
Flavor: This cliffside oceanic Osprey has eyes that are so keen they always water. Its feathers look like droplets. It can pinpoint a target 10 miles away with a blast of water as it hunts critters and sea fish. It evolves from Baygull, who in turn evolves from Piscatern.
Breeding Groups: Water2/Flying
Weight: 72 kg

:ss/rillaboom:
Pokemon: Rillaboom
New Pokemon name: Jerbooma
Stat Distribution: 80 / 115 / 100 / 75 / 60 / 100 (530)
Types:
/

Kept moves: Grassy Glide, Wood Hammer, Drum Beating, U-turn, Earthquake, Knock Off, Swords Dance
Added moves: Iron Head, Flash Cannon, Iron Tail, Steel Beam, Seed Bomb
Abilities: Overgrow / (Sap Sipper)
Competitive Overview: Jerbooma has a strong defensive typing with solid Attack and physical bulk, allowing it to come in and set up. Jerbooma is decently fast for a Steel type, with Wood Hammer, Iron Head, and Earthquake as its main offensive options and U-turn for pivoting. Sap Sipper provides a Grass immunity, taking opponents' Grass Glide, Strength Sap, Spore/Sleep Power, Wood Hammer, etc., and boosting Jerbooma's Attack in the process.
Flavor (Optional): Jerbooma skillfully jump around on their steel drums, creating a beautiful echoing melody that can be heard from miles away. While they prefer to avoid physical confrontations, Jerbooma can play specific rhythms to control the roots and vines of nearby plants to attack opponents.
Breeding Group(s): Field / Grass
Weight: 41 kg

:ss/cinderace:
Pokemon: Cinderace
New Pokemon name: Thylaroos
Stat Distribution: 70 / 110 / 75 / 80 / 75 / 120 (530)
Types:
/

Kept moves: Pyro Ball, U-turn, High Jump Kick, Court Change, Bulk Up, Sucker Punch
Added moves: Shadow Claw, Shadow Sneak, Phantom Force, Poltergeist
Abilities: Blaze / (Unburden)
Competitive Overview: Thylaroos is a fast physical attacker with access to powerful STABs in Pyro Ball and Poltergeist, with Shadow Sneak and Sucker Punch for priority, and other options in U-turn and High Jump Kick. Unburden can be used with terrain seeds and setters to be a sweeper that becomes immune to Poltergeist itself.
Flavor (Optional): Thylaroos steal the souls of people and Pokemon, kicking them around between one other like some twisted sport. Trainers of Thylaroos are expected to provide them with more acceptable objects to play with.
Breeding Group(s): Field / Human-like
Weight: 28 kg

:ss/inteleon:
Pokemon: Inteleon
New Pokemon name: Archifin
Stat Distribution: 70 / 75 / 65 / 123 / 80 / 117 (530)
Types:
/

Kept moves: Snipe Shot, Ice Beam, Hydro Pump, Focus Energy
Added moves: Thunderbolt, Thunder, Volt Switch, Flip Turn
Abilities: Torrent / (Super Luck)
Competitive Overview: Archifin are fast special attackers with a range of strong attacks including Hydro Pump, Thunderbolt, and Ice Beam. It also has two different pivoting moves to use in Volt Switch and Flip Turn. A choice specs set could be utilized with three offensive moves and a pivoting move, or you could try a gimmicky Super Luck/Focus Energy/Scope Lens set with Snipe Shot.
Flavor (Optional): Archifin are master snipers, able to fire precise jets of pressurized water at targets or prey over 1000 feet away. Moving or evasive targets are struck with beams of paralyzing electricity.
Breeding Group(s): Water 2
Weight: 32 kg

Posting my first subs here, will finish them later tonight. Edit: Finalized.

Pokemon: Rillaboom
New Pokemon name: Baboomer
Stat Distribution: 90/127/105/74/69/65 (530)
Types:
/

Kept moves: Grassy Glide, Wood Hammer, Drum Beating, Bulk Up, Brick Break, Hammer Arm, Earthquake, High Horsepower,
Removed moves: U-Turn, Drain Punch, Leech Seed, Darkest Lariat
Added moves: Stone Edge, Head Smash, Stealth Rock, Iron Head
Abilities: Overgrow (Rock Head)
Competitive Overview: Baboomer is the Owner, Founder, and sole employee of its own demolition company. It broke down its first wall in 1989, and that is all that it has done ever since. With CB, it can threaten to OKHO or 2HKO most of OU with STAB Wood Hammer and Head Smash alone. While these moves normally come with a large HP tax for the user, Baboomer has managed to evade this, thanks to its skull being so thick that it blocks any new ideas recoil damage from hurting it.
Flavor (Optional): Baboomer has many hollow sections in its skull that absorb shock and protect its brain. These hollow sections also make a loud percussive sounds when struck. Baboomers can communicate over long distances by beating on their own head to create drum beats.
Breeding Group(s): Grass and Mineral
Weight: 120.0 kg

Breeding Group(s): Flying and Human-Like
Weight: 77.7 kg

Can run a wide variety of sets, including Dual Screens, Will-o-Hex, Choice Specs+Flip Turn, Sub+Disable etc. Even has Haze to serve as an emergency Stop to any boosting sweeper.
Flavor (Optional): Dropbeye love to Soak people and Pokemon when they least expect it. It can blast its target with water from over 1,000 ft. away, then giggle to itself while its victim shivers.
Breeding Group(s): Water 1 and Amorphous

Welcome Bencaua as the fifth council member! I appreciate all the interest in this mod.

Stealth adding DuoM2 as the sixth because I announced Bencaua would be the final council member, assuming Duo wouldn't be able to be a council member.

Oh and you might be wondering why Egg Groups is mandatory. This goes back to a conversation I had about an Egg Moves distribution slate. This slate will be announced when enough submissions are voted in.

Last edited:
Rule clarification: The number of moves must be less than or equal to the number of viable moves the Pokémon has in National Dex. Also, Removed moves is optional. It can been removed completely if all moves are assumed removed except Kept moves.

Resubbing from v2 because I had a concept in mind and don't want it to go to waste. I was literally on the verge of spriting it as well because finals had just ended.

Pokemon: Cinderace
New Pokemon name: Draxplosion
Stat Distribution: 80/96/70/95/70/119
Types: Fire/Dragon
Kept moves: Pyro Ball, U-Turn, High Jump Kick, Fire Bast
Removed moves: Court Change, Scorching Sands, Electro Ball, Bulk Up, Shadow Ball, Low Kick
Added moves: Dragon Claw, Rapid Spin, Dragon Pulse
Abilities: Blaze/No Second Ability/Adaptability
Competitive Overview: This thing has very little in the ways of coverage and instead relies on its strong STAB moves to deal damage thanks to Adaptability. Rapid Spin is there for the added utility that it would have otherwise had with Court Change but I hate that move so I got rid of it lol
Flavor (Optional): All of the Pokedex entries and stuff from v2 apply here. I'd imagine this would have a bunch of random Dragon moves for flavor as well, like Dragon Rage, Dragonbreath, and Dual Chop.
Breeding Group(s): Dragon
Weight: 43 kg

Prevo sprites btw -

I know the rules were confusing at the time of posting this. The rule is you may not go over the number of viable moves. Also, Electro Ball is not a viable move. It is okay to remove it, but this means you may not add another viable move in its place; only a non-viable move. So you need to make sure the added moves don't go over the allowed number.

Glad to be part of the council and very happy with the current ruleset! Correct me if I do anything wrong.

:ss/rillaboom:
Pokemon: Rillaboom
New Pokemon name: Goraiji
Stat Distribution: 110/125/80/60/80/75 (530)
Types:
/

Kept moves: Grassy Glide, Wood Hammer, Drum Beating, Hammer Arm, High Horsepower, Drain Punch
Added moves: Thunder Punch, Zing Zap, Rising Voltage, Nuzzle
Ability: Overgrow, Harvest
Competitive Overview: Albeit no longer a Terrain Setter like Rillaboom was, Goraiji, inspired on Japanese god of Thunder and Harvest Raijin, who is commonly associated with drums, can exploit several different battlefield conditions, be it Grassy or Electric Terrain or Sun, for many purposes. I made him able to live on for a long time in the battle by splitting his defenses equally and increasing his HP in combination with his hidden ability.
Flavor (Optional): Goraiji is said to be able to cause lightning storms with his drums. He is a popular Pokémon in rural areas, as these tempests are beneficial to the crops.
Evolves from Doramonk, which in turn evolves from Gibbonk.
Breeding Group(s): Field and Grass
Weight: 120 kg

Pokemon: Cinderace
New Pokemon name: Pyroasta
Stat Distribution: 80/125/80/65/80/100 (530)
Types:
/

Kept moves: Pyro Ball, U-Turn, and High Jump Kick
Added moves: First Impression, Leech Life, Skitter Smack
Abilities: Blaze, Magic Guard
Competitive Overview: Based on the Pyrausta, a “small, insect-like Dragon” which became the scientific name of many kinds of moths later on. The mythological nature of the being warrants it a protection to all kinds of indirect damage in Magic Guard, allowing it to use choice items without having to worry about dying ‘cause of Sneaky Pebbles.
Flavor (Optional): Pyroasta’s flaming scales have a protective property that prevents illnesses. Scientists are trying to understand what causes this, but the Pokémon’s evasive nature makes it even more difficult.
Evolves from Inseart, which in turn evolves from Flarva.
Breeding Group(s): Bug, Dragon
Weight: 23 kg
Fun fact: I was originally gonna submit a Fire/Fighting Kangaroo ‘mon with Parental Bond but realized that with males of the species having to exist it would make a little less sense, so I decided to go on with the myth theme.

:ss/inteleon:
Pokemon: Inteleon
New Pokemon name: Warloch
Stat Distribution: 70/70/80/125/65/120 (530)
Types:
/

Kept moves: Snipe Shot, Hydro Pump, and Ice Beam, Dark Pulse, Shadow Ball, U-Turn
Added moves: Psychic, Expanding Force, Flip Turn
Abilities: Torrent, Forewarn
Competitive Overview: We had a deity and a mythological being, the next logical step was a cryptid. Warloch has plenty of moveset options and has a semi-useful ability in Forewarn. Basically the most straightforward special attacker ever.
Flavor (Optional): While Warloch can use its psychic powers to make many sorts of constructs, it’s favorite will always be a GUN. It has a special sixth sense capable of detecting danger, which it uses to escape poachers and predators alike.
Evolves from Nessiren, which in turn evolves from Nessea.
Breeding Group(s): Water 1, Monster
Weight: 125 kg

EDIT: Gave Warloch a few more useful moves earlier, and now made Pyroasta a little more balanced by lowering it's speed to 100 and putting the remaining BST across it's defenses.

Pokemon: Rillaboom
New Pokemon name: Concussionist
Stat Distribution: 100/140/70/60/70/90 (BST 530)
Types: http://play.pokemonshowdown.com/sprites/types/Grass.png / http://play.pokemonshowdown.com/sprites/types/Fighting.png
Kept moves: All except Noble Roar
Removed moves (Optional): Noble Roar
Added moves: High Jump Kick, Jump Kick
Abilities: Overgrow, Reckless
Competitive Overview: This looks awfully similar to some other elemental primate, and it is. In fact it pretty much is grassmanitan, however it also has reckless. That one ability makes this thing awfully threatening when it has HJK and wood hammer, with U-Turn to get it out of here. However it has one major downside, flying types. Not only can they wreck it, but it can't wreck them. It has a total of 0 rock type moves, so its only hope is to switch into a steel type to tank that brave bird.
Flavor (Optional): All drummers are said to be animals at heart, and even for this man-ape-plant thing it's true. Carrying an entire wooden drum set with it, Concussionist is already looking pretty beefy. However when it begins to play it uses its entire body to just be as loud and as angry as possible. In battle it's said to strike opponents as if they were its drums, ie as hard as they can to cause the loudest possible noise.
Breeding Group(s): Grass, Human-Like
Weight: 135kg

if you can only replace viable moves, what abt moves that have different viability? i remember that i have seen a mon with an not useful yawn in the teambuilder
