Randbats Spotlight Tournament
Welcome to the seventh bimonthly Spotlight Tour! This iteration will feature the recently elected Doubles Broken Cup format. This tournament is your chance to showcase your skills in Doubles Broken Cup in a single elimination best-of-3 series.
What is Doubles Broken Cup?
Exactly one year ago, Broken Cup was the first format to kick off the bimonthly spotlight project. For those of you who don't know it, Broken Cup is a modified version of Hackmons Cup in which useless moves, items and abilities were removed to maximize chaos and fun, and only the strongest Pokémon could be generated.
Behind the indisputably strong logic of "double the mons, double the fun!", Doubles Broken Cup has adapted the beloved format into a new form. Some tweaks were made to the original code in order to guarantee a very broken experience for doubles as well.
The winner of the Spotlight Tournament will receive the Room Prize Winner rank in the Random Battles room for a month and the possibility to pick a format for the next Randbats Spotlight poll!
How does the tour work?
It’s simple:
1. Contact your opponent on their Smogon wall and decide on a time to battle.
2. Battle each other in the format “Doubles Broken Cup”. This format can be found under 'Randomized Format Spotlight', at the top of the third column. Alternatively, use /challenge Doubles Broken Cup. You can also run the entire series and keep track of the results of each game with /challenge Doubles Broken Cup@@@bestof=3
3. The first player to 2 wins advances to the next round.
Note that this tournament will end before the next Randbats Spotlight Ladder commences, i.e., before May 2024. This will determine the pace of the tournament. For this reason, extensions will generally NOT be granted.
Please note:
1. All scheduling attempts MUST be done publicly on Smogon Walls. No other proof of communication will count for act calls regarding scheduling attempts.
2. You MUST post replays of your wins.

The winner of the Spotlight Tournament will receive the Room Prize Winner rank in the Random Battles room for a month and the possibility to pick a format for the next Randbats Spotlight poll!
How does the tour work?
It’s simple:
1. Contact your opponent on their Smogon wall and decide on a time to battle.
2. Battle each other in the format “Doubles Broken Cup”. This format can be found under 'Randomized Format Spotlight', at the top of the third column. Alternatively, use /challenge Doubles Broken Cup. You can also run the entire series and keep track of the results of each game with /challenge Doubles Broken Cup@@@bestof=3
3. The first player to 2 wins advances to the next round.
Note that this tournament will end before the next Randbats Spotlight Ladder commences, i.e., before May 2024. This will determine the pace of the tournament. For this reason, extensions will generally NOT be granted.
Please note:
1. All scheduling attempts MUST be done publicly on Smogon Walls. No other proof of communication will count for act calls regarding scheduling attempts.
2. You MUST post replays of your wins.
