Sableye features mostly on balance teams, providing various forms of support and most notably being one of the best counters to a top tier threat in Sawk. It gives physical attackers, like Sawk, Gourgeist-S, and Rhydon, a lot of trouble with its Prankster Will-O-Wisp, making up for its mediocre Defense. Encore shuts down setup sweepers such as Klinklang, Qwilfish, and Silvally formes. Knock Off cripples item-dependent switch-ins such as Clefairy and Ninetales. Due to Sableye's Fairy weakness and low Special Defense, it is setup fodder for Alcremie and vulnerable to Jynx and Appletun. Having switch-ins to them such as Klinklang and Articuno is necessary. Prankster Sableye also struggles against Dark-types, so consider pairing it with Gurdurr and Alcremie. It also appreciates partners like Rhydon and Stunfisk to deal with troublesome Fire-types such as Rapidash and Ninetales.

The darkness will engulf your hopes in ZU! Sableye acts as a good physicall wall in the tier, thanks to its typing, great support ability, access to reliable recovery, and good utility moves. Therefore, Sableye is expected to figure feature mostly ion balanced teams, providing various forms of support. With this well-prepared toolkit, (might be fluff but we'll let it stay for now) Sableye gives a lot of trouble to physicall attackers like Sawk, Klinklang and Rhydon a lot of trouble with its Prankster Will-O-Wisp enchanced by Prankster, making up for its mediocre defense; its immunity to Fighting-type is a particular problem for Sawk makes it one of the best counters to the former. (I would consider, if possible, trying to make a point about Sawk earlier given that it being an amazing counter to it is one of the biggest reasons as to why you would use this Pokemon) Sableye can deal with Encore shuts down setup sweepers, such as Klinklang, Qwilfish and Silvally formes., by traping them with Encore, and forcing a switch. Knock Off is its only damaging move, but mostly(fluff) used to remove foe's itens. Knock Off cripples item dependent switch-ins such as Clefairy and Ninetales. Heavy-Duty boots complement the set with Recovery to ensure it will remain healty throught the game, wich is important considerating Sableye low defensive stats. (fluffy, generic) The Due to Sableye's weakness to Fairy-type plus and low Special Defense, it is vulnerable to Alcremie, Jynx, and Appletun, with the former able to freely setup on it. Having switch-ins to them such as Klinklang and Articuno is necessary. (Always mention answers to what the mon is weak to) makes a bad matchup when facing strong special attackers, and to face Aroma Veil Alcremie is a no no. Sableye also struggles against Dark-types due to their immunity to status, so consider pairing it with Gurdurr and Alcremie. too, due to their Prankster immunity. (If you still have enough characters, mention that it also struggles against Fire-types like Ninetales and Rapidash so having switch-ins to them such as... is a good idea)

Sableye is one of the best counters to Sawk, currently a top tier treath in ZU, because of its immunity to Fighting-type. Encore shuts down setup sweepers, such as Klinklang, Qwilfish and Silvally formes. Knock Off cripples item dependent switch-ins such as Clefairy and Ninetales. Due to Sableye's weakness to Fairy-type and low Special Defense, it is vulnerable to Alcremie, Jynx, and Appletun, with the former able to freely setup on it.
