[SET COMMENTS]

Grassy Seed Grookey acts as a decently strong wallbreaker and late-game cleaner. The combination of Grassy Surge and Grassy Seed empowers Acrobatics, allowing Grookey to muscle through checks like Mienfoo and Larvesta as well as opposing Grass-types in Foongus, Grookey, and Morelull. Drain Punch provides good coverage against Ferroseed and OHKOes Pawniard. Knock Off is a noteworthy mention that lets +2 Grookey OHKO Natu, but it worsens Grookey's matchup against Pawniard. The Defense boost from Grassy Seed allows Grookey to survive Trapinch's First Impression.

This set works exceptionally well when paired up with Mienfoo, which can bring Grookey in safely with U-turn and help soften up checks in Koffing, Natu, and Ponyta. Diglett can trap Mareanie and Ponyta so that Grookey has an easier time sweeping. Psychic-types in Abra and Natu work great alongside Grookey, beating Poison-types such as Koffing and Mareanie. Stealth Rock Pawniard is a great partner that can beat Natu and benefit from Grassy Terrain weakening Earthquake. Tyrunt can take advantage of Fire-types like Vulpix, and it similarly appreciates the Grassy Terrain support.

Grassy Seed Grookey acts as a decently strong wallbreaker and late-game cleaner at the cost of immediate power and flexibility. The combination of Grassy Surge and Grassy Seed turns on Acrobatics, allowing Grookey to muscle through checks like Mienfoo and Larvesta, as well as opposing Grass-types in Foongus, opposing Grookey, and Morelull. Drain Punch provides good coverage against Ferroseed and Pawniard, OHKOing the latter. Knock Off is an alternative that not only hits Natu super effectively and OHKOing at +2, but also softens up Koffing and Ponyta. (Gonna make Knock into a mention, it is too inconsistent to replace Drain and being walled by Pawn is bad) The defense boost that Grassy Seed provides allows Grookey to survive Trapinch's First Impression.

This set works exceptionally well when paired up with Mienfoo, which can bring Grookey in safely with U-turn and can help soften up shared checks in Koffing, Mareanie, Natu, and Ponyta.(Mare is not a Grookey check and Pony isn't a shared check) Diglett can trap Mareanie and Ponyta so that Grookey has an easier time sweeping. Abra is another great partner, beating Poison-types that threaten Grookey.(You can throw in Natu too) Stealth Rock Pawniard is a great partner that can threaten Natu, while Grookey can weaken Earthquake by setting Grassy Terrain. Tyrunt can threaten the Fire-types that beat Grookey and similarly appreciates the Grassy Terrain support. (I would vary up the wording a bit; threaten is used three times in three consecutive sentences)

Grassy Seed Grookey acts as a decently strong wallbreaker and late-game cleaner. The combination of Grassy Surge and Grassy Seed turns on empowers Acrobatics, allowing Grookey to muscle through checks like Mienfoo and Larvesta,(RC) as well as opposing Grass-types in Foongus, Grookey, and Morelull. Drain Punch provides good coverage against Ferroseed and OHKOes Pawniard,(RC) OHKOing the latter. Knock Off is a noteworthy mention that lets +2 Grookey OHKO Natu, but it worsens Grookey's matchup against Pawniard. The Defense(capitalize) boost that from Grassy Seed provides allows Grookey to survive Trapinch's First Impression. Knock Off is worth a mention as it can OHKO Natu at +2, but Grookey would rather be able to beat Pawniard so it's very rarely run.

This set works exceptionally well when paired up with Mienfoo, which can bring Grookey in safely with U-turn and can help soften up checks in Koffing, Natu, and Ponyta. Diglett can trap Mareanie and Ponyta so that Grookey has an easier time sweeping. Stealth Rock Pawniard is a great partner that can beat Natu,(RC) while Grookey can weaken Earthquake by setting Grassy Terrain and benefit from Grassy Terrain weakening Earthquake. Tyrunt can force out the Fire-types that beat Grookey take advantage of Fire-types like Vulpix,(AC) and it similarly appreciates the Grassy Terrain support.
