Tapler
Coral Bitch
Better late than never lol
Mossy Sandwich:
Thuco-Tuco (Restrictions)
I'm biased towards this one, but even I know how insane this mon is defensively. That said, we could use some more bulk rn, and it’s super early meaning that we can base our picks for nearly the entire mod around Thuco, so it’s cool in my book.
ViZar:
Cummulus (Alternatium)
And speaking of bulk, I think we need special bulk a lot more than we need physical at this point, so I really like this pick. Great fatmon.
Groudon (Ubermons)
A bulky offensive Ground that mostly stands out from the competition thanks to Drought, though our only Water isn't super scary to any Ground. Bringing in SR is big though.
Cratersmash:
Skarmory (Micrometa Mafia)
This mon may have Skarmory's bulk and U-Turn, but losing Spikes and its Steel-typing (aka the two things that make Skarm notable imo) really hurt for it. Might be a bit weak here.
Squawkerz:
Gigalith (Megas for All v7)
Idk about the mega, it doesn't feel like it has the tools to be worth committing your mega slot to on a sun team. Like, it's clearly built with Torkoal TR in mind but Torkoal doesn't exist here so lol. Hell, we don't have ANY Sun setter yet. That said, base Gigalith is pretty funny, underrated mon even if it wouldn't be super strong here.
Swellow (AbNormal)
This is a really funny Ab rep. STAB Flying Boomburst is obviously crazy but Swellow's balanced pretty well around it, its new coverage is welcome but not overbearing, and Guts Facade sets are arguably just as viable as before thanks to Flying/Fighting being excellent. Probably my favourite of the offensive Flyings this slate.
Crocodile (Crossover Chaos EX)
This one’s neat, though I fear that Sand Stream Shore Up for easy 66% recovery combined with an extremely optimized movepool for a defensive mon will make it too much.
PalpitoadChamp:
Regolord (Break This Team)
Pretty similar to Thuco, though I think I like this one a bit more thanks to Stealth Rock > Spikes and its funnier gimmick options. Also, even though its sprite was never created afaik, its concept art is epic.
G-Luke:
Hippowdon (Random Dex)
Yeah, it’s just Hippowdon. Yeah, it’s boring. That doesn’t change the fact that this is a great defensive Ground though.
Silvally-Flying (Alternatium)
Funny Gale Wings mon. I’m still not really geared towards early priority spammers but at least GW has a very clear and exploitable downside, so I wouldn’t mind to see this in.
Regic Boat:
Gigalith (Sylvemons)
Like I said earlier, base Gigalith is underrated, and whereas M4A understandably focusses on the mega, the changes here are pretty huge for base. The biggest of the bunch has to be Recrystallize, allowing this thing to properly counter Special attackers combined with Sand Stream.
Marowak (Sylvemons)
Another sick Sylve pick, this is a really cool slow breaker. We do have a lot of breakers right now, but it’s so early on the mod that another is A-OK rn imo.
Moretto:
Spinni (Abismons)
Maybe I’m missing something, but this mon kind of feels at odds with itself. Its stats imply a fast offensive threat but its movepool doesn’t really lean into that, instead mostly leaning towards support and bulk. Its abilities are super weird as well, with Technician not doing much for it and Swift Swim making me think this is a rain mon with Hurricane and Surf but then leading back into the support movepool thing.
Sandaconda (Bust a Move)
Sandaconda is another really underrated mon. It’s a great support Sand setter, especially thanks to Glare in the back. I’m still opposed to Bust mons rn myself, but the current Bust changes don’t affect it too much and its lower power level leaves a lot of room for growth, so it’s about as good as a Bust rep is going to get.
Silvally-Rock (Alternatium)
Now this one’s pretty cool. Take the good stuff I said about Sylve Gigalith and then throw that eonto a more offensively-geared mon and you’ve got Silv-Rock.
