For 2019, Monotype players will be able to compete for a prize ribbon that shows who is the best individual tournament player of the year! To reach this goal, players will have to participate in a series of tournaments displaying different skills, performing their best to earn as many circuit points as possible. At the end of the year, there will be a playoffs featuring the 16 players with the most circuit points. The winner of the playoffs will be crowned the 2019 Monotype Circuit Champion and receive this ribbon:

Changes from last year:
MonoGens is a part of the circuit this year. As with its previous two iterations, the format will be bo3 with USUM as game 1 followed by the loser's pick between ORAS and BW. Unlike previous years, it will be double elimination like all other Monotype circuit tournaments.
There will be a playoffs this year. The top 16 players will qualify. In the case of a tie for the last slots, circuit tournament winners will have highest precedence. If there is a tie that cannot be resolved in this way, a simple bracket will be created. All games for the tiebreaker and the playoffs will be single elimination bo3 USUM.
Regardless of when gen 8 is released, the circuit and playoffs will not feature gen 8 in any way.
