It's that season again for some new bans, and we're proud to announce tiering action is coming to your doorstep today! While the slate for our suspect votes is unfinished, it is clear that two of the most broken offenders contributing to the HO-centric meta, Baxcalibur and Pinsir-Mega needed to be removed ASAP. We waited for a 60% supermajority at this stage in the meta for these bans.

Baxcalibur is fairly simple, it clicks SD or DD, and then can basically immediately win the game. Right off the bat Loaded Dice Icicle Spear is insanely threatening and easily punches through Unaware Clefable or any would be check. Tera on top of this just makes this thing a menace and basically mandated a Scizor to handle it or another steel and hope it doesn't have Earthquake. Mega Pinsir on the otherhand is quite bulky behind screens, and you basically needed a full health Skarmory to even think about handling it. Running Earthquake for Aegislash isn't a particularly bad downside given that it hits the electric types that can resist Quick Attack, and revenge killing it with Weavile's ice shard doesn't always work because Feint is a viable alternative.

So for now, Baxcalibur and Mega Pinsir are now banned from National Dex UU.

After this, it's highly likely we will be starting a Weavile suspect, and subsequently removing anything that may pop up in it's absence. Kyurem crushes any defensive strategy atm with it's Freeze Dry combo, and will be dealth with soon after. Mega Gyarados is also popular on HO, however it does have significant defensive answers, and is generally hard to handle with it's massive bulk.

Tagging Kris to implement these, thank you.

Here's the final results of the vote!

As you can see, Aegislash and Dondozo both escaped any tiering action, while Weavile is clearly the first for a suspect, followed by Kyurem, who everyone except one voted to be the second suspect. However, the state of the tier and meta shifts can change pretty radically following a ban, so generally anything past the first suspect should be taken with a grain of salt.

We will be posting the Weavile suspect on the 10th, so look forward to that!
