Issue: Gen7 Open Sign ups

As you all might know, there has been a problem regarding the sign up process for the Gen7 Open. The bracket-maker that is used in order to create each round's bracket works by taking a number of players which is a either a multiple of 2 or a multiple of 6 (so that there's a 2-way or 3-way finals). The number of sign ups for the Gen7 Open was 553, so that the bracket-maker made a 512-player tournament (for reference, it would have needed 576 ins to make a 768-player tournament which is the closest bigger tournament). As a result of this unfortunate event, some players were left out of the Gen7 Open.

Solution: Hosts will check the scheduling attempts from the Round 1 players. Were they to spot an innactive scheduler (someone who has not tried to schedule/ answered their opponent's schedule attempts), they would subbed them out for one of the players that was left out of the tournament.

Sorry for this inconvenience and hope that everyone affected can finally play.

Random Battle Lead
Because there's been some questions and confusion, we want to be clear:

There are currently 9 players vying for the 30th/31st/32nd spots (spreadsheet here). These players WILL play in a bo5 tiebreaker bracket, taking place between the end of the Gen 9 Open and the start of the playoffs, to determine final playoffs seeding.

Tiebreaker matchups will be determined by ranked choice. Each round, competitors will rank their top 5 Opens (not formats—so, for example, “Gameboy Classic” rather than “Gen 2”), then share that ranking privately with hosts (Javi and myself; Fragments has stepped down as Slam III host, and we thank him for his service! <3). From those submitted rankings, the top 3 Opens from the higher seed, and top 2 from the lower seed (as determined by win%), will be chosen, in alternating order, and announced; in the event of ties/repeats, the next Open on the respective player’s ranking will be chosen. No repeats are allowed.

Once the 5 Opens for each series have been determined, players will battle. The higher seed will pick from among the 5 Opens for game 1, and loser picks afterward. The first player to 3 wins advances to the next round.

*Kinetic is currently still competing in the Gen 9 Open. If they win in the semifinals, they'll graduate out of the TB.

The tiebreaker will begin soon—as soon as we know if Kinetic1000 will be included or not (see above, in the spoiler)—so in the meantime, tagged players, please message me AND Javi your ranked Opens for R1 of the bracket. The sooner you submit your choices, the better-prepared we'll be to spin up the tiebreaker quickly.

Note also that hosts WILL be aggressive about setting deadlines for Open-ranking submissions, and we WILL harangue players to get them submitted quickly (this will hold true during playoffs, as well). Let's keep things moving, folks; the playoffs await you!
