Diggersby is a very niche option among the plethora of wallbreakers in the tier. It offers a solid typing that gives it an immunity to both Ghost- and Electric-type attacks, allowing it to come in on common attacks like Shadow Ball from Dragapult or Aegislash and Volt Switch from Rotom-H. It has access to priority in Quick Attack, which allows it to revenge kill weakened threats like Zeraora, Hydreigon, and Kyurem. Fire Punch most notably hits Corviknight but also takes out Ferrothorn. It should be noted that Diggersby is very prediction reliant because Pokemon immune to either of its STAB attacks are quite common, but it is generally able to do tremendous damage if you predict properly.
Because Diggersby is capable of blowing holes in the opposing team, late-game cleaners like Dragapult and Zeraora pair well with it. Diggersby is vulnerable to being revenge killed by threats like Dragapult, Hydreigon, Conkeldurr, Terrakion, and Kyurem, which makes Fairy-types like Clefable and Sylveon excellent teammates. They are also able to provide Wish support, which Diggersby appreciates. Pivots like Corviknight, Rotom-H, and Mandibuzz are also solid partners, since they are capable of bringing in Diggersby with U-turn or Volt Switch.
