Ok so I have been hoarding all these teams since the beginning of glsam and I figured I should just dump them bc I have a lot of fun with these teams and I hope some others can get some fun out of it as well. Obviously a lot of theses teams might have some noticeable weaknesses and stuff but they tend to be kinda minor. I usually play HO and Rain mainly so expect a lot of theses teams to be at least some sort of offense. Anyways lets just get on to the teams n_n!.
Also Decision Makers don't hurt me for stealing your format. Its so elegant!

My god this team has been one of my most consistent teams in awhile and has allowed me to reach the top ten of the ladder. To start off, the basis of this team is pull off a Qwilphish or Swampert sweep. Qwilphish and Swampert make a pretty cool core because Qwilphish takes cares of of the grass types that PuP Pert has trouble going through, such as shaymin, whimsicott, rotom-m and abomasnow while Pert can just clean way of all the steel types for banded Qwilphish to nuke through the opposing team. From there, I added the must haves on rain, Tornadus and Azelf. Azelf gets hazards up easily vs the whole tier, with only suicide aero and opposing lead Azelf being the only real problems for getting rocks up. I chose a kinda odd set without any psychic coverage because most of the time you rather click Explosion to get immediate momentum without sacrificing too many rain turns (if you end up getting Rain Dance off) while taunt is for disabling common lead match ups from getting up rocks, which can be a annoying for switching for the sac of momentum, or just to get rain off. On Tornadus, I have seen a lot of people run a more offensive set which does help weaken some grass types for standard rain cores (pert, kabutoprs, kingdra, etc), however I went with a more bulky set so I get the full potential out of Tornadus, which is really just getting up rain consistently. Whats really cool is that bulky Tornadus can actually switch into almost every grass type, either outspeed them or avoid the 2ohko, get up rain, and or spam Hurricane. Also, Bulky Tornadus gives a better chance to win VS bulkier / stall teams because it can take and switch into hits and then proceed to taunt, however rocks are very annoying bc they wear down Torn decently. Next, I had a glaring weakness to cune and scald is ofc going to be a pain in my ass so I just went with Ludicolo in order to at least pressure the cune not to come in or else have a large dent put through the opposing team due to the sheer power and coverage Ludicolo has. The down side to Ludicolo is that it needs to run modest to 2ohko Suicune, meaning that it misses out on a decent speed tier of scarfed base 100s while rain is up. Finally, around the time this team was built, P2 was getting a lot hype due to Fuga's most recent team. So at this point in building I was weak as hell to Hydreigon, had only decent checks to bee, struggled with Cress when PuP Pert was gone, no switch ins to MAero that weren't a win con, and I needed a second check to most grass types. The only logical answer to all this was to give in to the trend and use P2 and holy cow its sooo helpful at times. The reason why this team is called Sequoia is because I actually built it in the car while on the way to visit the Sequoia trees (which were p. cool. felt like I was on Endor.. god im a nerd) and finished the peak with the team right when I arrived at the Sequoia park.

Around the time that I was building this team, I was playing around in BW UU and was trying to build a decent team with the Song Bird, aka Metal Sound Zapdos. After numerous of creating literal meme teams while wasting my time in a study hall, I created a BW UU team that wasn't memes and had a good overall answer to everything in the meta while still having a really neat offensive core. I really enjoyed play testing that team, which you can find in the BW UU section of this team dump. So then I started to think to myself if it was possible for Song Bird to be used on rain bc it broke many Special and Physical walls, or at least threatened them to switch out and rack up rock damage. I ended up taking this into account while building the team. Metal Sound Zapdos brakes down a lot of things for Pert, Kingdra, and Kabutops like grass types, bulky SpD walls (*cough* blissey), and much more while still having pretty cool type synergy with the rest of the wall breakers. There isn't that much cool stuff in this team because Rain can be a pretty one dimensional play style in terms of team members and their roles but this team is still really cool to mess around with, especially higher ladder where fat stuff is everywhere.

LAST RAIN TEAM I SWEAR BUT RAIN IS SOO GOOD IN THIS META! While discovering RU and learning its meta, ofc I went to my rice and beans with the play style I like best, rain. I saw that Fletchinder actually provided some cool cleaning abilities and also having a presence that always forces the opponent to play cautious with their grass types or else have them destroyed by Lin the Flechinder. So I went with more generic rain with pert, torn, azelf, kingdra, but then I chose Magneton as my last slot. The reason for this is that it trapped steels, even though literally no steel type can take Kingdra + Pert, however Magneton provided a better match up vs stall bc I could end up trapping things if I really need to, I got Volt Switch support, while also having a fairy answer. I have had no real significant success with this team, however its fun to use and its not like it does utter ass in the tier.

When I built this team I like to say that I wasn't as good as I am today (lmao who am I kidding like ladder is gonna improve my performance) Anyways, I was going through the common trend on smogon "I quit mons" phase, which didn't last that long (no wonder). I was really bored when it came to team building and needed something anti meta that wasn't something like acupressure Dodrio or Rain so I went with Mega Glalie. I started off with my suicide lead of Mamoswine because I 100% of the time could get rocks vs the opposing lead while still giving me a huge advantage to begin with because then once rocks were up. Mamoswine could start weakening things when rocks were up which helped me a lot vs offensive teams. Mamoswine punched the necessary holes vs offense and balanced builds so Glalie and Barbs can run crazy. Mamoswine is also a cool option because it lures a lot of water types in because literally they are the anything besides stuff like bronzong that can with stand its STAB combos. From there, the water types would go off and scald, bringing Mamo to ~20% and then letting Mamo get off a Endeavor so that they are crazy low and ready for being picked off. Next, I noticed that Mamo wouldn't be there forever so I added specs chandy to just shred through defensive cores with the aid of Glalie. Then, I noticed the one thing Mamo doesn't have going for it is that it can't stop hazards from coming up like Azelf and Aerodactyl can, so I added mixed defog mence so that 1) I can get a fighting check that isn't as susceptible to knock off as Chandy 2) I can get hazards that consist of more than just one Stealth Rock bc Glalie + Chandy is really weak to hazards, even though this means I would remove my own rocks permanently and 3) I got a fairy Lure bc literally why not. its helpful as hell and does its job. Next I added Moxie Scarfed Heracross to break more steel types and just in general be hard to switch in, making it a nice offensive wall destructing core with Chandy. Also Heracross is nice for suprising speed control! From here, I had no clue what the hell I wanted in this slot. I realized that Entei is a bitch and that it destroys my team. I ended up adding a p. niche answer of Barbaracle because its deadly if its gets up a shell smash, and the rest of my team was just bait for Entei. This team is so fun and easy to use, and has actually won me some room tours before.

I admit it... this is a counter team to Fuga. I built this team for like Round 6 or 7 of the Lower Tier Tour or something like that (which I got to loser bracket finals!) Once again, Fuga was innovating the meta when this team came about so I figured he would bring a team with a W/F/G core, p2, beedrill, and cobalion. However, I'm not too good at coming up with cores so I went and divided into the Cores thread and discovered this core posted by LilOu iirc and actually ended up creating this team, which is literally one mon off from his team featuring the same core. Anyways I ramble wayy to muchm and should probably explain the team. First, I started with the core of Cobalion / Azelf / Dragalge because nothing on Fuga's team wanted to take a +2 Psyshock or at least any of the coverage azelf provides, while Dragalge and Cobalion just pressured a lot of his teams and common cores during this time in the meta. From there, I figured I shouldn't just relied on Dragalge for a fighting answer because it gets really wore down, and Azelf simply isnt a great fighting check bc knock off sorta screws it over. Whimsicott also gave a lot of pressure vs set up sweepers like salamence, slurpuff, and lucario, while still giving me a psudo form of speed control vs stuff like Maeo, Crobats that switch in, and pidgeot (which was still in the tier at the time of this team being built) Next, Hydreigon seemed a pretty cool answer for a lot fire types, while still luring p2 and Snorlax so that It can fire off a Superpower so I just slapped it on there. Finally, I just added pedo for late game cleaning.

It explained this team in an rmt and this whole dump is getting larger than my aunt susan so just refer to it here

Ok this is it for the ORAS section, I have a lot of many teams I could share but then it would be given away and not as reliable bc some people might know the sets. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Black and White Teams

So ima give a quick back story on my BW UU career. I have recently picked up BW UU and have studied it intensely.. meaning just browsing and reading about it while bored in class. Some how, I ended up reaching Semi's of the most recent older gen UU tour located in the UU Sub forum so hopefully these teams can you reach you just as far if not farther!

+King UU: Stealth Rock wasn't really a necessity in Gen 5

Literally this quote inspired it all. I used this team in all but 1 or 2 of my BW UU games in the before mentioned tour. I had a lot of success with this team, despite it causing a lot hax yet being prone to them itself (lmao like what team isn't prone to hax since scald was a move) First, I started off with Xatu and Azelf in order to get hazards on the field, and keep them off while still doing a shit ton! Azelf can also be Smeargle but Azelf is way more reliable in terms of stopping hazards and getting them up, but forfeits the ability to spam things to sleep with Dark Void/Spore. Whats cool about the Xatu set is that it can be a cool answer to stuff like slowking and such, which the team doesn't really struggle with but I just don't see it a lot and I need to make this set sound like its amazing when its just good. All the members of the team are extreme wall breakers once they set up. Cobalion destroys steels, rocks, and surprises fire types for Venomoth. Porygon-Z just brakes any wall. Venomoth is a cool option because it can move around status among the opposing team, allowing free turns for set up, and also just in general being annoying. Finally, the god himself, Kingdra. Barely anything can resist his STABS resulting in a lot of holes paved through teams, however Outrage comes at its down falls. I also run Hydro Pump on it because it can still then do a lot of damage to physically defensive Steel Types.

Look! Another team I made during a study hall. Anyways, I chose to make a team around Metal Sound Zapdos and really appreciated how much switches it forced. I went a head and paired up up with SD Min because the sheer presence a +2 shaymin has on bulkier teams, so between the switches and hard hits from shaymin, opposing cores would be weakened thoroughly. Next, I threw on Houndoom as a tini check + pursuit trapping is handy vs bulkier teams. Then, I slapped on druddigon to make common scarfers regret locking themselves into move, plus it provided rocks. Houndoom and Zapdos are really needed to make the team function so I added an offensive Toise in order to get rocks off, plus it breaks common spin blockers, freeing the way for the rest of the team. Finally I added stall breaker Mew bc its really handy vs stall and in general sponges a lot of needed hits.

I Remember You

This is my newest UU team, and one of my best ones at that. It's an offensive team based around something I've really liked lately, Specs Roserade. Now you might say "Ha ha that's stupid you're a noob", but Specs Roserade is actually pretty good. It is a great wallbreaker that 2HKOs a lot of it's resists and is overall a really hard hitter. I added DD Tyrantrum as a sweeper and another wallbreaker. It also helps Roserade with it's Fire and Flying weakness. Cobalion was added to set up Rocks, check Steels, provide momentum with Volt Switch, and be an overall awesome team supporter that hits hard af as well. I had a pretty big Fire weakness up to that point, even with Rantrum, so I added SubCM Cune to check them and set up and Scald shit up. Rotom-H was added to add more speed to the team, check flying types and other typings, like grasses and Fires, and it can Trick it's Choice Scarf to walls like Snorlax to cripple them for the rest of the match. I had a very big Psychic and Fighting weakness up to that point, and my only options were stuff like Honchkrow and Shadow Ball Reuniclus. I decided to go with Trick Room Hoopa because although fighting types have Knock Off and all that, it benefitted my team as being a stupidly powerful special attacker and being a great late-game cleaner as well as benefitting Tyrantrum and Roserade by setting up TR. Also, my Dark weakness was covered by Cobalion, so Hoopa seemed to be the best choice for me.

Threats to this team are Mega Beedrill, Mamoswine, Entei, Infernape, Hydreigon, and Salamence. (Zapdos can also be a problem, but I never have problems with it, and if it tries to switch in on Roserade, BAM! Leaf Storm knocks Zappy down to 47-44 HP!)

While this may not be the best team for beginners to start with, I feel like this team could be a well-known force if used correctly, and it displays a lot of underrated threats, like Hoopa, DD Tyrantrum, and the power of Specs Roserade! Enjoy!

Replays: http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/uu-298221870 I play pretty badly in the beginning, but it's all made up for by a DD Tyrantrum sweep. ;)

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/uu-298391014 Crit Leaf Storm against Lax changes the game. Although non-crit would've left him at like 30% anyways. Also, Roserade puts in the finest of work, paving the way for a Hoopa sweep.

This is the team that I've been using to try to get reqs during the Crawdaunt suspect test. (Not getting reqs but eh it's fun) Basically, it was originally just a team around Galvantula and Nidoking, as it's a pretty scary core, especially if Galv gets Webs up. Then they announced the Daunt suspect, and I was really hyped, cuz Daunt + Webs in theory seems pretty damn evil. And well, it sort of is, but even then Daunt in Webs still can't outspeed some stuff, but it's still a great wallbreaker and potential sweeper against slower teams with Swords Dance. I added Whimsicott to create momentum with U-Turn and check Water and Fighting types, while also walling Hydreigon pretty well. It also has a good offensive presence with Pixie Plate Moonblast and Energy Ball. I added Scarf Gardevoir because I needed another Dragon switchin as Mence could just FBlast Cott to death, and Scarf Garde also functions as another Fighting check and a good revenge killer. Mega Houndoom was added in the last slot to check Steel, Grass, and Psychic types, three types my team were weak to, as well as being a cool set-up sweeper/ wallbreaker with Nasty Plot.

There are some things this team is still weak to, most importantly Fire types, as I don't have a switchin to them, but Niodking and Crawdaunt can stop them in their tracks (I Love u Aqua Jet). The team also lacks Stealth Rock, but it has so much loffensive pressure that it can still do good even without Rocks.

Overall, this is a really cool team with a cool concept that's won me a lot of games, and I hope you all try it out!

- Recover

Basically, the point of this team is to use the opponent to set hazards, with two ways of getting them up by Magic Coat/Bounce. This is especially useful against teams that rely on webs, since if you can bounce them back, they have to play catch up while you can spread paras freely with P2 or try for some early-game hell with a setup sweeper or wallbreaker like Azelf and Absol.

Once hazards are reflected or cleared in general, the rest of the team focuses on a high-power fast offense which aims to try and keep people on the back foot, where they either have to make a switch that might only delay the inevitable or stay in and bring in a counter which will usually have a check in one form or another.

A few things which give this team problems are other fast scarfers, most notably Mienshao, which requires a good amount of prediction and wearing down before priority can take it out.

So I wanted to build a team around Haxorus, a seriously underrated stallbreaker that isn't bad at all (It's good, and you're all clods if you think not) that threatens bulky or balance teams a bunch while having a bit of speed to somewhat threaten offense if used right. Metagross is a great partner as it sets up Rocks for Haxorus and also threatens Fairy types. Mega Sharpedo benefits from Haxorus' wallbreaking to clean, and I use Ice Beam to do a bit more damage to physically defensive Grass-types than Ice Fang does. Shaymin can also break down walls with Seed Flare's Special Defense drop, and it also breaks down bulky Waters for the team. Entei finishes off the FWG core by adding something that can break down Bulky Steel types much more easily than Shaymin and Haxorus, and ESpeed is always nice. Salamence might seem like an odd choice due to me already having a Dragon type on the team, but it's actually one of the most useful mons of the team, as it adds a realiable Fire and Fighting check, and another wallbreaker. I used Iron Tail in the last slot in order to have an easier matchup against Fairy-types, but Defog is always an option.

Things that give this team a tough time are Mega Aerodactyl, Fighting types, and Roserade can hit everything but Metagross hard, but overall it's a great team made around Haxorus and I hope you all try it out!

You're all still clods to me. Nyeh heh heh. :)

Hello LittleRunnerXC.

I have recently converted from a different forums involving pokemon and discussion very similar to this one. I left because mods and admins were slowly tearing each other apart on measly matters such as viability and player consistency. Ego and politics got out of hand and the system became corrupt. Now, we had people like Cyndequil. trying to argue against nonsense proposals and arguments, but an admin or mod that is challenged would always come out on top due to pure ego. I see a little bit of that here but it is definitely contained and orderly.

My point is that people like Cyndequil are very healthy for the UU forums. If you go to his page and look at recent postings, you will see that Cyndequil's form of contribution is "calling people out," and "establishing lines in the sand." He may come off as harsh, but this is good because it makes people think twice before they post. Cynd ignites questions like, "Should I post this? Can people counter argument this easily? Will my post appeal to the population?" Understand that any player of any skill base may need a reminder that posts are for sharing and learning together to make the forums a better place. A post should not be posted on the soul desire to get likes (unless the thread appropriates this behavior). When I saw your post, my initial thought was that you made a team based off a rhyming title gimmick and tried to make it work. I have made over 200 teams and only 1 has been successful and was based off a gimmick.

When I go to this thread, I, as an individual, expect to grab some teams that have had an abundance of success whether it be on ladder or in tournament play. You explained your team but I never had an confirmation that using your team would advance my success as a battler. I got...

Also if you are open to suggestions, then please don't tell Cynd that this isn't the place to 'criticize my team,' because that seems a little contradictory. I have a dream where all UU forum contributors are well informed and post for reasons that are relevant and inspirational. I do think Smogon is leaning in that direction simply because ego is less relevant here than in most pokemon forums I have been too. So don't get offended. Cyndequil's intentions are good and do come off as a little harsh.

To finish this off I do have a few suggestions for the team. Mega Ampharos does not fit well and you have a ground weakness. Shuca Empoleon is a nice lure but you probably need more. So I am suggesting scarf Shaymin over Amphy. This will help against mega Swampert and bulky waters like suicune. Hariyama has to go. You convinced yourself that this team is an example of niche mons that can work but this simply isn't the case. There are better options. Special Nasty Plot Infernape with Aura Sphere helps a lot with stall and gives you a decent ice resist. Espeon does not need baton pass on this team. Trick should do a good job or even psyshock. That leaves with no mega but I don't care. You could switch out crobat for mega bee and then call your team Cat! Thanks for your contributions man. I can only see good things coming from you in the future!
Okay, I full understand, sorry YABO for derailing the thread rn, and I deleted both posts. Thank you Cyndequil. and Catholic Rabbits

No harm no foul. Use the RMT subforum to post your weird teams. This thread is (mostly) for successful standard sample builds so that new players can have something to help improve their game. If you're unsure as to whether or not a team should be posted, you're always welcome to ask me, champ :)

Just so everyone knows what's happening, I'll be doing a bit of a thread cleanup so we can get back on track.
