3- Team Introduction:

This Stall team attempts to mix the modern structure of Stall with the utility offered by the new Pokemon that became available this DLC, Clefable and Gliscor.

With the redistribution of Knock off, :Clefable:and :Gliscor:´s presence is extremely important, as they are indirectly immune to hazards and do not require Heavy-Duty Boots to function properly. They can absorb Knock Off freely in most scenarios, allowing the rest of the team to keep their HDB, as this team has no form of hazard removal.

This team also takes advantage of a fairly centralized new meta, as Ogerpon, :Baxcalibur:and:Manaphy: Veil teams limit most team structures in terms of viability, although I expect this team to remain strong, even if these Pokemon get banned in the near future.

With that being said, let´s get to know the roles of every Pokemon on the team.

4- Individual Roles of Team Members

4.1- Gliscor

1694806694103.png

:Gliscor: is a very useful Physical Wall, Knock Off absorber and Spikes setter, taking advantage of a hazard resilient Flying/Ground typing, that grants it an immunity to Spikes, while maintaining a neutrality to Stealth Rock, combined with the Poison Heal ability, that cancels the Stealth Rock damage received every time it comes into the field. Even though :Gliscor: lost Roost this generation, Protect allows it to both trigger toxic orb safely and achieve passive recovery throughout the game.

:Gliscor: is tasked with answering :Great Tusk: (short of ice spinner), :Landorus-Therian:, :Glimmora:, :Sneasler:, Choice Band :Zamazenta: as well as passive Pokemon like :Amoonguss: :Clodsire:, :Corviknight:, :Ting-lu: or even opposing :Gliscor:, utilizing it´s good match-ups and passive recovery to set up Spikes.

Tera Steel allows it to switch into certain Pokemon the rest of the team can´t cover well, such as :Meowscarada:, :Maushold: or Choice Band :Rillaboom: .

4.2- Clefable
1694807969807.png

:Clefable: is the team´s only Stealth Rocker and Wish Passer, taking advantage of it´s good match-up against :Great Tusk: to ensure hazards stay on the field, and making occasional use of Tera Ghost to deny Rapid Spin.
Clefable´s fairy typing allows it to absorb Knock off from most Dark types, such as :Roaring Moon:, :Tyranitar: and :Samurott-Hisui:, as well as booster :Iron Valiant:.

Leftovers + Protect help :Clefable: stay healthy throughout the match whenever the team relies on :Gliscor: to absorb Knock Off, allowing it to sometimes come in on :Baxcalibur:, :Garchomp:, :Dragonite: as well as other passive Pokemon.

:Clefable:´s Wish synergizes well with Gliscor´s lack of direct recovery and :Dondozo:´s reliance on Rest to stay healthy.

4.3- Dondozo
1694875181538.png

I believe :Dondozo: needs no introduction, it is the physically bulkiest Pokemon most Stall teams can afford, utilizing it´s Unaware ability and solid defensive typing to answer :Kingambit: and :Baxcalibur: as well as a great variety of Dragon Dance, Swords Dance, Curse, and Bulk up users. The DLC brought a few new Pokemon Dondozo can answer in some capacity, such as :Crawdaunt: (when spikes aren´t an issue), Swords Dance :Gliscor: and :Infernape:, as well as:Mamoswine:.

This Pokemon can utilize Tera Dragon to reliably wall Ogerpon-Hearthflame, and change it´s match-up against Grass and Electric types that would hit it super effectively, such as :Iron Hands:, Shell Smash :Torterra: and :Pawmot: .

4.4- Tornadus-Therian
1694809454293.png

:Tornadus-Therian: received a new move in this DLC, Knock Off, allowing this team to defeat opposing Stall teams, following long-term correct play. :Tornadus-Therian: makes use of Regenerator to function as a very potent lead and revenge killer, getting a positive or neutral trade-off against basically every possible match-up, either removing an item, gaining momentum or even achieving a KO with it´s powerful Bleakwind Storm and Heat Wave combo.

This Pokemon is the team´s only Grass Resistance before Tera, generally being tasked with switching into most Ogerpon forms or Meowscarada when predicting Flower Trick.
The Unova Legendary has great late-game clean-up potential, abusing hazards and the items it previously knocked off to its advantage.

Tera Fire can be used to nuke :Ninetales-Alola: and :Gholdengo: with Heat Wave in certain situations, while turning this Pokemon into a very solid Ogerpon-Heartflame answer.

4.5- Toxapex

1694819795858.png

Despite not receiving any buffs with the release of DLC 1, :Toxapex: is still a very relevant Pokemon in the metagame due to its capacity to wall :Manaphy: (psychic isnt real), through the combination of Haze and Infestation. Toxapex can scout :Dragapult:, :Kommo-O: and :Enamorus:´s sets and aswer :Iron Valiant: in situations where the opponent does not have Spikes.

Tera Steel allows this Pokemon to defeat most Stored Power users, such as :Hatterene:, :Cresselia: and :Jirachi: .

4.6- Blissey
1694822162552.png

:Blissey: is the main Special Wall of the team, being able to wall :Walking Wake: :Iron Moth: Nasty Plot :Gholdengo: (through calm mind) as well as the newly introduced :Ursaluna: Bloodmoon form.
Max Special Defense EVs allow this Pokemon to preserve Soft Boiled PP since it is tasked with answering Special Attackers exclusively.

Protect allows Blissey to reliably shut down Future Sight combos and scout for doubles and lure sets whenever Protect PP is not needed.

Tera Water makes this Pokemon resist the attacks of weather nukes, most notably Tera Water :Walking Wake:´s Hydro Steam in Sun, while acting as a back-up answer to :Manaphy: that run Psychic for Toxapex.

5- Bad Match-ups and Counterplay

5.1- Psyshock Gholdengo
1694822909865.png

Psyshock is the only move that allows Nasty Plot :Gholdengo: to defeat :Blissey: reliably.
The only counterplay to this set is to Terastallize :Tornadus-Therian: into a Fire Type and use it to answer :Gholdengo: with a boosted Heat Wave.
80 Spd EVs give tornadus a 68.7% chance to live a +2 Shadow Ball from Timid Nature :Gholdengo: in case it Terastallizes to live Heat Wave, although Modest :Gholdengo: has a 87.5% chance to OHKO, winning the game on the spot.

5.2- Tera Electric Manaphy
1694875899593.png

:Manaphy: is a very potent wallbreaker when it is running the right coverage. In this case, the coverage that hurts this team the most is Tera Blast Electric, since at least Psychic versions can be met with a solid response from Tera Water :Blissey:.

To beat this set, you will have to rely on Calm Mind Blissey withouth Terastallizing, clicking CM as manaphy gets to +6 Spa and hoping to not get crit before you are able to kill it with Seismic Toss. The Manaphy player can choose to attack you with a +3 Scald/Surf and switch out, making you spend Soft Boiled PP and pressuring Blissey further, meaning that keeping hazards up to limit this strategy can play a big role in answering this threat.

5.3- CM Moonlight Ursaluna Bloodmoon
1694876582810.png

Although :Blissey: is able to reliably answer most :Ursaluna: Bloodmoon sets, the Calm Mind + Moonlight variant is by far the most threatening, due to it´s capacity to set up alongside :Blissey: and fish for a Critical Hit. :Ursaluna:´s high HP stat, paired with leftovers recovery, limit Seismic Toss´s capacity at forcing it out, allowing it to reliably get to +6 Spa and OHKO Blissey with a Blood Moon Crititcal Hit.

While in some match-ups it is advised to risk getting crit, whenever :Gliscor: is of no use, sacrificing it to get a toxic off is a valid response to guarantee the win. Also, if the :Ursaluna: player isn´t careful and runs out of Blood Moon instead of spamming Earth Power in front of Blissey, both :Tornadus-Therian: and :Gliscor: will be able to wall it.

how do you deal with dark gambit with glasses? i feel like without tera fighting dozo it becomes very hard to stop since everything to kowtow, with the exception of clef which probs does 60 back with moonblast
everything else looks great, nice to see stall evolve alongside the meta so quickly

Tera dark gambit only becomes a problem late game with at least Fallen 3, meaning you can probably get a faster toxic off with Gliscor withouth them having any way to prevent it. You can also keep max hazards up and sacrifice intelligently in order to bring in dondozo safely and limit it.

Are there anything you can do against choice band crawdawnt?
Water Stab 2HKOs clef and 2HKO pex
Dozo can be 3 HKOed by knock but paired with hazards cant switch in at all
For reference: https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen9ou-1950230331-ug2j7hdfemzwlmuxowulgr5vvmzhtnapw
Crawdant can't really come in for free on anyone. If u have Gliscor in front of it u can protect scout, same with Clef and Blissey, if it locks into water move u go Dondozo/Pex, if it locks into Knock of u go Clefable.

With that being said, life orb is more problematic, but you can simply keep hazards up and limit it to one kill at most, especially with Life Orb Recoil.

5.3- CM Moonlight Ursaluna Bloodmoon

Is Ursaluna really a bad match'up ? Like you just have to protect when they Blood Moon and then Calm Mind when the opponent can't Blood Moon. But this strategy still seems hard against good player so you have to Protect at the right turn. Anyway great team, great rmt and great peak ! Gratz !
