We are using the pre-DLC metagame for all games. I've been told PS! will have a challenge option for this even after release. Use that over the DLC option.

Generally doesn't happen because the chance is low, but if a repeated pairing shows up the way this is resolved is:
Split the first pairing and swap opponents. First left / left. If that is a repeat, swap left / right.
If this still results in a repeated pairing repeat with the second pairing, and so on.
