[OVERVIEW]
Jellicent has an excellent Ghost / Water defensive typing alongside a fantastic Special Defense stat, allowing it to act as a solid wall and the best spinblocker in the tier. It also has access to good utility moves such as Recover to keep itself healthy, Will-O-Wisp to cripple foes, and Taunt to prevent foes from healing, setting entry hazards, or throwing out a status move. Its ability Water Absorb also allows it to take Water-type attacks from the likes of Slowbro, Keldeo, and Starmie. Jellicent's Ghost typing makes it an excellent choice to have on hazard stacking teams, as it can block Rapid Spin from the likes of Excadrill and Starmie. Jellicent does, however, have very poor Speed, making it difficult to utilize Taunt against many fast Pokemon effectively. Jellicent's low Defense also holds it back, as it struggles to reliably check physical attackers suck as Excadrill, Mega Metagross, Mega Lopunny, and Mega Medicham. Jellicent's typing also leaves it weak to common types like Dark and Electric.

Moves
========
Will-O-Wisp allows Jellicent to cripple Tyranitar, Mega Metagross, Mega Scizor, Landorus-T, and many other physical attackers. Recover is used to help Jellicent stay healthy throughout the game. Taunt can be used to stop foes from recovering, using status moves, setting up, or setting entry hazards. Scald is Jellicent's main STAB move and has a useful chance to burn foes. Night Shade offers consistent damage and enables Jellicent to chip down foes regardless of its lack of offensive EVs.
Set Details
========
44 Speed EVs allow Jellicent to outspeed Clefable so it can get off Taunt before Clefable can use Thunder Wave, Calm Mind, or Soft-Boiled. 44 Speed EVs also allow Jellicent to outspeed Pokemon with base 65 Speed, which includes Alomomola and Scizor before it Mega Evolves. 248 HP EVs allow Jellicent to take less damage from Spikes. 216 Defense EVs slightly optimize Jellicent's physical bulk, given its Bold nature. Leftovers provides Jellicent with passive recovery, though Colbur Berry can be used instead to help it absorb Dark-type moves like Knock Off, Crunch, and Pursuit.
Usage Tips
========
Jellicent should be used as a defensive pivot, so utilize Water Absorb to take Water-type attacks like Hydro Pump from Keldeo, Surf from Choice Specs Latios, and Scald from Starmie and Slowbro. Take advantage of Jellicent's Ghost typing to stop Rapid Spin from Excadrill and Starmie as well as Fighting-type moves like High Jump Kick from Mega Medicham and Hammer Arm from Mega Metagross. Use Will-O-Wisp to cripple threats like Ferrothorn, Excadrill Mega Scizor, and other physical attackers, and Taunt to stop setup and shut down slower defensive Pokemon like Chansey and Clefable. Recover should be used to keep Jellicent healthy and out of range of foe attacks. If running Colbur Berry, use it to absorb a Dark-type move like Crunch or Knock Off from a physical attacker like Bisharp, Weavile, or Tyranitar and retaliate with Will-O-Wisp, making it easier for Jellicent to handle them.
Team Options
========
Jellicent is the best spinblocker in the tier, making Spikes setters like Ferrothorn and Skarmory good partners. Ferrothorn is especially good, as it can also provide support through Thunder Wave and Knock Off. Jellicent also appreciates its own hazard removal, making spinners like Excadrill and Defog users like Latios and Latias great partners. Jellicent does not appreciate taking status moves like Toxic, making status absorbers like Magic Guard Clefable and Gliscor great partners. Clefable and Gliscor also appreciate Jellicent's ability to bait Choice Band and Choice Scarf users like Tyranitar and Weavile to lock themselves into Pursuit so they can set up. The same applies to other setup Pokemon like Mega Scizor and Bisharp. Speaking of Pursuit, Pokemon like Weavile and Tyranitar can help Jellicent remove threats like Latios and Latias that resist Jellicent's Scald. Mega Metagross can also provide Pursuit support and checks the status absorbers that like switching into Jellicent's Will-O-Wisp, like Clefable and Gliscor, with Meteor Mash and Ice Punch, respectively. Assault Vest Tornadus-T can help deal with Grass-types like Serperior, switch into Dragon-types that resist Water like Latios, and provide Knock Off support. Mega Latias appreciates Jellicent's ability to burn Dark-types and can act as a wincon thanks to this. Heatran forms a nice defensive core with Jellicent, as it can take on Grass-types like Serperior as well as other threats like Choice Specs Latios and Volcarona. Heatran also appreciates Jellicent's ability to take on Water-types like Keldeo.

Other Options
========
Protect is a viable option to scout out moves, which is especially useful against Choice-locked Pokemon like Choice Scarf Tyranitar and Magnezone as well as Choice Band Weavile. An example of this is scouting whether Choice Scarf Tyranitar will use Pursuit or Crunch so you know whether or not you should switch out. Hex is also a viable option, as it can do a lot of damage in combination with Will-O-Wisp.
Checks and Counters
===================
**Status Absorbers**: Clefable does not mind being burnt by Scald or Will-O-Wisp from Jellicent and can recover off any damage thanks to Leftovers and Soft-Boiled. Gliscor can avoid being burnt thanks to its Toxic Orb and Poison Heal; it takes very little damage from Scald and can set up on Jellicent with Swords Dance. Mega Altaria does not mind being burnt, as it has access to Heal Bell, can set up on Jellicent with Dragon Dance, and can recover off any damage thanks to Roost.
**Electric-types**: Thundurus is able to soak up any hit from Jellicent and threaten it back with Thunderbolt. Magnezone can also take any hit from Jellicent and retaliate with Thunderbolt or Volt Switch to gain momentum. Rotom-W can cripple Jellicent with Will-O-Wisp and threaten it with a Volt Switch. Zapdos can threaten Jellicent with a STAB Electric-type move and recover off any damage Jellicent dishes out with Roost.
**Grass-types**: Serperior can threaten Jellicent with Leaf Storm or set up Substitute safely on it. Amoonguss can soak up anything Jellicent throws out and threaten it back with Spore or Giga Drain while being able to recover off any damage with Regenerator. Tangrowth shares a similar role, as it also has Regenerator and can threaten Jellicent with Giga Drain or Knock Off.
**Dark-types**: Strong Dark-types like Tyranitar, Weavile, Crawdaunt, Bisharp, and Hydreigon can threaten Jellicent with a Dark-type move like Knock Off, Pursuit, Crunch, or Dark Pulse. However, a majority of them are physical attackers that do not appreciate taking Will-O-Wisp.
**Status**: Status moves like Toxic and Will-O-Wisp chip down Jellicent, forcing it to use Recover or switch out. Jellicent also does not appreciate Thunder Wave, as it becomes slower than defensive Pokemon, allowing them to use a move before it can use Taunt.
**Offensive Pressure**: Attacks that can do a lot of damage and force Jellicent to use Recover are threatening towards it. These attacks include Thunder Punch from Mega Metagross and Mega Medicham, Hidden Power Grass from Keldeo, Tail Glow-boosted attacks from Manaphy, Choice Specs-boosted Draco Meteor from Latios, Moonblast from Mega Diancie, Return from Mega Lopunny, and Thunderbolt from Mega Latias.
