Runo
I get imposter syndrome from playing mons!!!
[SET]
Revenge Killer (Ditto) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Imposter
Hidden Power: Ice / Ground
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
IVs: 1 Spe
- Transform
[SET COMMENTS]
Ditto functions as a niche Choice Scarf user thanks to Imposter allowing it to transform into dangerous opposing setup sweepers such as Galarian Moltres, Celesteela, Thundurus-T, and Alakazam while always outspeeding them and potentially reverse sweeping. Ditto also serves as a solid response to stall teams, since it can effectively PP stall threats like Skarmory and Clefable while also acting as a strong Knock Off absorber against threats such as Mega Sableye and Hisuian Goodra, with the added bonus of PP stalling more efficiently after it loses its Choice Scarf. Ditto can also remain healthy against these teams by copying Regenerator from Slowbro and Amoonguss and Natural Cure from Chansey. Transform is Ditto's only possible move, so it must be used. Although the case is rare, Ditto has a multitude of Hidden Power types to choose from, such as Hidden Power Ice and Ground to hit threats such as Tangrowth, Thundurus, and Magnezone that commonly carry Hidden Power. The given EV spread allows Ditto to possibly win Struggle wars against opposing Ditto. Using 1 Speed IV is optional, but it makes sure that Ditto is as slow as possible to help against opposing Ditto and guarantees that it can still use Hidden Power Ground. Seeing as how Ditto requires a lot of defensive support to make up for its rather mediocre HP stat, it fits best on bulky balance and stall teams that can afford to stack defensive checks more reliably than other playstyles, and in return, Ditto provides these slower playstyles with a consistent means of speed control. Ditto is completely helpless against Substitute users such as Iron Moth and Iron Hands, so more direct checks such as Ting-Lu and Mega Venusaur can help support it, while Ditto can revenge kill Thundurus and Celesteela for them in return. Ditto's mediocre HP stat can also land it in tricky situations against more offensive teams with high-powered wallbreakers such as Nasty Plot Alakazam and Swords Dance Aegislash, since it struggles to switch into them, so defensive pivots such as Slowking, Unaware Clefable, and Mandibuzz are much appreciated to help it get on the field more easily. Bulky setup sweepers such as Mega Latias and Clefable can also heavily annoy Ditto, since it struggles to do significant damage back to them. Phazers such as Skarmory and Ting-Lu, as well as more direct checks such as Celesteela, are needed in order to beat them. Unaware Pokemon such as Quagsire and Clefable are also great partners to combat them, while Ditto can function as a backup in case they're overwhelmed by more offensive threats like Hydreigon and Excadrill. Ditto hates entry hazards, since they cut into its longevity, so hazard control options such as Mega Sableye and Skarmory are great support for it on stall teams, while balance teams can opt for bulky Excadrill or utility Mega Latias.
