[OVERVIEW]

**Dark:**

Bisharp is a threatening Pokemon in the ORAS Monotype metagame due to the buffing of Knock Off, its strongest STAB move, priority with Sucker Punch, its strong STAB Iron Head, and its access to Swords Dance, which creates potential sweeps. Its Dark / Steel typing allows Dark teams to apply offensive pressure on Fairy-types, which are extremely threatening due to the lack of switch-ins. Bisharp should be run on Dark teams because of the favorable matchup it grants versus many common types, threatening nearly every type barring Fighting. Bisharp is a useless Pokemon in the Fighting matchup because its STAB priority is not very effective and all the commonly run Fighting-type Pokemon outspeed Bisharp easily. However, this minor setback does not decrease Bisharp's viability because of the usefulness it has in the Fairy matchup.

[SET]
name: Offensive Sweeper (Dark / Swords Dance)
move 1: Swords Dance
move 2: Knock Off
move 3: Sucker Punch
move 4: Iron Head
item: Lum Berry / Life Orb
ability: Defiant
nature: Adamant
evs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Swords Dance allows Bisharp to potentially set up on a predicted switch and sweep. Knock Off is Bisharp's strongest STAB move against Pokemon that hold an item due to the 1.5x boost. Sucker Punch is Bisharp's only priority move and is extremely powerful with 80 base power and STAB. Sucker Punch and Swords Dance coupled together can create many sweeping opportunities. Bisharp's final move, Iron Head, is a nice STAB move used in order to threaten Fairy-types, which have the advantage versus Dark-types.

Set Details
========

An Adamant nature, maximum Attack, and maximum Speed are necessary for Bisharp to hit as hard as possible and to outpace as many walls as possible, such as bulky Landorus-T and Mandibuzz. Jolly can be used to outspeed Adamant threats such as Dragonite and Diggersby. Defiant makes Bisharp especially threatening for teams weak to hazards, such as Flying teams, as it raises Bisharp's Attack by two stages should the opponent choose to Defog. Defiant also scares away Bug and Rock teams from using Sticky Web because they do not want to give Bisharp automatic boosts in Attack. Lum Berry provides more sweeping opportunities, as it allows Bisharp to take a potential status from a Pokemon such as Mega Sableye or Mew. However, Life Orb is another viable option for immediate powerful damage. Lum Berry is generally run over Life Orb because people would rather trade immediate damage for more setup opportunities. However, if you decide to run Lum Berry, note that Bisharp misses out on possible KOs against Pokemon like Mega Gardevoir and frail offensive attackers such as Thundurus after Stealth Rock.

Usage Tips
========

Bisharp is generally not used as a switch-in to many attacks due to its frail defenses and low HP stat. However, if played correctly, Bisharp can switch into a Defog and activate Defiant, raising its Attack by two stages and creating an enormous threat. Bisharp is a solid revenge killer due to its priority Sucker Punch. Generally, when playing Bisharp, try to apply pressure and force the foe out, allowing Bisharp to set up with Swords Dance if possible. Bisharp creates many mind games with Sucker Punch. If not used to revenge kill, Bisharp should be used late-game in order to weaken actual counters or threats, setting up the sweep.

Team Options
========

Dark-type hazard setters like Tyranitar and Krookodile are nice options because they can bait in the Defog. Mandibuzz is one of the best partners for Bisharp because it has the ability to cover 2 major weaknesses to Bisharp, Ground and Fighting. Mega Sableye is also recommended because it can bounce back possible statuses and is immune to Fighting moves. Pokemon that revenge kill or clean like Hoopa-U, Weavile, Crawdaunt, and Sharpedo are also recommended. Physical wallbreakers such as Crawdaunt and Weavile break down similar threats for each other while Hoopa-U is able to check Fighting types for Bisharp.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

**Dark:**

Bisharp can run Pursuit over Swords Dance; however, that takes away its sweeping capabilities and is not as helpful for Dark teams, only allowing you to Pursuit trap a Gardevoir or Victini if played correctly. Low Kick is another option over Swords Dance that Bisharp can use to hit Pokemon like Mega Gyarados or bulkier Steel-types. A lead set with Focus Sash and Stealth Rock is an option if you need to take the burden off of Tyranitar or feel like getting rid of Tyranitar completely. Thunder Wave is used to cripple leads, Stealth Rock improves poor matchups, Knock Off is Bisharp's strongest STAB move, and Iron Head helps versus Fairy-types. This set should only be used if your team lacks a Stealth Rock setter.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Dark:**

**Fighting-types**: Pokemon like Keldeo and Cobalion resist both of Bisharp's STAB types, so they are able to reliably switch into it and can retaliate with a Fighting move. Pokemon like Terrakion and Heracross outspeed and OHKO it, but they cannot switch into Iron Head.

**Fairy-types**: While Bisharp's STAB Iron Head is extremely threatening to Fairy-types, faster Pokemon like Mega Diancie and Togekiss resist Bisharp's priority and can OHKO it back. Fairy-types are unable to reliably switch in to Bisharp's STAB Iron Head without taking lots of damage.

**Fire-types**: Most Fire-type Pokemon like Mega Charizard Y and Rotom-H can survive a Sucker Punch without investment and knock out Bisharp in one hit. Pokemon like Infernape and Torkoal are able to survive any hit from Bisharp and OHKO it back.

**Ground-types**: Ground-type Pokemon like Excadrill and Landorus easily force out unboosted Bisharp, as they can survive any hit and outspeed and KO it. A few Pokemon like Hippowdon and Mega Camerupt can easily switch into a Knock Off and check Bisharp.

**Substitute**: Pokemon like Mega Gardevoir that run Substitute can surprise Bisharp by revealing the move or force Bisharp into mind games if Substitute has already been revealed.

hi, your analysis needs to be in bullet point form and according to the analysis standards (there are a few things monotype C&C does differently, but the majority of stuff still apply!)

Hey! You covered all the important stuff, so good job!

Under Set Details, I would mention specifically Mega Sableye by name, as Lum Berry is the only way Bisharp can hope to beat it. Otherwise, you'll likely be stuck having to do Mega Sableye mirrors. (Does Lum Berry help Bisharp beat Klefki? It just Thunder Waves again after it has Reflect up)

Under Usage Tips, make note that Bisharp should be preserved for the late-game, because the things that check it can do so very effectively. Waiting until those checks are gone is necessary for any hope for a SD sweep.

Under Team Options: I would change "Pokemon that also keep up offensive presence" to be "Revenge killers or cleaners" or make it a new section, since especially with those specific examples, Bisharp loves having help against the faster Pokemon it would have to rely on Sucker Punch 50/50s for.

A wallbreaker teammate is good here too, I'd think. Something like Crawdaunt, which is also another setup sweeper that has good offensive redundancy, or Hydreigon can help take out walls or put them into Bisharp's range.

Under OO, Jolly Bisharp can outspeed Adamant Dragonite and Diggersby, both of which can seriously dent the Dark walls, although Bisharp will really miss that damage.

We need to mention the sash, SR Bisharp set (it often runs Twave too). It at least deserves OO, possibly a full set.

It takes pressure off TTar to set rocks, freeing up its moveset, while still threatening with Knock Off and Iron Head/Sucker Punch.

We should discuss this thing on Skype in real time.

Should just be Other Options honestly? I can briefly mention it but Bisharp loses its real potential if you go for a lead set.

I think the main problem with it is that you're trading SD Bisharp for DD (Mega) Tyranitar, which IMO isn't that good of a trade. It also faces competition from Krookodile as a suicide lead for HO teams. I'd put it in OO.

By the way, I guess you can add physically bulky Pokemon to Checks and Counters, but make it clear that it has to be specific. Hippowdon, for example, as opposed to Porygon2. Whirlwind Skarmory as opposed to Ferrothorn. Swampert, basically Pokemon with super effective coverage or utility that can stop Bisharp.

I am unsure whether Quagsire should be named specifically, it's not a common Pokemon and only really fits on one type and one playstyle of that type, but it is a true counter.

The point is to be thorough with stuff that is viable and you might see, not just cover what is best. For instance, OU has an entire AV Bisharp set because it can help with Latios/Gengar and help check Fairies—not its best role, but a niche it can fill.

The SR set is useful in Monotype if you want to run something else on Ttar and still be able to pressure Fairies with Bisharp's STAB Iron Head. OO is fine, but make sure you're not too brief and it is clear why one would consider running this set.

The C&C section needs some work. Look at other analyses or look at the template to see the correct formatting. Definitely put "Fighting-type Pokemon" (mention Keldeo, Conkeldurr, Cobalion, Infernape as counters and list some of the others like Terrakion as checks) , and "Physically Bulky Pokemon" (Garchomp, Hippowdon like you say, plus stuff like Quagsire and Torkoal) as sections in C&C, perhaps "Sucker Punch Resists" or "Substitute" as potential sections too.

The rest I have to offer is just nitpicks:
Make sure you mention the low speed and reliance on Sucker Punch near the end of the Overview. I don't really know about talking about the "buffing of Knock Off" as we're nearing the end of the generation and its been two years since it happened o_o just a thought

"Knock Off is Bisharp's strongest STAB to any mon with an item due to the 1.5x boost." What if they resist Dark? This sentence is misleading.

"If not used to revenge kill, should be used late game in order to weaken actual counters or threats, setting up the sweep." Might just be me but this sentence doesn't make any sense. Setting up the sweep for what, if its late game?

"Mega-Sableye is also recommended because it can bounce back possible Hazards and is immune to Fighting moves."

Mention how Hoopa-U also deals with Fighting-type Pokemon for Bisharp in Team Options
Mention Low Kick in OO to deal with Mega Gyarados and other Bisharp, along with some Steels harder. Mention Black Glasses/Dread Plate in Set Details or OO

Moves
========

Swords Dance allows for Bisharp to potentially set-up on a predicted switch and sweep. Knock Off is Bisharp's strongest STAB to any Pokemon that does not resist with an item due to the 1.5x boost. Sucker Punch is Bisharp's only priority, and is extremely powerful with 80 base power and STAB. Sucker Punch and Swords Dance coupled together can create many sweeping opportunities. Bisharp's final move, Iron Head, is an extremely STAB (?) used in order to threaten Fairy Types, which have the advantage vs Dark Types.

Set Details
========

Adamant Nature max Attack and max Speed are necessary for Bisharp to hit as hard as possible and to outpace walls as much as possible. The Defiant ability makes Bisharp especially threatening for teams weak to hazards such as Flying teams, as it raises Bisharp's Attack by two stages should the opponent choose to Defog. Lum Berry provides more sweeping oppurtunities as it allows Bisharp to take a potential status from a Pokemon such as Mega-Sableye or a burn from Mew. However, Life Orb is another viable option for Bisharp as it allows for immediate powerful damage. Lum Berry is generally ran over Life Orb because people would rather risk immediate damage for more setting up opportunities.

– Mention Jolly as an option for more speed to go before Adamant Dnite.
– In general you need to give more examples in this paragraph.
– You mention bisharp outspeeds some walls with adamant. What walls?
– List specific KO's that Bisharp misses out on by using Lum over LO. You can't OHKO m-garde, nor thundy, after rocks (among many others)
– Mention how Defiant deters Bug/Rock teams from setting Sticky Web.

Usage Tips
========

Bisharp is generally not used as a switch-in to many attacks due to its frail defenses and low HP. However, if played correctly, Bisharp can switch into a Defog and activate its Defiant ability raising its Attack by two stages, creating an enormous threat. Bisharp is a solid revenge killer due to its priority Sucker Punch. Generally when playing Bisharp, try to apply pressure and force the opponent out, allowing you to set-up with Swords Dance if possible. Bisharp involves many mind games with Sucker Punch. If not used to revenge kill, should be used late game in order to weaken actual counters or threats, setting up the sweep.

– Expand upon the idea of "mind games". "While Sucker Punch is a strong priority move, it requires the opponent to attack. It can be taken advantage of by Pokemon, such as Gardevoir-Mega, <insert another example>, that carry status, Substitute, or other passive moves".
– Talk about Bisharp knocking off items, such as eviolites or lefties, and wall breaking in the early game so something like Scarf Hoopa, Weavile, or Scarf Moxie Krook can clean.

Team Options
========

Dark type hazard setters like Tyranitar and Krookodile are nice options because they can bait in the Defog and ensure KO's for Bisharp's Sucker Punch. Mandibuzz is one of the best partners for it because it has the ability to cover 2 major weaknesses to Bisharp due to its typing and stats, Ground moves and Fighting moves. Mega-Sableye is also recommended because it can bounce back possible Hazards and is immune to Fighting moves. Pokemon that revenge kill or clean like Hoopa-Unbound, Weavile, Crawdaunt, and Sharpedo are also recommended. Physical wallbreakers such as Crawdaunt and Weavile break down similar threats for each other while Hoopa-Unbound is able to check Fighting types for Bisharp.

Low Kick is another option over Swords Dance that Bisharp can use to hit Pokemon like Mega Gyarados or bulkier Steel types hard with. Jolly Bisharp can be run to outspeed Pokemon like Adamant Dragonite and Diggersby. Scrapping the entire Swords Dance set and replacing it with Focus Sash Lead Rocks is an option if you need to take the burden off of Tyranitar or feel like getting rid of Tyranitar completely. Thunder Wave to cripple leads, Rocks to support poor match-ups, Knock Off as the strongest STAB, and Iron Head for STAB and to help vs Fairy types. This set should only be used if your team lacks a current rocker.

move the mention of Jolly to Set Details.
Thanks for putting the lead set in here :)
