Project Gen8 National Dex OU Teambuilding Competition

Congratulations Slowpoke Fan for winning cycle 6 of the Teambuilding Competition!

Idea with this team is to use Ash-Greninja and Weavile as breakers with Future Sight support while hazards wear down the opposing team. Team is a bit fat but hardly passive since every defensive Pokemon on this team has access to high BP STAB moves and workable offensive stats. Use Weavile to pursuit trap or threaten Ash-Greninja's checks and Ferrothorn or Mega Venusaur to handle the bulky waters that Weavile cannot remove, such as Rotom-W or Tapu Fini. This team gets 6-0ed by Volcarona if you let it set up, so play proactively against it unless you are okay with slotting rock slide on Lando :psycry:
:ss/victini:
Our next featured mon is Victini! As a mascot of victory, prove that you are victorious by making the best Victini team! Scarf, Band, Sun, Z-move, the potential with this mon is endless.

CB Victini Sun
Banded Victini does ten billion percent under the sun and functions well as a pivot if rocks arent up. there isnt much to explain, this is pretty standard sun. Dont judge the waterium z rotom though cus i knew i was going to miss every hydro pump. plus sun isnt going to always be up on this type of team.

The models have an importable btw

fml I got sniped for Victini Sun. Anyways!

Victini Sun, But Heat
:torkoal: :victini: :venusaur: :Slowking: :kommo-o: :Diancie-mega:

This team uses Eject Button Slowking to bring in the two main breakers safely. Kommo-o is a great Knock Off switch-in as well as late-game cleaner. Mega Diancie keeps hazards off while adding another layer of threat to the team with its strong attacks appreciating Steel-types being gone.

Although the rules state that two of the same archetypes/cores are not allowed, I'll allow this one since each team's take on Victini under sun is different.

Our next featured mon is Zeraora! One of the mythical Pokémon that didn't receive the spotlight it deserved, I think it's time we give it some love. With great offensive stats and a wide move pool, there's incredible untapped potential with this Plasma Cat.

zeraora. everyone's favorite MU fish has gotten its way into totw and praying it doesnt run into a gliscor... but why fear the gliscor if everyone of your teammates can KILL it?
:ss/zeraora: :sm/diancie-mega: :ss/heatran: :ss/tapu_fini: :ss/weavile: :ss/landorus-therian:
5 gliscor lures+zeraora offence
https://pokepast.es/dbc6f1f428ccf75b
this team is generally oriented on the idea of spamming the shit out of ground type lures to enable zeraora to unleash... whatever power it has. more info down below
:zeraora:
resident “im completely blanked by gliscor” zeraora finds its place on this team as the resident shitmon. zeraora leverages its good speed tier to have a great mu into offensive team compositions once their ground type has been taken out. plasma fists+CC hits most members of teamcomps, and volt switch is to generally get out of otherwise uncomfortable positions vs bulkier mons that zeraora cant comfortably handle, like ferrothorn, kommo-o, or mega scizor, or buzzwole. toxicis what defines this set, as it wears down zeraora’s answers in garchomp and lando. admittedly toxic can probably be dropped here due to the lack of longevity this team has, preferably for knock off or hp ice.

:diancie-mega:
diancie is here due to its colorful coverage being able to nail much of the tier, with zeraora being an amazing partner as zeraora can eliminate stuff like toxapex, corviknight, the pink blobs, and tapu fini, while it can in return lure in gliscor and if not outright ko it, dent it for heavy damage with HP ice, and also just generally a good pokemon that isnt a useless sack of shit when it runs into a bulky teamcomp.. unlike zeraora.

:heatran:
probably the bestnground lure here, this is pretty much the mon a lot of grounds will have their entry point into. stuff like garchomp, gliscor, even lando may want to come in on this thing and get blasted for considerable damage. this is the main reason why its here, albeit its general strength, ability to handle scizor and ferrothorn, which is otherwise quite annoying for zeraora, and being an amazing ground lure give heatran its spot on the team. z-move is picked here to not miss magma in a pinch. toxic can be used over taunt albeit i find taunt to be more useful to apply aggressive pressure

:tapu_fini:
here to be a contingency greninja and weavile answer whilst also allowing heatran to slot in taunt, its just a generally good piece of speed control and its misty terrain helps its teammates sponge status and can defog in a pinch. notably its also a good kommo-o switch-in and threatens grounds with its stabs, is solid into the tiers rockers, and can be a good disruptor with trick.

:weavile:
its an ice type. ice beat ground. good mon. weavile specifically is sd as its just nice to have an actual wincon. this guy appreciates zeraora and diance nailing the birds with their strong stabs, whilst being able to easily handle grounds. good wincon too!!

:landorus-therian:
imagine my disappointment when i found out lando doesnt get natural gift… :( anyways hes a ground hes a ground immune he has rocks he has pivoting hes a blanket physical wall thats all you really need.

Similar idea to the team above, but uses electric spam and toxic Heatran to overwhelm ground type checks that would otherwise stonewall Zeraora so it can sweep late-game with a bulk up set. Sub Kyurem can be used at the cost of worsening the Scizor matchup while CM Tapu Fini provides another Gliscor and stall pressure point.

Our next featured mon is Tyranitar! Funnily enough it is also our first featured mon with a mega form! Banded, SpDef, Mixed, Mega, Utility, Tyranitar has it all! Show us your best sand monster team :^)

EDIT: Since this cycle has not received enough teams, the deadline will be extended until there is enough. Happy building!

offense team centered around using ttar's insane bulk to make trades and spam pursuit for the offensive threats on the team.

:tyranitar-mega:
the featured mon and enabler for the team. pursuits the big special walls for volcarona and lele, zapdos and latias for kartana, and other threats to the team like choice locked greninja or weavile. ice punch is so useful to hit gliscor which is super scary with sd.

:KARTANA:
sd kart is so good at punching holes in the opposing team, especially with its main checks being vulnerable to pursuit. it also enjoys setting up or spamming knock off on waters or steels that its teammates tend to attract.

:VOLCARONA:
volc has solid defensive utility making it easier to deal with stuff like kyurem or rillaboom. as always, it is an amazing wincon that can easily clean up with its checks removed via pursuit.

:rotom-wash:
fantastic utility mon that helps greatly with rain and greninja. dual status allows you to annoy everything that switches in, and pain split gives the team some longevity.

:landorus-therian:
classic defensive set, helping the team vs electrics and fightings. explosion is used over toxic to slam gliscor and other bulky mons with unexpected immediate damage, as well as gain momentum.

:tapu-lele:
just an incredible scarfer that also happens to love pursuit. volcarona loves terrain boosting its psychics and protecting it from priority, and ttar likes being immune to bullet punch. future sight is the last move to give the team even more breaking power while being a decent midground option.

Ttar is the GOAT of competitive pokemon. Even in the 8th generation it remains one of the hardest hitters in the game, especially with choice band (the focus of the team).

CB tyranitar good stuffs
:ss/victini: :ss/tapu fini: :ss/tyranitar: :ss/lopunny-mega: :ss/ferrothorn: :ss/landorus-therian:

:victini:
Provides great speed control and a stops mons like scizor, volcarona, and tapu lele from getting too far. Final gambit can remove mons like toxapex, slowbro, and zapdos at the drop of a hat, working very well with lopunny.

:tapu fini:
Ol reliable hazard removal, status blocking, hit taking machine.

:tyranitar:
The GOAT. Hits really hard, and can make its way in on a psychic, fire, flyer, or chansey from the 3 u-turns on the team. After that it goes to town.

:lopunny-mega:
Speed control and clean up after ttar wipes the floor of the defensive pokes. Good insurance against HO and weather.

:ferrothorn:
Designated spikes setter and prevents an autoloss to rain. Leech seed is great for increasing the longevity of your fini, ttar, and vic as well.

:landorus-therian:
Modern goat. Sets up rocks and snipes zapdos out of the air with a big rock.

The description is very short and basic, but that's because the team is very intuitive to use and there is no high brained tech to explain. Hope anyone using this team has as much fun as I did.
