Type: Steel/Flying
Base Stats: 65 HP / 80 Atk / 140 Def / 40 Spatk / 70 Spdef / 70 Spe
Abilities: Keen Eye (1) | Sturdy (2) | Weak Armor (H)
Notable Moves:
-
Brave Bird
-Roost
-Spikes
-Body press
-Iron Defense
-Whirlwind/Roar
-Stealth Rock
-Taunt
-Drill Run
-Tera Blast

Pros:
-Great hazard setter and wall that has good matchup into some of the tiers top threats such as Kingambit, Physical Iron Valiant, Great Tusk.
Cons:
-
Doesn't have much coverage outside of drill run and even then has trouble fitting it on defensive sets
-Can be pretty passive if it elects to drop whirlwind/roar for another move and struggles to take special hits even when invested.

Terastal Potential:
-
It has a bit of flexibility, Tera Water and Dragon helps Skarmory deal with physical fire types and electric types attacks and take those types of coverage moves.
-Tera Ground helps Skarmory absorb volt switch and electric type attacks while making it no longer weak to physical fire types. It also boost drill run damage on niche sets.
-Like Corviknight, Tera fighting helps Skarmory check Kingambit and other dark types more effectively while also absorbing knock.

Potential Sets:
Utility
Skarmory @ Rocky Helmet / Heavy Duty Boots
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 160 Def / 96 Spe
Tera Type: Dragon / Fighting
Bold Nature
- Iron Defense
- Spikes
- Roost
- Body Press
I'm taking this set from natdex, as mentioned above the set aims to set spikes and wall physical threats like Weavile, Kingambit, physical valiant without tbolt, etc. The speed EVs outspeed max speed adamant Kingambit and the rest goes into bulk.

Lead
Skarmory @ Red Card/Mental Herb
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Tera Type: Dragon
Adamant/Jolly Nature
- Brave Bird/Iron Head
- Spikes
- Taunt
- Stealth Rock
This set is more niche but its straight forward; get up as many hazards as possible and taunt whatever is trying setup or remove hazards. Iron Head hits hatterene for decent damage with good chance to 2hko if adamant nature and depending on hatterenes bulk investment. Brave Bird has good coverage against everything else. Mental herb is for opposing leads taunt; it allows skarmory to taunt the opposing lead back. Red Card phases out sweepers that dont care about skarmory's taunt and STAB move of choice or outspeed it and setup anyway.

Other Options:
For the utility set, Iron defense and/or body press can be changed for solid moves such as Brave Bird, Stealth rock, Whirlwind, and Iron Head.
