Staraptor @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 240 HP / 252 Def / 16 Spe
Impish Nature
- Defog
- Roost
- Brave Bird
- U-turn

On Normal teams, Staraptor supports Porygon2 + Chansey cores with its acceptable defensive stats that are complemented by its access to Intimidate and Defog, as well as a secondary Flying typing that allows it to switch into some Fighting-types. Reliable recovery allows Staraptor to switch into Fighting-types like Heracross and Cobalion consistently throughout matches, and 16 Speed EVs let Staraptor outpace Adamant Breloom and Bisharp. Brave Bird lets it OHKO some. U-turn can be used to let Staraptor pivot into either a defensive teammate or an offensive teammate because its average Speed lets it outpace the majority of walls as well as move after offensive Pokemon. Close Combat can be used over U-turn to let Staraptor OHKO Bisharp. Staraptor forms a formidable defensive core with the aforementioned core, and Ditto is able to handle the setup sweepers Staraptor struggles with. Wallbreakers like Diggersby and Meloetta are also good teammates, as they appreciate the free switches granted by Staraptor’s slow U-turn.

  • I'd put defog as the first move.
  • Mention how Brave Bird allows it to check Fighting-types beyond just its flying typing allowing it to switch into Fighting-type attacks.
  • Talk about how U-turn is used as a pivot into either your Defensive or Offensive Pokemon due to its middle-ground speed (outspeeding slow pokemon, but underspeeding fast pokemon) - do this before mentioning that Close Combat can be run over u-turn. I'd remove the part about Toxic.
  • The sentence about P2+Chansey is kinda repetitive with the opening statement, I'd adjust both so they don't say the same thing (actual different info).
  • I don't think PZ is a good example of what Ditto beats for Staraptor (neither is SD terrak)
  • Mention MLop

Rest is good QC 1/1

On Normal teams, (AC) Staraptor supports the Porygon2 + Chansey cores on Normal-type teams, sporting with its acceptable defensive stats that are complemented by its access to Intimidate, (RC) and Defog, and as well as a secondary Flying-type Flying typing that allows it to switch into some Fighting-types. Reliable recovery allows it Staraptor to switch into Fighting-types like Heracross and Cobalion consistently throughout matches, (AC) and the 16 Speed EVs lets let Staraptor outpace Adamant Breloom and Bisharp. Brave Bird lets it OHKO some of the aforementioned (aforementioned is used to refer to things mentioned paragraphs or multiple sentences earlier in an article, there is one mention of Fighting-types in every sentence so far) Fighting-types such as Heracross and Breloom among others (such as implies there are more than just what's listed). Other options include running Close Combat over U-turn to OHKO Bisharp. (RP) U-turn can be used a to let Staraptor pivot into either a defensive teammate or an offensive teammate because its average thanks to an average Speed stat that lets it outpace the majority of walls and underspeed as well as move after (underspeed is a term for trickroom) offensive Pokemon. Close Combat can be used over U-turn to let Staraptor OHKO Bisharp. (AP) Staraptor forms a formidable defensive core with the aforementioned Eviolite core, (AC) and Ditto is able to handle set up Pokemon the setup sweepers Staraptor struggles with. Wallbreakers like Diggersby and Meloetta are also good teammates, (AC) as they that appreciate the free switches granted by Staraptor’s slow U-turn.
