Hello lovelies! I dunno about y'all, but I am very, very glad that the 2010's are over. That aside, I've been loving this gen post-Dynamax. The dial back in power creep (Dynamax notwithstanding) is like a breath of fresh air, and I think allows for way more diversity than if they just upped the ante with yet more broken shit. Remember Sigilyph? It's viable now! Anyway, now that the meta is starting to look more stable, I thought I would share my first successful team. Bulky offense was unplayable with D-Max in the tier, but now that it's gone I think that it's going to thrive going forward, so without further ado~

Teambuilding:

:gastrodon::bronzong::drapion:
Bronzong + Gastrodon + SpDef Drapion is a really solid BO core that covers most of the tier between them defensively while not being too too passive.

:gastrodon::bronzong::drapion::sigilyph:
At this point I needed some offensive presence, a Fighting check, and a way to threaten Weezing balance. LO 3 attacks Sigilyph gives me all of this in one.

:gastrodon::bronzong::drapion::sigilyph::whimsicott:
Scarf Whimsicott gives us some much-needed Speed control, a pivot, and an OK bit of defensive utility with its typing. Infiltrator is pretty clutch too.

:gastrodon::bronzong::drapion::sigilyph::whimsicott::sirfetchd:
I had plenty of defensive synergy, but not enough firepower, so CB Sirfetch'd was added on the end as a breaker.

The Team:

:xy/gastrodon::bronzong::drapion::sigilyph::whimsicott::sirfetchd:
Gastrodon @ Leftovers
Ability: Storm Drain
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Earth Power
- Yawn
- Recover

So, I actually love Gastrodon in this tier and think it's super underrated. Gastro's typing + Water immunity + Yawn just make it an awesome support and really annoying to handle unless you have something like Synthesis Tsareena. I thought that losing Toxic would really suck for this thing, but pretty much all of my members benefit from the quasi-phazing provided by Yawn, letting me either get up hazards or bring in one of my offensive mons as the opponent tries to get back momentum. Rest of the set is standard, letting Bronzong breathe easy versus the likes of Gengar, Inteleon, and Arcanine.

:gastrodon::xy/bronzong::drapion::sigilyph::whimsicott::sirfetchd:
Bronzong @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Psychic
- Gyro Ball
- Protect
- Stealth Rock

Speaking of underrated, Bronzong pairs really really well with Gastrodon, namely handling Grass-types and stronger hits that Gastro doesn't always wanna take like Indeedee's Psychic. As a Rocks setter, Zong matches up well versus a lot of the removal in this tier, too. Weezing, Mr. Rime, Noivern, Tsareena, all walled. Having a solid Psychic resist is also nice to take a load off of Drapion and Sigilyph's shoulders, since I can't have those two switching into stuff like Rapidash.

:gastrodon::bronzong::xy/drapion::sigilyph::whimsicott::sirfetchd:
Drapion @ Black Sludge
Ability: Battle Armor
EVs: 248 HP / 200 SpD / 60 Spe
Careful Nature
- Knock Off
- Taunt
- Toxic
- Toxic Spikes

My first two were looking pretty passive, so I added Taunt Toxic Drapion to help in the stall and balance matchup. Drap's typing also seals the deal defensively versus Psychic-, Dark-, and Ghost-types when paired with Gastro and Bronzong. I made it super bulky for that reason. I know you usually run Attack investment but yeah I just really needed insurance versus Reuniclus and Gengar and stuff. Versus offense, I usually use it to spam Knock Off and status early- to mid-game and soften things up for my own offensive mons. Having a hard answer to most slow CM users with Taunt + Toxic is also pretty lit.

:gastrodon::bronzong::drapion::xy/sigilyph::whimsicott::sirfetchd:
Sigilyph @ Life Orb
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Psychic
- Air Slash
- Heat Wave
- Roost

Sigilyph is my first real offensive mon and a pain for fatter teams to take down. It also smashes broken webs which is pretty great hah. Magic Guard making Sigi so hard to chip means Psychic is super spammable mid- to late-game versus Weezing balance. Not much wants to come in on its coverage moves besides bulky Darks so it can just become a massive menace really quickly with hazards up. Base 97 is a really solid Speed tier in this meta, too, letting you revenge kill or trade versus stuff like Obstagoon and Lucario.

:gastrodon::bronzong::drapion::sigilyph::xy/whimsicott::sirfetchd:
Whimsicott @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Infiltrator
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Moonblast
- Energy Ball / Switcheroo
- Psychic
- U-turn

I made Whimsicott my Scarfer mostly for its typing, U-turn, and Infiltrator to help with the Screens matchup. I definitely wouldn't recommend this set on every team, but between all those traits Scarf Whims gave me exactly what I needed. Offensive teams don't actually have very much for fast Moonblast, I've found. Whims is also fast enough to revenge kill most mons found on Webs teams eve at -1, so that's really cool. I had Switcheroo over Energy Ball initially, but upon testing I found that chipping Ground-types is actually pretty useful and my fat matchup felt safe enough so I ditched it. It's a shame, though, since without Switcheroo it doesn't do much of anything versus fat besides U-turn, but like I said Whims is mostly here to be anti-offense, so it's not a big deal.

:gastrodon::bronzong::drapion::sigilyph::whimsicott::xy/sirfetchd:
Sirfetch'd @ Choice Band
Ability: Scrappy
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Knock Off
- First Impression
- Defog

Holy shit, this mon. What can I say? You click CC and everything dies. Since I only have one pivot, it isn't always easy to bring Sirfetch'd directly in, but it's really not that bad since you get so much mileage out of every hit you get off. Umbreon and Doublade are also popular enough to give you free switch-ins which is pretty solid. Obviously you're gonna be clicking CC most of the time, but First Impression is also nice revenge killing option in a pinch versus annoying Psychics. I have literally never clicked Defog but it's there if you're desperate.

Threatlist:
:weavile: - Broken. Strong physical attackers in general are a pain for this team since I have no physical wall, but Weavile's STAB's terrorize this team so I have to get Rocks up and pivot well otherwise it just picks off everybody.
:claydol: - Tough mon to wear down, but Gastro and Sigi can both come in and annoy it so it doesn't wall everybody.
:copperajah: - No switchins whatsoever lmao Copperajah is fucking nutty. I go for any chip I can on this thing and hope for the best.
:doublade: - Tough to chip but not the end of the world. As long as it's not at 100% late-game you should be fine.
:mew: - SpDef Mew is pretty annoying for this team to handle. Sigilyph can switch in if it isn't, like, Ice Beam, but if I lose Sigi then my best bet is to chip it into range of First Impression or Knock Off.
:durant: - Click X
