Introduction
Hello everybody! This is my first RMT, based around the concept of sending Pokemon to sleep, setting up Substitute and spamming Quiver Dance to defeat opponents! The original concept was based on Vivillion from AG, but with the removal of Vivillion from Gen 8, I was forced to choose another Pokemon, and settled on Butterfree over Bellosom. The power drop is significant however, and I’m rather disappointed with this team due to threats like Darmanitan-Galar being hard to stop. So I did this RMT in the hopes that someone knows how to make this team better. Enjoy!

The Pokemon I built the team around.

I wanted a Sticky Web setter so that my Butterfree can outspeed more Pokemon, so I used Ribombee due to it’s high speed.

Stealth Rocks is always handy, so I used Duraludon to test.

Next, I wanted a special attacker, so that I can hit physically Defensive Pokemon. I know Butterfree is a special attacker, but it’s rather weak, and it never hurts to be safe.

Physical attacker. Everybody is raving about how absolutely overpowered this thing is, so I don’t need need to say anything.

Another special attacker, because I can.

After playtesting, I realised I was Excadrill weak, and added Corviknight to take care of it, replacing goodra. Realised that Excadrill could set rocks too, so replaced Duraludon.

Butterfree (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Compound Eyes
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Sleep Powder
- Substitute
- Quiver Dance
- Hurricane
The Star (**cough cough**) of my team, which hardly does anything at all. The set was stolen from Vivillion, and works here. I think.
It’s horribly underwhelming when compared to Vivillion, due to a worse bulk, Special Attack, Speed, etc. It’s horribly weak, and can barely defeat certain key mons. Also, it’s worse than Frosmoth at Quiver Dancing. Sleep is also unreliable, and the opponent could wake up at awkward moments.

Ribombee (F) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Shield Dust
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Sticky Web
- Moonblast
- Stun Spore
- U-turn
Ribombee is the Sticky Web setter, allowing Butterfree to outspeed opponents. However, I realised the meta I was used to was completely destroyed with this one single thing:
Rapid Spin giving Speed boosts.
Rapid Spin started running around everywhere, and started deleting Sticky Web while getting free Speed boosts. Often, Sticky Web barely lasted a few turns before being spun away, leaving Ribombee’s efforts entirely worthless...

Corviknight (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Bulk Up
- Substitute
- Brave Bird
- Roost
Corviknight was introduced to keep the ever-common Excadrill in check, and I opted to use a set I found on the ladder, a Specially Defensive Bulk Up set I saw someone win with. I hope you don’t mind me stealing your set, whoever you are!
Other than this single use though, Corviknight doesn’t do much else. However, this role is important enough, due to the hundreds of Excadrill running around. Actually, they’re...

Yeah let’s get out of the way, shall we?

Noivern (M) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Frisk
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Boomburst
- Dragon Pulse
- Focus Blast
- Hurricane
With the removal of the National Dex from Galar, we find ourselves with a lack of strong Special Attackers which are not considered pseudo-legendary. I was attracted by Noivern due to it having Boomburst, and Choice specs make it’s strong special attacks even stronger. However, this Pokemon has numerous issues, mainly the advent of Galarian Darmanitan, with its STAB Banded (effectively double banded) Icicle Crash guaranteeing a free kill.

Darmanitan-Galar (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Gorilla Tactics
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Icicle Crash
- U-turn
- Earthquake
- Flare Blitz
This is mainly my Physical attacker. It’s sheer potency was stated earlier, with Gorrila Tactics (speaking of which, does this thing look similar to a gorrila at all?) making it have a free Choice Band. Combine that with Choice Scarf, and you have a very scary monster indeed. The coverage of this thing allows it to hit every Pokemon for at least neutral damage, and believe me, you don’t even want to take a neutral hit.

Excadrill (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Mold Breaker
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Rapid Spin
- Earthquake
- Iron Head
This final member of my team is my Stealth Rock setter, Rapid Spinner and practically only check to the mad gorrila (Darmanitan).
I can’t afford Defog, due to it removing my Sticky Web, so I just ran Rapid Spin. Also, the Speed boosts are always welcome. Except on opposing Excadrill of course.

Butterfree (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Compound Eyes
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Sleep Powder
- Substitute
- Quiver Dance
- Hurricane

Ribombee (F) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Shield Dust
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Sticky Web
- Moonblast
- Stun Spore
- U-turn

Corviknight (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Bulk Up
- Substitute
- Brave Bird
- Roost

Noivern (M) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Frisk
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Boomburst
- Dragon Pulse
- Focus Blast
- Hurricane

Darmanitan-Galar (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Gorilla Tactics
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Icicle Crash
- U-turn
- Earthquake
- Flare Blitz

Excadrill (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Mold Breaker
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Rapid Spin
- Earthquake
- Iron Head

That’s it, thanks for reading, and please give helpful comments!

Banned deucer.
I like your team, however just6 so you keep sticky web, my opinion is to have another Fire Type resistence because fire type attacks like Flare Blitz from Darmanitan or Pryo Ball from the fire starter can beat this team. If you want to keep sticky web, instead of Ribombee why not try that Water spider uhhh.. I think it's called Araquanid?

Sticky Web
Liquadation
Wonder Room (cool for Defensive Pokemon)
Mirror Coat

With the item Leftovers or Focus Sash
