Galarian Weezing's immense physical bulk and good defensive typing make it a good check to common threats such as Zarude, Mienshao, and Heracross. Neutralizing Gas also gives it some rather unique advantages over other defensive Pokemon in the tier, as it can neutralize Flame Orb Guts Heracross and Obstagoon, prevent Mienshao from using Regenerator to keep itself healthy, and remove damage-boosting abilities from the likes of Darmanitan and Cloyster. Unfortunately, Galarian Weezing's mediocre special bulk, lack of consistent recovery, and general passivity make it harder to support and fit on teams than its Fairy-type competition of Togekiss and Sylveon. Sludge Bomb is preferred over Sludge Wave due to its higher chance of poisoning the opposition. Galarian Weezing can be used as a Defogger, though it dislikes the presence of Stealth Rock setters such as Necrozma, Cobalion, and Rhyperior. Toxic Spikes can be useful for crippling Pokemon such as Seismitoad, Milotic, and Diancie, but it's a matchup-dependent move due to the prevalence of Heavy-Duty Boots as well as the large amount of viable Poison- and Steel-types such as Galarian Slowbro, Toxtricity, Cobalion, and Metagross. Pain Split gives Galarian Weezing a form of recovery, albeit an unreliable one. Will-O-Wisp is useful to burn threats such as Cobalion, Mienshao, and Cloyster. Corrosive Gas can be used to remove items from the likes of Seismitoad, Registeel, and Darmanitan. Rest is a viable option on stall teams to give Galarian Weezing a consistent, yet flawed, form of recovery. However, stall is a rather unreliable playstyle as a whole. Black Sludge is preferred to give Galarian Weezing more survivability. Rocky Helmet can be used to force more damage onto the likes of Zarude and Mienshao, but the recovery is missed and it should only be used with dedicated Wish support. Heavy-Duty Boots can also be used to mitigate entry hazard damage, but it has the same issue as Rocky Helmet in terms of lack of recovery.

Galarian Weezing can be used on balance and stall teams that cover for it sapping momentum and appreciate it checking big threats such as Zarude, Mienshao, and Heracross. Special attackers such as Galarian Slowbro, Thundurus, Necrozma, and Toxtricity can punch through Galarian Weezing with ease. Pokemon such as Registeel, Porygon2, and Assault Vest Reuniclus can help rectify this issue. Registeel and Porygon2 also appreciate Galarian Weezing supplying them with a switch-in to threatening Fighting-types. Galarian Weezing's typing also leaves it weak to Psychic-, Ground-, and Steel-types. Zarude is capable of checking Psychic-types such as Galarian Slowbro and Reuniclus as well as Ground-types such as Zygarde-10% and Rhyperior. Options such as Seismitoad, Suicune, and Volcanion are capable of taking on offensive Steel-types such as Cobalion and Metagross. Volcanion is also a capable Defogger, freeing up Galarian Weezing to run other moves, most notably Pain Split. Support from a Ground-type is also useful, as every Electric-type in the tier forces Galarian Weezing out, leading to a free Volt Switch otherwise. Seismitoad, Zygarde-10%, Rhyperior, and Steelix are viable partners as a result. Options such as Wish passing from the likes of Umbreon is useful, as Galarian Weezing lacks reliable recovery. This can be especially useful when Galarian Weezing is used on stall. Variants running Toxic Spikes could potentially be supported by bulky Calm Mind sweepers like Galarian Slowbro and Suicune, as Toxic Spikes can make them much harder to deal with. It is also recommended that you pack Pokemon to deal with Poison-types that can constantly absorb Toxic Spikes. Options such as Necrozma, Gardevoir, and Zygarde-10% can work here.

Galarian Weezing's immense physical bulk and good defensive typing makes it a good check to common threats such as Zarude, Mienshao, and Heracross. Its access to Neutralizing Gas also gives it some rather unique advantages over other Defensive Pokemon in the tier, as it can neutralize Flame Orb Guts Heracross and Obstagoon completely, prevent Mienshao from using Regenerator to keep itself healthy, and remove damage boosting abilities from the likes of Darmanitan and Cloyster. Unfortunately, Galarian Weezing's mediocre Special bulk, lack of consistent recovery, and general passivity in comparison to its competition make it an inconsistent choice in the metagame as a whole make it harder to support than Fairy-types like Togekiss and Sylveon (previous sentence would have been appropriate if it were like, c rank). Sludge Bomb is preferred over Sludge Wave due to its higher chance of Poisoning the opposition. Galarian Weezing can be used as a defogger, however it must be noted that it dislikes the presence of Stealth Rockers such as Necrozma, Cobalion, and Rhyperior. Toxic Spikes can be useful for crippling Pokemon such as Seismitoad, Milotic, and Diancie, however a large amount of the metagame isn't affected by them very much due to either their typing or Heavy-Duty Boots being standard on them, and Poison-types such as Galarian Slowbro, Roserade, and Toxtricity are being common they can be matchup dependent due to the prevalence of Heavy-Duty Boots, Steel-, and Poison types such as... (was too harsh). Pain Split is nice to give Galarian Weezing a form of recovery, albeit an unreliable one. Will-O-Wisp is useful to spread burns onto threats such as Cobalion, Mienshao, and Cloyster. Corrosive Gas can be used to remove items from the likes of Seismitoad, Registeel, and Darmanitan. Rest is a viable option on stall teams to give Galarian Weezing a consistent, yet flawed, form of recovery that allows it to stonewall its above threats even harder. However, Rest should only be considered on stall due to the need for a cleric, and stall is a rather which is an unreliable playstyle as a whole. Neutralizing Gas is the preferred ability to mess with Heracross, Obstagoon, Mienshao, Darmanitan, and Durant. Levitate can be used to wall certain Ground-types, most notably Rhyperior, but the most common offensive Ground-type, Zygarde-10%, uses Thousand Arrows and wins anyway, and Neutralizing Gas is generally more useful in more situations. Black Sludge is preferred to give Galarian Weezing more survivability, but Rocky Helmet can be used to force more damage onto the likes of Zarude and Mienshao. rocky helm reaaally misses the recovery. ud only rlly use it with a wish passer. also mention duty boots can be worth so zarude shao dont kill you by spamming uturn with rocks up.

Galarian Weezing can be used on more balanced and stall teams that can cover for it sapping momentum and appreciate it checking big threats such as Zarude, Mienshao, and Heracross. Galarian Weezing's special bulk is poor, and Special Attackers such as Galarian Slowbro, Thundurus, Necrozma, and Toxtricity can all punch through it with ease. Something with notable Special bulk, Pokemon such as Registeel, Porygon2, or Assault Vest Reuniclus can help rectify this issue. Registeel and Porygon2 also appreciate Galarian Weezing supplying them with a switch in to threatening Fighting-types. Galarian Weezing's typing also leaves it weak to Psychic-, Ground-, and Steel-types. Options such as Seismitoad, Suicune, and Volcanion are capable of taking on offensive Steel-types such as Cobalion and Metagross. Volcanion is also capable of Defogging, freeing up a moveslot for Galarian Weezing to run other moves, most notably Pain Split. Support from a Ground-type is also useful, as every Electric-type in the tier forces out Galarian Weezing with ease, leading to a free Volt Switch otherwise. Seismitoad, Zygarde-10%, Rhyperior, and Steelix are viable partners as a result. Options such as Wish passing from the likes of Umbreon or Sylveon (double fairy is awkward) is useful, as Galarian Weezing lacks super reliable recovery. This can be especially useful when Galarian Weezing is used on stall. Variants running Toxic Spikes could potentially be supported by bulky Calm Mind Sweepers like Galarian Slowbro or Suicune, as Toxic Spikes can make it much harder for opposing teams to deal with them. mention pokemon that can deal w/ poison types to make them more effective
