Gen 5 Forretress (QC 1/1 GP 1/1)

"Because... Scald is a shit Ferro answer!!!"
[OVERVIEW]

Forretress, in theory, has a niche in BW OU; unlike other entry hazard setters, it can both set Spikes up and spin them away. Forretress also can also run Toxic Spikes and Volt Switch; the former can be huge against sand teams, severely common Pokemon on those teams like Tyranitar, Garchomp, Terrakion and Keldeo while Volt Switch allows it to maintain momentum and lure in Ghost-types such as Jellicent and Gengar for Tyranitar to Pursuit trap . With these traits, Forretress may seem like a decent option on sand teams that appreciate its role compression.

However, Forretress is ultimately unviable because it cannot reliably keep entry hazards off the field. It struggles to spin because it's susceptible to being worn down by Ferrothorn's Iron Barbs, Skarmory's Rocky Helmet, and Garchomp's Rough Skin, all three of which are prevalent entry hazard setters, as well as forced out by Stealth Rock Heatran and Fire Blast + Stealth Rock Tyranitar. Forretress also faces stiff competition from other Steel-types that can set entry hazards. Ferrothorn has better Special Defense and is better equipped to deal with common rain Pokemon like Politoed, Tentacruel, Keldeo, and Latios, while Skarmory has an immunity to Spikes and Ground-type attacks alongside reliable recovery in Roost. Heatran and Jirachi are also better choices, as Heatran is one of the best answers to Volcarona in the tier and is more offensively threatening, while Jirachi can better answer Psychic-types such as Latios, Reuniclus, and Alakazam and pivot in teammates with its U-turn. Forretress is also extremely passive and often setup fodder for threats such as Calm Mind Reuniclus, Agility Thundurus-T, Quiver Dance Volcarona, and Calm Mind Keldeo. Finally, Excadrill outclasses Forretress as a Rapid Spin user due to its better offense pressuring Jellicent from coming in to spinblock it, as well as better answering Pokemon like Reuniclus.

Forretress has a very solid support movepool with Spikes, Stealth Rock and Toxic Spikes.
Very solid is too strong. Just say a nice support movepool.

evade trapping from Magnezone
No it doesn't, you're slower. This typa thing only works on like U-Turn Jirachi since it's faster than Zone.

and lure in Ghost-types such as Jellicent and Gengar
To do what?

These traits make it somewhat appealing to some niche sand teams that aren't able to fit a spikes setter such as Ferrothorn and Skarmory.
This is way too positive for a mon that sucks like this one. Move this sentence to be the first one and rephrase it to say something akin to "Forretress may seem like a decent option on sand teams that..."

However, Forretress comes with some very severe flaws.
Make this harsher and say "Forretress is not used because..."

One of Forretress' biggest problems is that it cannot reliably keep hazards off especially when it gets worn down when attempting to spin against Ferrothorn and Rocky Helmet Skarmory.
Against what other rockers if any does it struggle to keep off against? And if the only ones that it can't block are Ferrothorn and RH Skarm, rephrase the sentence to make it a focal point about how those are very common Spikers.

Forretress is also extremely passive and is often setup fodder for Swords Dance Garchomp, Dragon Dance Dragonite and Quiver Dance Volcarona.
This seems a bit counterintuitive with HP Ice on the set. Firstly, say "setup fodder for Pokemon like..." to keep the door more open for mons that can abuse Forre. Also, replace SD Chomp and DD Nite with CM Reuni and Agility Thundurus (and or CM Keldeo if you'd rather).

Finally, Skarmory and Ferrothorn outclass it as a hazard setter as the former has a Ground-immunity and better longevity via Roost while the latter's Grass-typing allows it to perform better against rain teams.
Add how Skarmory is also immune to Spikes with the better longevity point, Ferrothorn being able to better answer Latios, add how Heatran can counter Volcarona and poses an offensive threat. and how Jirachi better answers Psychic-types like Latios, Alakazam, and Reuniclus due to its better special bulk.

As a spinner, Forretress faces competition against Excadrill, who is much stronger and is better equipped to pressure Jellicent and Gengar.
Just say it better pressures the entire metagame, then make a point how it's better at spinblocking since it scares Jellicent.
