I have been hosting this project since quite some time now, but I'm struggling to find enough time to keep hosting. That's why I'm asking here if someone is willing to take over this project (one or two persons). If you are interested, dm me on Smogon or Discord (doom_desire#4292). Thanks in advance.
I'll probably launch the next round on Sunday (and it will be my last one).

Hey there, this is my last time hosting VOTW. Here again, if you are interested in hosting this project, dm me on Smogon or discord (doom_desire#4292). I've also fully updated the Archive to make hosting easier.

With that saying, let's feature a deadly sweeper who sees some usage right now in SS OU: Celesteela.

:SS/Celesteela:
Celesteela @ Power Herb
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Autotomize
- Meteor Beam
- Air Slash
- Flamethrower

If Defensive Celesteela is not common in SS OU, offensive Celesteela on the other hand can be a deadly threat thanks to its new move: Meteor Beam. Paired up with a Power Herb, Meteor Beam is a powerful move that also raise Celesteela's Special Attack. This set is pretty straightforward, you set up an Autotomize to outspeed almost every unboosted Pokemon in the metagame. Then, you fire off a powerful Meteor Beam to boost your damage output too. If you happen to get a kill with your Celesteela, Beast Boost will also rise your Special Attack, making Celesteela even harder to switch into. Furthermore, Celesteela's great typing and bulk allow it to setup relatively easily against most team, meaning that in most game you will put at least a decent amount of work with this set. As for the set, Autotomize and Meteor Beam are the two boosting tools, while Air Slash is its main STAB option and Flamethrower brings the coverage needed to hit Steel types. Who would you run to check or counter this deadly Ultra Beast? Let's find out!

Submission phase will end on next Friday, good luck!

Heatran @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 128 SpD / 128 Spe
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Lava Plume
- Earth Power
- Taunt
- Toxic

Specially defensive Heatran is a great counter to Celesteela. It switches into Meteor Beam with relative ease, outspeeds Celesteela thanks to its 128 Spe investment, and 2HKOs with Lava Plume before it could get hit by another Meteor Beam. If Celesteela goes for Autotomize when Heatran switches in, Heatran still wins very, very often, despite being at risk of flinching from Air Slash.
+1 252+ SpA Celesteela Meteor Beam vs. 252 HP / 128+ SpD Heatran: 144-170 (37.3 - 44%) -- 100% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
0 SpA Heatran Lava Plume vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Celesteela: 216-254 (64.4 - 75.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

The calcs below are done after Heatran takes a max roll Meteor Beam:
+1 252+ SpA Celesteela Air Slash vs. 252 HP / 128+ SpD Heatran: 67-80 (17.3 - 20.7%) -- 19.1% chance to 4HKO after Leftovers recovery
+1 252+ SpA Celesteela Air Slash vs. 252 HP / 128+ SpD Heatran: 67-80 (17.3 - 20.7%) -- 10.6% chance to 3HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

:ss/blacephalon:
Blacephalon @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Flamethrower
- Overheat

- Shadow Ball
- Trick
Scarf Blace is a check to Celesteela. It outspeeds +2 Celesteela and OHKOs with Overheat. +1 Air Slash is 12% chance to ko so it can switch in on flamethrower or slash and can OHKO.
252 SpA Blacephalon Overheat vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Celesteela: 470-554 (140.2 - 165.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 SpA Blacephalon Flamethrower vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Celesteela: 324-384 (96.7 - 114.6%) -- 81.3% chance to OHKO
+1 252+ SpA Celesteela Air Slash vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Blacephalon: 213-252 (86.2 - 102%) -- 12.5% chance to OHKO

Red Raven

I COULD BE BANNED!
:sm/blissey:
Blissey @ Boots
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Toxic
- Teleport
- Soft Boiled
- Seismic Toss

Just a blob doing blob stuff. This blob sits on this thing and isn't really bother by flinches unless it happens consecutively far too many times and seismic tosses the thing until it dies

:ss/tyranitar:
Tyranitar @ Choice Band
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Stone Edge
- Crunch
- Fire Punch
- Ice Punch

Tyranitar is a check. Thanks to the special defense boost from Sandstorm, it can switch in on most of Celesteela's attacks fairly comfortably, then threaten a 2HKO with Stone Edge, Crunch, or Fire Punch. Outside of the relatively rare Flash Cannon, the only attack Celesteela has that can 2HKO Tyranitar in return is Meteor Beam, and even then, Celesteela has to already be at +1 before Tyranitar switches in to do so reliably.

:tyranitar:
252+ Atk Choice Band Tyranitar Stone Edge vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Celesteela: 268-316 (80 - 94.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ Atk Choice Band Tyranitar Crunch vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Celesteela: 214-253 (63.8 - 75.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ Atk Choice Band Tyranitar Fire Punch vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Celesteela: 270-318 (80.5 - 94.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ Atk Choice Band Tyranitar Ice Punch vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Celesteela: 135-159 (40.2 - 47.4%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

:celesteela:
+1 252+ SpA Celesteela Meteor Beam vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Tyranitar in Sand: 125-148 (36.6 - 43.4%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
+2 252+ SpA Celesteela Meteor Beam vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Tyranitar in Sand: 167-197 (48.9 - 57.7%) -- 96.1% chance to 2HKO
252+ SpA Celesteela Air Slash vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Tyranitar in Sand: 39-47 (11.4 - 13.7%) -- possible 8HKO
+1 252+ SpA Celesteela Air Slash vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Tyranitar in Sand: 59-69 (17.3 - 20.2%) -- possible 5HKO
+2 252+ SpA Celesteela Air Slash vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Tyranitar in Sand: 78-93 (22.8 - 27.2%) -- 53.3% chance to 4HKO
252+ SpA Celesteela Flamethrower vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Tyranitar in Sand: 31-37 (9 - 10.8%) -- possibly the worst move ever
+1 252+ SpA Celesteela Flamethrower vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Tyranitar in Sand: 47-55 (13.7 - 16.1%) -- possible 7HKO
+2 252+ SpA Celesteela Flamethrower vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Tyranitar in Sand: 62-74 (18.1 - 21.7%) -- possible 5HKO

:Regieleki:
Regieleki @ Heavy Duty Boots
Ability: Transistor
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Hyper Beam
- Volt Switch
- Rapid Spin

Regieleki makes for a great offensive CHECK due to being able to out speed even after automatize and OHKO it. You can KO it with whatever item as long as you invest in a bit of SPA. Surprisingly Regieleki makes a decent defensive check, being able to take an +1 flamethrower, so with a bit of pivoting you can force it out again.

252 SpA Transistor Regieleki Thunderbolt vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Celesteela: 362-428 (108 - 127.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO

+1 252+ SpA Celesteela Flamethrower vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Regieleki: 243-286 (80.7 - 95%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Toxapex @ Black Sludge
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Scald
- Recover
- Haze
- Light Screen

With light screen, max sp. def and haze it is able to beat celesteela by being able to threaten burns on it and stalling it out with haze, which limits the amount of boosts it can get to 1 as you should always haze away its boosts as quickly as possible. Light screen makes it so any attacks bounce of toxapex such as +1 air slash doing 20% max. Toxapex is a counter cuz it can switch into rocks -12.5% -> meteor beam which is 41% max -> 38% max -> and recover stall it as air slash is doing 40% max or you can haze it right away and have another teammate counter it as it no longer has a free turn to meteor beam you so pokemon like zeraora, heatran, tyranitar, and more can freely switch in. Even if it can flinch you, you can easily gain free entry by switching into the autotomize and light screen right away to make sure it is a piece of cake to take down

+1 252+ SpA Celesteela Meteor Beam vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Toxapex: 106-125 (34.8 - 41.1%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock and Black Sludge recovery
+1 252+ SpA Celesteela Air Slash vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Toxapex: 100-118 (32.8 - 38.8%) -- 99.2% chance to 3HKO after Stealth Rock and Black Sludge recovery
252+ SpA Celesteela Air Slash vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Toxapex: 67-79 (22 - 25.9%) -- possible 5HKO after Stealth Rock and Black Sludge recovery
+1 252+ SpA Celesteela Air Slash vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Toxapex through Light Screen: 50-59 (16.4 - 19.4%) -- possible 7HKO after Stealth Rock and Black Sludge recovery

:zeraora:
Zeraora @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Plasma Fists
- Knock Off
- Close Combat
- Bulk Up
I'm going to go with last week's mon as a check to Celesteela. Zeraora is the second fastest OU mon in the tier, only barely being outsped by +2 Celesteela. Celesteela relies on boosts to have play against Zera. Knock Off cripples Celesteela's only offensive option in Meteor Beam by removing Power Herb, while also leaving it in guaranteed Plasma Fists range. Flamethrower tickles, burn doesn't stop an easy KO, and Air Slash has like a 3% chance to flinch enough times to win. Even the 120 BP Meteor Beam doesn't guarantee a 2HKO, ignoring the charge-up time. The only way Zera loses is if it gets unlucky AFTER switching into a +2 speed Celesteela. Even Bulk Up is usable to guarantee a KO. Zera can also sweep multiple other mons, making it useful outside of a vacuum as well.

+1 252+ SpA Celesteela Flamethrower vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Zeraora: 170-200 (53.6 - 63%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ SpA Celesteela Flamethrower vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Zeraora: 113-134 (35.6 - 42.2%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
252+ SpA Celesteela Meteor Beam vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Zeraora: 151-178 (47.6 - 56.1%) -- 82.4% chance to 2HKO
252+ SpA Celesteela Air Slash vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Zeraora: 71-84 (22.3 - 26.4%) -- 14.2% chance to 4HKO
+1 252 Atk Zeraora Plasma Fists vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Celesteela: 432-510 (128.9 - 152.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 Atk Zeraora Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Celesteela: 93-110 (27.7 - 32.8%) -- guaranteed 4HKO
252 Atk Zeraora Plasma Fists vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Celesteela: 288-342 (85.9 - 102%) -- 12.5% chance to OHKO

Tapu Koko @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Electric Surge
EVs: 252 SpA / 252 Spe / 4 SpD
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Dazzling Gleam
- U-Turn
- Roost

Another Electric-type, another check; while Koko doesn't want to switch into boosted attacks and is outsped at +2, if it switches in as Steela clicks Autotomize, it can tank any one attack and smack back with TBolt.

+1 252+ SpA Celesteela Meteor Beam vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Tapu Koko: 238-280 (84.6 - 99.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
+1 252+ SpA Celesteela Flamethrower vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Tapu Koko: 178-210 (63.3 - 74.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 SpA Tapu Koko Thunderbolt vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Celesteela in Electric Terrain: 306-360 (91.3 - 107.4%) -- 43.8% chance to OHKO (guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock)
