[OVERVIEW]

* Omastar is a deadly sweeper in the UnderUsed metagame because it can sweep unprepared teams thanks to its access to Shell Smash and great Special Attack.
* Thanks to its good Defense stat, Omastar can find setup opportunities against some physical attackers, such as Scizor and Mega Aerodactyl.
* Its typing is terrible defensively, providing few useful resistances and a lot of weaknesses to common types, such as Ground and Electric. Its Special Defense is also underwhelming, allowing special attackers such as Latias to find setup opportunities against Omastar.
* While Shell Smash boosts Omastar's Speed in two stages, it is still outsped by common tier staples, such as Choice Scarf Krookodile, Choice Scarf Hydreigon, and Mega Aerodactyl.

Moves
========

* Shell Smash gives Omastar valuable boosts in Speed and Special Attack, giving Omastar the opportunity to sweep more unprepared builds.
* Hydro Pump is Omastar's main STAB, OHKOing or 2HKOing any Pokemon that is neutral to Water at +2, but its accuracy is rather low.
* Surf can be used as Omastar's second move since it is a strong STAB move with 100% accuracy, but it's weaker than Hydro Pump.
* Ice Beam hits Dragon- and Grass-types such as Latias, Hydreigon, and Celebi.
* Earth Power has a high chance to OHKO Tentacruel at +2 after Stealth Rock if Omastar is running a Modest nature, and it also hits Toxicroak and Empoleon for super effective damage, OHKOing or at least 2HKOing them.

Set Details
========

* Waterium Z boosts Omastar's Water-type STAB, giving it a one-time nuke that can be used to grab some important 2HKOes, such as the 2HKO on Blissey and Alomomola after Stealth Rock and a Shell Smash boost.
* Shuca Berry can be used instead Waterium Z if the team has a Z-Move user, and allows Omastar to survive Earthquake from Krookodile and Mega Aerodactyl at +2.
* The EV spread maximizes Omastar's Special Attack and Speed stats, allowing it to hit as hard as possible while outspeeding a large portion of the metagame.
* Omastar's nature depends on what its team needs; if the team is weak to Mega Aerodactyl, a Timid nature should be used, but if the team needs more power, a Modest nature is perfect.
* Weak Armor sharply rises Omastar's Speed while lowering its Defense, giving it the edge against physical attackers that can't OHKO it.

Usage Tips
========

* Pokemon that revenge kill Omastar, such as Scarf Latias, Krookodile, Hydreigon, and Terrakion should be removed before Omastar sets up.
* Finding setup opportunities with Omastar is not hard, as it can take advantage of Choice locked physical attackers such as Krookodile or Terrakion locked in Stone Edge, or Pokemon that rely on Knock Off, such as Mega Absol.
* Omastar is best used as a mid- and late-game cleaner, as it finds more setup opportunities.

Team Options
========

* Dragon-types such as Latias and Hydreigon resist and threaten Grass- and Electric-types that annoy Omastar, eventually giving Omastar more setup opportunities.
* Revenge killers such as Choice Scarf Krookodile and Latias clean Pokemon that outspeed Omastar at +2, such as Mega Aerodactyl, opposing Krookodile, and Mienshao.
* Omastar also appreciates the support mixed walls such as Clefable and Tentacruel give him, as they can take special hits from the likes of Hydreigon and Raikou decently while using utility moves that can help Omastar, such as Stealth Rock, Toxic Spikes, and Rapid Spin.
* While Omastar works best on offense and bulky offense, hyper offense squads also appreciate its offensive nature. This means Omastar can take advantage of more offensive teammates, such as Lucario, Scarf Latias, and Mega Sharpedo, while abusing of the entry hazard support provided by common leads, such as Froslass and Azelf.
* Slow VoltTurn support, provided by Scizor, bulky Celebi, and Forretress, can help Omastar to find setup opportunities against passive Pokemon.
* Dual Screen and Aurora Veil support provided by Klefki and Alolan Ninetales, respectively, give Omastar more setup opportunities.

Other Options
=============

* Omastar doesn't have a good moveset, this means it can't use much sets outside of its Shell Smash one. Omastar can, however, use a lead set, with Spikes, Stealth Rock, and Toxic Spikes, but Pokemon such as Azelf and Froslass are better entry hazard setters.
