[OVERVIEW]
Gliscor is the premier defensive Ground-type of the tier being a staple on bulky offense, balance and stall teams alike. It uses its incredible longevity in the combination of Poison Heal and Roost as well as its crucial Speed tier to check dangerous threats like Heatran, Infernape and Lucario. It is also an excellent pivot utilizing U-turn to retain momentum and bring in hard hitting teammates like Alakazam, Weavile, Infernape and Crawdaunt. Gliscor also provides unique utility to its team being one of the few defoggers in the tier. It can utilize Defog to beat Stealth Rock setters in Heatran, Jirachi and Tyranitar. It can also act as a solid Stealth Rock setter itself instead as it gets many opportunities to set it up on Pokemon it forces out. Alongside Roost, Poison Heal provides Gliscor with excellent longevity, making it hard very hard to chip. Gliscor acts as a great Knock Off absorber and a deterrent to Trick Rotom-Wash thanks to its Toxic Orb. On the other hand, Gliscor tends to struggle against special threats like Latias and Rotom-Wash and finds itself walled by physically defensive Pokemon like Milotic, Slowbro and Rotom-Wash and Skarmory.

move 3: Roost
move 4: Stealth Rock / Defog

[SET COMMENTS]
Gliscor can act as either a Defogger that can switch in on and outlast hazard setters like Tyranitar, Roserade, Heatran and Jirachi while still being able to Defog against those with access to recovery like Skarmory and Clefable. Alternatively, it can act as a Stealth Rock setter whose good longevity allows it to set Stealth Rock multiple times throughout the course of a game. U-turn allows Gliscor to gain momentum and bring in hard hitting teammates that struggle to switch-in like Alakazam, Infernape and Weavile while shrugging off Stealth Rock damage thanks to Poison Heal. Knock Of punishes switchins by getting rid of their items, which is detrimental for Pokemon like Rotom-Wash, Milotic, and Latias further establishing its ability to outlast its checks. 120 Speed EVs allow it to outspeed Timid Heatran and Adamant Lucario, OHKOing them with Earthquake while 244 HP EVs maximize recovery from Poison Heal. 144 Special Defense lets it sponge hits better from special attackers like Heatran and Magnezone.
Rotom-Wash is notorious for often pairing up with Gliscor, as together they provide a VoltTurn core with complimentary types that allow them to cover each other's weaknesses, with Rotom-Wash answering Azumarill and Feraligatr and Gliscor beating Solar Beam Heatran and checking Magnezone. Scizor makes an excellent pairing for Gliscor checking Pokémon that threaten it like Weavile and Latias, while Gliscor covers Heatran and Infernape. Grass-types like Breloom, Celebi and Tangrowth make for excellent pairings as they are able to check Water-type Pokemon like Crawdaunt and Feraligatr. Pokemon that have trouble manually switching in like Weavile and Alakazam appreciate Gliscor's ability to absorb priority moves and pivot into them with U-turn.

name: Swords Dance
move 1: Earthquake
move 2: Facade
move 3: Roost
move 4: Swords Dance
item: Toxic Orb
ability: Poison Heal
nature: Jolly Nature
evs: 244 HP/ 144 SpD / 120 Spe
[SET COMMENTS]
Swords Dance Gliscor trades its utility to function as a potent win condition. It utilizes its excellent longevity in Poison Heal and Roost to outlast its checks and beat them in the long term. The combination of Earthquake and Facade provide Gliscor with coverage nearly unresisted by the tier, making it harder to consistently wall. Facade is great coverage for hitting Pokemon like Rotom-W and Tangrowth.
Due to the lack of support moves it runs, Swords Dance Gliscor best fits on balance teams that are able to support it via hazards in Toxic Spikes or Spikes as it helps Gliscor in chipping the opposing team harder and faster. Partners like Rotom-Wash, Tangrowth, Roserade and Celebi make excellent pairings checking Water-types. Scizor supports Gliscor by answering strong offensive Pokemon like Latias and Weavile which otherwise threaten it. Pokemon that aid Gliscor in pressuring its checks in Skarmory, Rotom-Wash and Tangrowth like Weavile and Dragonite provide much appreciated support for Gliscor to break through them.

Other Options
=============
Slower Gliscor spreads can be utilized to invest more into its Defense or Special Defense to boost its bulk and provide a slower U-turn, allowing it to tank hits like Infernape's Overheat or Choice Band Flare Blitz depending on which defensive stat is invested into and U-turning last against opposing Gliscors, which provides it with an advantage in momentum. However, this leaves Gliscor vulnerable to hits like Lucario's Swords Dance boosted Meteor Mash and Offensive Heatran's Magma Storm and Overheat. Taunt allows Gliscor to stop most attempts at getting hazards up or defogging them away and also allows it to completely shut down Skarmory, which can be useful on hazard stack teams. Knock Off can be ran on Swords Dance sets over Facade to remove Skarmory's Shed Shell and trap it with Magnezone. However, this significantly reduces Gliscor's coverage and damage output. Ice Fang allows Gliscor to threaten opposing Gliscor and Garchomp, but is generally unable to fit it into its movepool
Checks and Counters
===================
**Water-types**: Feraligatr and Starmie can set up on Gliscor with Dragon Dance or remove hazards with Rapid Spin respectively. Other Water-types like Choice Band Azumarill and Crawdaunt threaten to OHKO it and its partners. Rotom-W threatens Gliscor out with Hydro Pump, giving it an opportunity to use Volt Switch or Will-O-Wisp on the incoming Pokemon. However, these listed Pokemon cannot always switch into Gliscor and are usually outlasted.
**Ice-types and Ice-type coverage moves**: Weavile and Mamoswine are able to OHKO Gliscor with their STAB. Ice Beam Blissey prevents Gliscor from setting up on it, forcing it to spam Roost. However, due to their vulnerability to entry hazards and inability to directly switch into Gliscor, it can outlast them throughout a game thanks to its longevity.
**Physical Walls**: Skarmory, Milotic, Quagsire, and Slowbro can tank Gliscor's moves and force it out with Scald, Ice Beam and Whirlwind respectively while being hard to wear down due to their access to recovery.
