Pokemon Games Playthrough BDSP
(This challenge involved drawing my team at each checkpoint and drawing all the evolutions or replacement mons)

Checkpoint 1

Part 1: Here, I selected these mons. I was planning on using Walrein, but having Wooper was more optimal. Since Wooper would get the type advantage providing it immunity to ground, I'd swap out Spheal straight away.

Part 2: To add versatility to my team, I added in Machop. Luckily, Machop would become one of my most important mons of the run. Though, Kangaskhan completely rips through the first checkpoint by herself! Driflloon and koffing luckily do some work against Roserade

Checkpoint 2

Part 1: Completing Checkpoint 1, I rush in with no evolutions.

Part 2: Wooper evolves... Immediately

Part 3: Then drifloon

Part 4: I selected Espeon due to a +speed -attack nature. Now, eevee finally has a use. It destroys the fighting type gym

Part 5: Machoke's coverage offers quick victories all the way to Byron

Checkpoint 3

Checkpoint 3 was also very smooth... until the Elite 4.
Quagsire lost to Bertha
Medicham was used as a sacrifice switch-in to Lucian
And against Cynthia, Drifblim set up minimise which it baton passed to espeon who sweeped most of the team before being hit by flash cannon and fainting, then drifblim being used as a sacrifice switch in

I also redrew a very old oc. Love her design, given the revamp of course. Most definitely going to properly redesign her soon, but just wanted to drew something cute for now

Chainsaw man art style with an oc. Gonna study the art style more, but I'm already pretty familiar with it. Got Kolo to help me name this character, and we got to the name Haule

Then, off of another idea from Kolo, there's another character (Siblings) named Wikolia. The fictional region they're from is inspired by Pacific Islands and Hawaii, so I thought taken Hawaiian names would best fit into their environment. Then, off of the first name given, Wikolia (Victory), I thought naming the other Haule (Loser) Would give them a good writing dynamic in the case I ever figure out how to write a story.

Recently, I've worked on two art projects, the first is for my article The Evolution of Pokémon Art over the Years! If you're interested in either understanding why the art style of the Pokemon franchise has changed, learning about Ken Sugimori, or receiving my evidence-backed opinion on whether changing art styles has been a good thing... well you'll enjoy a paragraph or two. Notably, the translations team has translated the article to french - if that's an easier language for you, big thanks to the translations team for getting it across

I also sketched out a potential oc. Once I flesh them out and make reason/backstory for their design and character I'll post about them in oc central

There's also this other character I made for the OC Event hosted by Fancy. I honestly wanted to make something better... and no so generic... but I was busy these past 2 weeks, especially with project 2. Though, at least the colours capture the whole trippy panic at the disco style

Last thing, probably going to start making a commissions page soon. Will be a whole large 3rd project though and I have my finals soon so that's not gonna be too soon

It would be pretty cool to redraw the fire hydrant thing potentially. Going to be revisiting more old ocs and redesigning them soon as well. Also have something else coming along but it won't be here for a little while.

I love your faces, they remind me of something but I just can't get my finger on it. It reminds me of one of those animes that is trying to avoid being the standard cutesy/pretty kind of thing and is trying to be more grungy if that makes sense. Looks great

I love the word 'grungy' to describe it so much... It sort of connotes that the characters aren't trying to convey a satirical, nor overly popular look, which helps make them feel more realistic(?). Also creates a tone of darkness and seriousness to have lines that aren't overly smooth

Anyways I just really love the word 'grungy' and I'm totally going to be using it to inspire the direction for future art lol. Always useful having your insight!

Quick WIP of Yuji. The direction of season 2 Shibuya is really exciting! The intro is really captivating too. Will be doing more proper pieces when I finish exams, but I just felt like splashing some colours together
