i think most of this should be right, feel free to @ me in the nu discord if you see something that needs to be changed / my math was off at some point.

[09:29:46] #eternally: [REDACTED], predicts when

Klinklang Gang (3) vs. Busted Team Player Cats (5)
USUM NU: Ren-Chon vs. Rodriblutar - rodri impresses me more playing wise, though mili is super heat (40-60)
USUM NU: Nat vs. Poek - poek seemed better throughtout the first 6 weeks (43-57)
USUM NU: blunder vs. zugubu royale - if hootie gives blunder smth to break fat, this is a walk through the park (75-25)
ORAS NU: Luck O' the Irish vs. Lednäh - loti is very underrated i feel, so if lednah goes in underestimating him, i can see loti winning (51-49)
BW NU: jake vs. Stan Soojung - not sure what stan is doing in bw, but she semi knows what shes doing in game, so the game should be alright, but i dont see zeb losing this one (65-35)
DPP NU: Coconut vs. Sam - sam seemed alright so far, while i havent seen anything impressive from coconut (45-55)
ADV NU: Kaori vs. Hogg - hogg is super heat (30-70)
Bo3: Hootie vs. FLCL

Reckless Rhydons (5) vs. Krusty Krabs (3)
USUM NU: Teddeh vs. elodin - teddehs sand approach looked interesting last week, but generally speaking, rhydons sm teams have looked kinda weird more often than not, but i would edge out teddeh as the better player in this mu (55-45)
USUM NU: lax vs. Pohjis - this should be a great one, but slight edge to lax (52-48)
USUM NU: Cdumas vs. Kory2600 - cool mu, i think cdu will have to edge out in game to win this (55-45)
ORAS NU: Snou vs. Kiyo - snou is the better player, so unless kiyo comes up w some insane teddeh ct, snou should win (60-40)
BW NU: HJAD vs. We Three Kings - im a big fan of w3k playing wise, and if he doesnt get caught off guard by some whack bw tech like nature power, i think he should outmaneuver
DPP NU: Askov vs. Heysup - as much as i love askov, his ingame doesnt impress me, whereas we all know heysup knows how to play (35-65)
ADV NU: M Dragon vs. Plas - its hard to predict against mdrag, even if hes playing the greatest of them all (52-48)
Bo3: Dundies vs. Finchinator - dundies is the greatest clicker on this site but i dont see him edging out finch in a bo3 (45-55)

Dilly Dilly Dewgongs (0) vs. Vibrant Vivillons (0)
USUM NU: 0Nl vs. Slide - i love both of these guys but 0Nl is more solid all around a little more experienced (60-40)
USUM NU: snagaa vs. Eternally - predicting against eternally just cuz
USUM NU: lo shohei ohtani toyotas vs. Gondra - gondra does weird stuff sometimes idk but last week was good, but then again hes playing the greatest of them all(55-45)
ORAS NU: honchkrow vs. Ajna
BW NU: bugzinator vs. obii - freed. (60-40)
DPP NU: Bughouse vs. col49 - has col even played a game so far (60-40)
ADV NU: Hikari vs. shiloh - i dont know much about eithers adv prowess but both of them are solid players, this should be an interesting game w boring teams (48-52)
Bo3: The Goomy vs. TDK - goomy likes to go wild w teams, which will probably give him a slight preview advantage at least in sm and bw, which he should be able to keep (53-47)

looking forward to our game quzoat and hf lillis

[09:23] %eternally: u should do predicts imo

Klinklang Gang (1) vs. Busted Team Player Cats (7)
USUM NU: Ren-chon vs. Rodriblutar [30-70] - Rodri is on fire and I rate him better USUM NUer then Ren-Chon, if this was ORAS tho...
USUM NU: Nat vs. Poek [35-65] - If this match would actually be played I dont see Nat winning this, out of the competition and haven't played good at all this season.
USUM NU: blunder vs. zugubu royale [40-60] - I give it to Zugubu only because Blunder is prepping for finals to get hit very first trophy, with this in mind and already being out of NUPL he wouldn't care.
ORAS NU: Luck O' the Irish vs. Lednäh [30-70] - Better player and undefeated
BW NU: jake vs. Stan Soojung [60-40] - I know jake/zeb and even if he knows his match wont matter he would never not want to give his opponent a shitty win and will always play to win. With that in mind he would win this purely of his bw nu knowledge (which is far greater then Stans is).
DPP NU: Coconut vs. Sam [40-60] - Honestly I only say that Sam is winning purely because they arent out of NUPL yet.
ADV NU: Kaori vs. Hogg [30-70] - Hogg is literally top 2 in ADV NU
Bo3: Hootie vs. FLCL [0-100] - Already happened

Reckless Rhydons (3) vs. Krusty Krabs (4)
USUM NU: Teddeh vs. elodin [60-40] - I think Teddeh will do everything to make this last week to a success, elodin is more focused on wcop probs so would prep way less then Teddeh.
USUM NU: lax vs. Pohjis [55-45] - Honestly this is the most exciting match for me in USUM, both SPLers in USUM NU and did well there too. Honestly I only give Lax the edge because he's been doing really well this NUPL.
USUM NU: Cdumas vs. Kory2600 [49-51] - Both good players and I see the one with the better match up win, which with help of Pohjis and Finch I see Kory having that.
ORAS NU: Snou vs. Kiyo [45-55] - Teddeh would give him his team and Kiyo will counterreact to that what would give him the edge.
BW NU: HJAD vs. We Three Kings [50-50] - Honestly can't tell
DPP NU: Askov vs. Heysup [35-65] - Heysup is one of the best DPP NUers that's why he would win.
ADV NU: M Dragon vs. Plas [75-25] - Is clearly more experienced, better, known with ADV NU for a looooong time. Just learn to schedule my friend.
Bo3: Dundies vs. Finchinator [34-66] - Dedicated and his wcop matches are done as well, better player in nu too and I know Finch doesn't want to write an essay about how he lost.

Dilly Dilly Dewgongs (2) vs. Vibrant Vivillons (5)
USUM NU: 0Nl vs. Slide [45-55] - My man Slide will do everything to go positive, I know how much he tried last week to get his win to go at least 1-1
USUM NU: snagaa vs. Eternally [50-50] - Honestly both have a great NUPL, I normally would give this to Eternally but since his team already is qualified I don't know if he will do everything to make a good team and such.
USUM NU: lo shohei ohtani toyotas vs. Gondra [0-100] - Just because I fucking hate that name oml
ORAS NU: honchkrow vs. Ajna [0-100] - Already played
BW NU: bugzinator vs. obii [220-0,04] - HE'S BACK
DPP NU: Bughouse vs. col49 [60-40] - I know 49 and he's scheduling sucks and even if this gets played Bughouse will take this in my oppinion.
ADV NU: Hikari vs. shiloh [40-60] - ngl I don't know why rozes will win this my guts is just telling me this.
Bo3: The Goomy vs. TDK [31-69] - TDK didn't liked that last loss and will bounce back hard this week

HF this week Mushies hope for some good fights n_n.

By popular demand I went ahead and wrote up some predictions for the USUM / ORAS / and Bo3 matches. :psyglad: Lots of highlights this week, looking forward to it.

Klinklang Gang vs. Busted Team Player Cats

USUM NU: Ren-chon vs. Rodriblutar
Ren-chon has had some pretty solid games and he's the top performer of the Klinklangs so he's no pushover by any means. That being said, Rodri has had a stronger season so far and if he comes equip with an FLCL team I'd find it fairly difficult to bet against him in this matchup. The klinklangs have also had it pretty rough and with playoffs being unattainable one would have to wonder how much prep is gonna be put in for this game. Definitely interested to see what these guys bring regardless as they've both been known to use fairly unorthodox builds, so it could honestly come down to who has the advantage at preview in a matchup like this. I'm gonna have to go with Rodri here though. (40-60)

USUM NU: Nat vs. Poek
Nat's a good player but I don't think she's too comfortable in the NU meta yet so this match is going to be an uphill battle if Poek is focused. That being said, she's a fighter and has a knack for making winning plays no matter what the situation is, so I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest to see the RU powerhouse snatch a win as long as she's supplied with a good team. (45-55)

USUM NU: blunder vs. zugubu royale
Blunder has more important things to worry about this week so idk if he'll actually end up playing, but if he does he should have this one. His season hasn't been great but with a solid Hootie team I think he should be able to come away with a good win here without too much issue. Haven't seen a ton of zugubu in NU but FLCL has a good eye for talent, so i'm sure he's got what it takes to at least make this a solid match. (65-35)

ORAS NU: Luck O' the Irish vs. Lednäh
Lednah is undefeated atm, and although a couple of those games involved a healthy dosage of luck and some questionable hiccups, he's been fairly consistent in this tier for the past 2 NUPLs and a high level, reliable player. Irish has had a good last couple of weeks and has always been a rock solid player so this should be fairly close. I haven't been a huge fan of the teams either have used the past couple of weeks and I feel like this'll probably be a very matchup based game. Close game, but I'd give this one to Lednah for how consistent he's been. (55-45)

Listless Lilligants vs. Moneymaker Musharnas

USUM NU: quziel vs. neomon
Fire matchup between two NU room representatives. Quziel's team last week was pretty cool, though it definitely helped that his opponent brought a bunch of unsets. Neomon is wild so I have no idea what he'll bring, but the fact that these two teams are fighting for a playoffs spot makes me think they'll probably stick a little closer to standard this time around since the stakes are high. Not too much tournament play to base this off from either and they're both kinda unpredictable so I'm gonna have to settle for a 50-50 tie here.

USUM NU: Jarii vs. Shuckleking87
Jarii desperately wants to boost his record into the positives with this match and impress his tutor so I predict he's going to take this match very seriously and prep hard. Shuckleking is the master in this teacher / student dynamic, and part of me wonders if that might subconsciously intimidate Jarii to second guess his plays in this match. Theories aside, Jarii played a good game last week and I thought his team was really cool, so if he can bring that same focus and creativity to this game I can see him taking this and setting up good momentum for playoffs should the Lilligants make it. Should be a fun series. (55-45)

USUM NU: robjr vs. Sir Kay
Kay's NUPL debut is finally here and I'm very interested to see how he does as he has a very unique approach on teambuilding. Robjr is a top tier player however, and one would have to favour his experience as a player in a bo1 matchup, particularly with his impressive showing throughout this NUPL season. Kay can make this interesting with some innovative team that catches him off guard however, so robjr is gonna have to be prepared for anything or things could go south fast. (60-40)

ORAS NU: Sacri' vs. Shaneghoul
Very strong ORAS matchup between the NU Open and NU League champs, both great players who have proven to be top tier contenders in ORAS NU time and time again. Teambuilding wise I'd give the advantage to shaneghoul as he has the creative flair to really catch people off guard while still maintaing a consistent build that can stand up to most generic teams. Sacri has a very high ceiling playing wise though Shaneghoul is also someone I'd rate as one of the best ORAS NU players (playing wise) in general, so this should be a great game. Not too much to seperate these two apart from Shane having the slight advantage of more in depth knowledge of the ins and outs of the tier. However this result is definitely up in the air and anybodys game, definitely a highlight match to watch out for. (48-52)

Bo3: Tricking vs. Garay oak
Tough match for Garay's bo3 debut as Tricking is in the upper echelon of Smogon players and builds extremely consistent teams with very few exploitable holes. Garay is also quite a good player who can hold his own against the best in NU, although ocassionally he can get a bit too impatient and start overpredicting which can be exploited by Tricking's style of play. That being said, I think Garay has a very defined SM building style which is very high quality, and as long as he doesn't bring another Magmortar team for Tricking to counterstyle I can see him winning the SM game. I'd have to favour Tricking for ORAS and BW though as he's got more experience with them and those tiers can be a lot more punishing towards small misplays. Garay definitely has a lot of potency in ORAS though, and that game is probably going to be the decider of this tight series. Looking forward to it as I enjoy watching games from both of these players, and both have a high playing-ceiling which can make this a real screamer. Gonna go with Tricking winning 2-1 (ORAS / BW vs SM) but garay pulling away with a win wouldn't be surprising in the least. (58-42)

Reckless Rhydons (0) vs. Krusty Krabs (0)

USUM NU: Teddeh vs. elodin
Highlight match, both very strong players that bring consistent builds that encourage outplaying rather than relying on matchup. That being said, I know Teddeh is busy with school and other things atm so I'm not sure how much time he's willing to invest into prepping for this game. Normally this wouldn't be much of an issue, but I have a feeling the Krusty Krabs are gonna go all out in counterstyling the classic style of team Teddeh continues to bring every match, which could make things quite difficult for him. However, elodin also has other important matches to worry about, so this could come down to the team support of each respective player as well as their ability to outplay eachother and maintain momentum in this match. I have a gut feeling that with support from Finchinator; elodin can get a good matchup, play as well as he always does and clinch this, but you can never count Teddeh out of a match, so this is gonna be a good one, looking forward to it. (49-51)

USUM NU: lax vs. Pohjis
Another highlight match between the Rhydons and Krabs. I rate lax really highly in NU atm and he's been doing very well since SPL which is great to see. Pohjis is another strong NU mainstay who has the tools to take on anyone with a good mix of midground plays and solid building / counterstyling. I think this one is gonna be decided on who dedicates the most effort in the teambuilder, and I'd have to guess that person would be Pohjiis. However, with how well lax has been playing lately Pohjis is gonna have to be on top of his game and stay aggressive if he wants to win this. Another very close one that could go either way, gut feeling it'll be Pohjis but if lax starts peaking during the match he'll probably win convincingly. (49-51)

USUM NU: Cdumas vs. Kory2600
Interesting matchup between two good players who've recently seen a spike in NU activity as of late. I think Cdumas should take this though and he's got more experience in the tier and a very cool building style that complements him as a player, also think that Rhydons SM lineup is too good to not get at least one win, and most of these matches are basically coinflips to begin with. Kory played a really good game against garay however, so if he can bring that type of solid play and impose himself in this game it'll make it quite difficult for Cdumas to get into a rhythm. (55-45)

ORAS NU: Snou vs. Kiyo
Snou has been very impressive this season and as a player he ticks all the boxes. My one concern is that he's been reusing a lot of commonly known teams which indicates two things, one, not much effort is being made to prepare for specific opponents, and two, Snou's ORAS NU meta knowledge might still be a bit fresh and not exposed to the more niche aspects of the tier. On the other hand, we've got Kiyo, a very good ORAS player who makes solid, quirky teams with enough variety to not be predictable week in and week out. I think if Kiyo prepares well for this game his superior knowledge and teambuilding ability should win this game, as long as he brings an Ice resist. (42-58)

Bo3: Dundies vs. Finchinator
The self proclaimed button clicker king against Finchinator is one of my personal favourites this week. Although with Dundies announcing his third retirement who knows how much effort he'll put into this series, perhaps he'll try and tilt Finch with some cheese like SubDischarge Rotom-Spin (please do this) or screens offense, with Dundies nothing is out of the picture. One thing is for certain, Finch's nice prep is gonna come in handy for this series, and I'm certain he'll pull out all the stops to get the Krusty Krabs into playoffs. i think Finch takes SM / BW with ORAS being a close game that could go either way. (35-65)

GO VIVS

just as a disclaimer i don't mean to offend anyone when doing these, if u are umcomfortable / offended then just lmk

Listless Lilligants
vs.
Moneymaker Musharnas

USUM NU: quziel vs. neomon
both are kinda known for quirky or unique teams and it's prob gonna come down to who can make the more aggresive play at the right time and also matchup (55-45)

USUM NU: Jarii vs. Shuckleking87
idk much about shuckleking's performance in sm bar beating poek with sand last week, so this is moreso based on me not knowing shuckleking as much as jarii (55-45)

USUM NU: robjr vs. Sir Kay
kay finally been freed so he better do the damn thing but from experience rob knowns how to stay in control of a game fairly well but ik kay's been waiting for this so he's prob gonna try more overall (53-47)

ORAS NU: Sacri' vs. Shaneghoul
shane's run has been kinda unfortunate with a few odd games here n there with luck, hoping that doesn't phase him tho and hope he uses something new cos his builds are always cool to see (40-60)

Bo3: Tricking vs. Garay oak
garay's cool but tricking is prob more well rounded off in terms of diversity and consistency in bw so just going with him, could do either way - probably gonna come down to if garay can win in oras and sm as i feel tricking has the upper hand in bw (57-43)

Reckless Rhydons vs.
Krusty Krabs

USUM NU: Teddeh vs. elodin
this one is super close and a cool game as well, teddeh seems kinda tired rn but no doubting that he has a high cieling whereas elodin is an overall rlly good player who has sufficent team support as well (50-50)

USUM NU: lax vs. Pohjis
rlly close one, but giving lax the edge here as i think he's just a tad stronger and more confident, but pohjis is a very good player who could also take this (55-45)

USUM NU: Cdumas vs. kory2600
i know that cdumas defo has more nu experience and knowledge (at least from what i've seen from him) so i feel like that's gonna give him the edge here (60-40)

ORAS NU: Snou vs. Kiyo
kiyo is def more familiar with oras and is overall just better at it, but snou's also shown he's capable in oras combined with consistent teddeh teams and some other famous oras teams, so if kiyo brings something more unique i feel like he def has this (63-37)

Bo3: Dundies vs. Finchinator
finch's prob gonna take bw just as an inference based on how invested he seems with it, dundies prob gonna take oras then it'll be down to the sm game, but idt dundies shud be taken lightly as he's prob kinda motivated after last week so idk lol, but finch is prob more well rounded

Dilly Dilly Dewgongs
vs.
Vibrant Vivillons

USUM NU: 0NI vs. Slide
i've played slide idk how many times in sm but his teams are mega sus but as a player he knows how to quickly take control of a game but @ the same time things can also go south very fast, hoping he keeps his cool and is prob motivated but ik oni semi well and i know he's not someone to be taken lightly (40-60)

USUM NU: snagaa vs. Eternally
both good players that know the the tier inside n out, predicting eternally to take it though cos he's a record whore and will wana finish off with a strong track showing, but snaga's builds are kinda unpredictable so we'll see how it goes (44-56)

USUM NU: lo shohei ohtani toyotas vs. Gondra
cb jose altuves

but honestly meeps can win this p comfortably but will prob end up bringing like barboach whereas gondra 99% be using a real team from rozes so idk what's gonna happen (idk)

Bo3: The Goomy vs. TDK
kinda like meeps gondra but not as extreme, in the sense that tdk will prob use one of his own teams or use some supplied by rozes / eternally / slide, also i think tdk prob has a higher cieling playing wise overall but i always like seeing goomy play cos of his teams so we shall see

hoping to see lillis in poffs, good luck to them and hf klinklangs
