[SET COMMENTS]

Choice Specs Dragapult is a simple offensive set that outspeeds any Pokemon not utilizing Choice Scarf. Draco Meteor is Dragapult's strongest attack and is STAB-boosted and used to KO both frail and Dragon-type Pokemon. Shadow Ball also receives a boost from STAB and hits Pokemon such as non-Choice Scarf Gengar, Galarian Corsola, and Chandelure for super effective damage. Flamethrower is mostly used to hit Steel-types such as Corviknight, Excadrill, and Ferrothorn. Hydro Pump is an option that improves matchups against Arcanine and non-Assault Vest Rhyperior, while Thunder may be used to have a chance against Togekiss and bulky Water-types, but neither is reliable in nature. The given Speed EVs allow Dragapult to outspeed Pokeomon like Inteleon and Adamant Choice Scarf Dracovish while Speed tying opposing Modest Dragapult. An alternative EV spread of 72 Def / 204 SpA / 232 Spe and a Timid nature can be used to give Dragapult a fair chance against Crustle, outspeed Choice Scarf users as fast as Jolly Dracovish and Dracozolt, and beat opposing Dragapult without a Speed-boosting nature, but the drop in power is very noticeable and affects the reliability of matchups such as Galarian Corsola and defensive Rotom formes. For this reason, it's also advisable to substitute Flamethrower for Fire Blast when using this spread to secure KOs against Excadrill and Bewear.

Dragapult does well on teams with walls such as Corsola, Corviknight, and Milotic, as it's able to take on many of the hardest-hitting Pokemon in the tier such as Choice Band Galarian Darmanitan, Dracovish, Choice Specs Hydreigon, which can brute through stall. In turn, Dragapult appreciates their ability to take on most Choice Scarf users that can outspeed it such as Hydreigon, Haxorus, and Sawk. Dragapult does not hit especially hard, so many Pokemon may run EVs to tank hits from it, such as Aegislash and Arcanine, which a Dragapult user should be aware of. Dragapult is very easy to use; with few exceptions, use the move the deals the most damage.

move 4: Fire Blast / Flamethrower
item: Choice Scarf
ability: Infiltrator

evs: 224 HP / 20 Def / 252 SpA / 12 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

Choice Scarf Dragapult outspeeds every relevant Pokemon in 1v1 and serves to eliminate opposing Choice Scarf users. Draco Meteor is Dragapult's strongest STAB-boosted attack and is used to OHKO Dragon-types not using Haban Berry like Haxorus and opposing Dragapult, as well as 2HKOing a variety of Pokemon. Shadow Ball also receives a boost from STAB and hits Pokemon such as Chandelure and some Mimikyu sets, and Thunderbolt is used primarily to 2HKO Togekiss. Both Fire Blast and Flamethrower are used mostly to hit Steel-types such as Excadrill and Ferrothorn. The prior is useful to beat certain Galarian Darmanitan and Corviknight sets, while the latter is more reliable on account of accuracy. This set uses 252 SpA EVs with a Modest nature to deal as much damage as possible and 12 Speed EVs to outpace Choice Scarf users up to base 97 Speed, including Togekiss and Haxorus. The given HP and Defense EVs allow Dragapult to survive maximum investment Togekiss's Dazzling Gleam while also maximizing physical bulk, which is useful against Pokemon such as Crustle.

Given that this set is used to beat the fastest Pokemon in the metagame, it should be used with Pokemon that are vulnerable to them. Frail wallbreakers such as Choice Band Galarian Darmanitan, Durant, and Life Orb Excadrill make for great teammates, as Dragapult can take on threatening Pokemon like opposing Dragapult and Choice Scarf Dracovish and Sawk. In turn, Dragapult appreciates their ability to take on many of the bulkier threats that give it issues such as Sylveon and Duraludon. Choice Scarf Dragapult faces a very real weakness in its inability to hit hard and will lose to almost any Pokemon that isn't OHKOed and uses a damage-boosting item\, can hit Dragpault super-effectively, or has sustainable recovery such as Duraludon, Aegislash, Galarian Corsola, and Arcanine. Dragapult is very easy to use; with few exceptions, use the move that deals with most damage.
