Sylveon Bulky Offense (Pt. 2)

Shoutouts to smely socks for helping me find the right EVs for Sylveon :]

Some changes were made to the team with the rise of Greninja and the ban of Gholdengo. Sylveon still beats all of the Fighting, Dragon, and Dark-types it's supposed to, but it now baits in Greninja. It is EV'd to survive Gunk Shot from Greninja, activating Weakness Policy and OHKO'ing Greninja with Hyper Beam. Great Tusk now uses its bulky Speed set over Choice Scarf, in order to improve its matchup against Sableye, Annihilape, and other bulky Pokémon. However, without Heavy Slam, it is no longer a surprise answer to Sylveon. That role goes to Choice Band Meowscarada, who can also answer Dondozo, Azumarill, and Espathra.

I reached my highest peak in any ladder with this team, so I feel a little proud of myself ;u;

Generally I make HO teams, but just wanted to make a balanced offense team for a change, so, here it is
Fat offense (pokepast.es)
Iron Hands is a physically bulky mon, so added a few more def evs to live huge power azumarill play rough.
252+ Atk Choice Band Huge Power Azumarill Play Rough vs. 184 HP / 216 Def Iron Hands: 416-492 (84 - 99.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
Bulldoze helps handle a lot of mons it cant ohko, like other hands.
Skeledirge for standard purposes, handling most mons, gave it a sitrus berry instead of leftovers
Building the team i found that great tusk and such pesky ground types are threat to my team, so, added walking wake, flamethrower and hurricane for coverage.

After seeing some mixed ttar I’m thinking why can’t more pseudo legends run mixed sets.
Mixed (Baxcalibur) @ Weakness Policy
Ability: Thermal Exchange
Tera Type: Dragon
EVs: 84 Atk / 132 Def / 244 SpA / 48 Spe
Rash Nature
- Earthquake
- Endure
- Draco Meteor
- Ice Shard
The special attack is to max out damage against bundle (you prob need ice shard to finish it).
The physical attack is to ohko hands after close combat -1 def drop.
Speed to out speed ttar (unless their nature boosts speed), or out speed things optimised to out speed base 60s.
Rest in defense.
Functions well as a bait. (To bundle and hands)
I forgot why I changed attack to 124 later…

DRIP TEAM DUMP WOOOOOOO
all of these teams are massively outdated and wanted to make a post commemorating them.
1680203618081.png
1680203657637.png
For navigating sake, the teams towards the top are the most recent, with a lot of them being what I used in later rounds of GC (nobody is getting any of my playoff teams though :p). I have obviously spent a lot of time building this metagame and I've been able to have a lot of fun so far. Unfortunately with home on the horizon this metagame will go through another huge change, but I think it's going to bring a lot of great new elements and pokemon to the tier.

I would again like to mention this is outdated before people start trying to use these everywhere lol.

sup 1v1 made top 400 (I mean 408 but who cares) w/ this team

:iron bundle: :iron hands: :iron jugulis:
import

:iron bundle: we know this mons is goated, freeze dry and hydro hit the current meta hard af, you naturally outspeed everything (non scarfed) with booster energy

:iron hands: the rare blissey is gonna be problematic and so is bellibolt, patches up those holes effectively and helps with sturdy mons because of fake out also helps against corv

:iron jugulis: had braviary at first but lack of dark stab was hurting a lot and jug still shared the flying coverage I wanted against opposing fighting mons

also bro this team gets bodied by sylv how did I get this high on ladder maybe y’all can tweak this to be better, anyways fun team eats up most of early-mid ladder maybe I just got luck with lack of sylvs lmao

Btw if you are confident you can always predict what your opponent does next you can try this team.
Prediction Mayhem (Donphan) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Sturdy
Level: 25
Tera Type: Ground
EVs: 244 Atk
Lonely Nature
IVs: 0 HP / 0 Def / 0 SpA / 0 SpD / 0 Spe

Skill trainer (Grafaiai) @ Lagging Tail
Ability: Prankster

Tera Type: Dark
EVs: 252 HP / 224 Def / 32 SpD
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Metal Burst
- Taunt
- Will-O-Wisp
- Recover
So if Walking Wake tries to Aqua Jet you after you click endeavor you prob want to endure if they are in Rocky Helmet range
(I think it counts as another test for the Donphan set?)
The only things that come into my mind and is guaranteed to 3-0 are
- Trick Gardevoir with psyshock and moonblast (also weird)
- Sab with wisp and also wins the pp stall against your Sab (not that weird)
- non band chien pao (big hole but rare)
- Trick Specs Emu with Dazzling Gleam and a Psychic type move (biggest hole)
- Will O wisp Extreme Speed Play Rough Arcanine (We got a new hole)
(Why my teams are all weak against Chien Pao)
(Feel free to lengthen the list)
Home released forget everything above
LV 1 Donphan imported from Pokemon Go
Loses to icicle spear + eq bax
Loses to Twin Beam + Psyshock + Dazzling Gleam Giraffe

This set flips the emu match up if they are specially bulky.
Regieleki @ Liechi Berry
Ability: Transistor
Tera Type: Electric
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
IVs: 30 HP
- Substitute
- Acrobatics
- Extreme Speed
- Wild Charge

The reason I don't use band is solely because I want to abuse flying coverage...
30 HP IV allows Liechi to activate after three Subs.

Don’t send Wake if you see Regieleki, they might be the following set…
Clear Skies gone (Regieleki) @ Clear Amulet
Ability: Transistor
Tera Type: Electric
EVs: 160 HP / 252 SpD / 96 Spe
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Eerie Impulse
- Light Screen
- Rest
- Thunder Cage

Outspeeds +1 max speed Melo, max SpD, rest in HP to get better odds against max SpA specs Sylv

Yes it is a fast Garganacl, whatcha gonna do, uh? Try it, honestly it's fun. Protect for Fake Out and Custap users.
Special Meowscarada works better post-Home imo.
And for Hatterene, I've seen people calling her a fraud, but Covert Cloak synergizes well with Magic Bounce. Beats Sneasler unless it Gunk Shot turn 1 (rarely happens).

TEAM UPDATED ON 27/11/2023:
Replaced Specs with Scarf on Meowscarada.
Added Protect on Garganacl.

Annihilmonkey (Annihilape) @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Defiant

Impish Nature
- Counter
- Rage Fist

Natasha (Ninetales-Alola) (F) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Snow Warning
EVs: 112 HP / 128 Def / 252 SpA / 16 Spe
Modest Nature

Sock (Muk-Alola) (M) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Poison Touch
EVs: 252 HP / 184 Atk / 60 SpD / 12 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Poison Jab
- Knock Off
- Shadow Sneak
- Dig | Fire Punch

Bulky Ninetales can take opponents by surprise, most notably Bloodmoon who can't resist coming in, or Poison Jab/Dire Claw Sneasler. Ice Shard is for Donphan and Endure/Custap.
Muk takes care of Volcanion, Iron Moth, Heatran, Magnezone and most Ogerpons. Replace Dig with Fire Punch for Scizor.
Ape takes care of the rest, including Iron Hands and Corviknight. It's just the standard stallbreaker set but you can play around with it. Try making a version good vs Skeledirge, which is a good counter to this team.

I know it's not a perfect team (otherwise I wouldn't share it), so don't feel obliged to tear it apart. But it's been really fun to play!

Seems like we haven’t fully explored the potential of Choice Band spam
Stop Subbing (Dragapult) @ Choice Band

Iron Valiant used Disable!

It feels illegal to share teams since 1v1 is kinda dead now. But I'll still share this while I can, and because I believe in my ability to do well in spite of the knowledge of my set being leaked/revealed.
:sv/zapdos:
Zapdos @ Mental Herb
Ability: Pressure
Tera Type: Electric
EVs: 128 HP / 112 Atk / 148 Def / 36 SpA / 84 Spe
Rash Nature
- Brave Bird
- Thunderbolt
- Roost
- Protect

We got the mixed Mental Herb Zapdos as a way to beat Corviknight and Iron Valiant simultaneously. It also beats frail Ogerpon(s) and lives a CRIT Ivy Cudgel from Firepon. I'm not risking Hurricane bro. I'd rather lose to any and all Great Tusk I encounter than lose to a 30% miss. If you still doubt it's ability to beat Iron Valiant, it (in spite of a -SpDef nature) still lives a modest Choice Specs Moonblast from Iron Valiant. The only downside to this set is that it outspeeds all Corviknight and not all Volcanion -- so maybe a little bit of a bulk decrease in exchange for speed is a very real thing (siphon defense and add speed is the most optimal way).

:sv/azumarill:
Azumarill @ Mystic Water
Ability: Huge Power
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 152 HP / 168 Atk / 96 Def / 8 SpD / 84 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Play Rough
- Aqua Jet
- Liquidation
- Knock Off

Another clunky set with wavy EV spreads (I like them don't judge me). This set beats all Ting-Lu slower than it (which is most of them) and 2HKOs it always. It bulks out an adamant Ting-Lu Choice Band Earthquake - which I find to be pretty cool. It also outspeeds all little to no investment Corviknight. It's not gonna be at it, but it can try.

:sv/ursaluna-bloodmoon:
Ursaluna-Bloodmoon (M) @ Custap Berry
Ability: Mind's Eye
Tera Type: Ground
EVs: 136 HP / 252 SpA / 120 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Earth Power
- Blood Moon
- Vacuum Wave
- Endure

See, now this isn't a wavy EV spread. Quite literally has enough bulk to live a +2 adamant Gigaton Hammer from the only user of it and outspeeds minimal speed invested Skeledirge. Vacuum Wave is there in case of opposing Custap Berry sets and a generally good tool to maybe stall out the Blood Moon turn charge.

I added the underlining, bold text, and italic words for some added flare to a pretty bland thing. I like my team, and that is all that matters.

Arcanine @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 132 HP / 252 Def / 124 Spe
Bold Nature
- Fire Spin
- Snarl
- Morning Sun
- Will-O-Wisp

Meowscarada (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Protean
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Modest Nature
- Leaf Storm
- Dark Pulse
- Chilling Water
- Power Gem

Komala @ Assault Vest
Ability: Comatose
EVs: 152 HP / 92 Atk / 252 SpD / 12 Spe
Careful Nature
- Body Slam
- Earthquake
- Sucker Punch
- Iron Head | Play Rough

Originally created out of spite after getting farmed by Skeledirge. Ended up working better in general than against the croc...
Komala is obviously the special sponge and anti-Custap. EVs are for Iron Bundle and Walking Wake. Deals with Magnezone, Skeledirge, and non-physical Wisp/Toxic users. Decent chances vs Goodra-h. Can also deal with non-Reversal Valiant, and some Sylveons if you go with Iron Head.
Arcanine deals with the physical threats such as Iron Hands and Annihilape who'll love coming try their luck.
Meowscarada deals with the rest, including Ursaluna, Landorus-t, Great Tusk, Donphan, Greninja, and Ogerpon-h who'll rarely click Grass move turn 1.

Arcanine @ Assault Vest
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 212 Atk / 132 Def / 40 SpA / 124 Spe
Naughty Nature
- Flamethrower
- Snarl
- Play Rough
- Extreme Speed

Lacks recovery but stands a better chance vs Regidrago, Valiant and Custap users. EVs are for Band Adamant Haxorus and other things I forgot.

Slowking-Galar @ Assault Vest
Ability: Own Tempo
Tera Type: Poison
EVs: 208 HP / 208 Def / 92 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Sludge Bomb
- Psyshock
- Ice Beam
- Flamethrower

This mon seems like a good anti meta pick right now, counters fairies, hearthflame, has a good matchup with weakness policy dirge, and can hit relatively hard
I've EV'd it to live exactly 2 ivy cudgels from jolly hearthflame.

I like it, big fan of Assault Vest, but why not Slowbro-g instead to benefit from Quick Draw? Own Tempo is wasted on a special attacker.

It has a worse optimization of stats defensively and I don't want to change to worse stats to get a useful ability
