Hey guys. So if you haven't seen this
super cool thread about changing the analysis format or seen any other tiers
like UU start to enact analysis changes yet, I would go check out what's been going on. Basically we're going to be changing the standards to which we hold both writers and QCers in an effort to reduce the length and fluff contained in analyses.
For writers, this means making an effort to cut back on unnecessary information and fluff, as well as no longer being required to point out incredibly basic things in your analyses. If a move is as simple as basic STAB, don't feel the need to go on with "Flare Blitz is your strongest attack that threatens Pokemon such as Lilligant". If a set is as simple as 252 Atk / 252 Spe, if it's incredibly obvious why something is holding a Choice Scarf, etc. then you don't need to fully write that out. Obviously what is necessary and what is not will change from analysis to analysis. Scarf might not need a full explanation on Primeape but it should probably get one for something like Aurorus which doesn't act like your typical scarfer. Also, we're going to be cutting back on all those things in other options that only end up there to beef up the section. This should never have been a thing in the first place, only truly viable options belong there. If you want a second explanation of these changes, you can check that UU link above to see how they explained it.
For QCers, that just means we're going to be enforcing these new standards on new analyses. These won't be applied retroactively (not yet anyway), and we won't make people change anything that's already written up. Anything at 0/3 and more important 1/3s is fair game though and if any writers have something at that stage, consider editing your analysis now.
Hopefully these changes make it better for both writers and readers of these analyses. Thanks for reading.
