  • Follow all rules listed here.
  • Schedule via Smogon VMs or in your team's war room in the Discord. It's easier for me to make decisions for activity calls when I can actually see what went down with scheduling.
  • If you are unable to schedule with your opponent, please let your managers know ASAP so they can communicate that to me or the other team's managers for a potential substitute.
  • Substitutions may be made after a week has started. When making a substitution, please tag myself, the managers of the opposing team, and all of the players affected by the substitute to ensure that everyone is made aware. Players who have already played in the week or were subbed out in the same week cannot be subbed back in.
  • If a match remains incomplete by the time of the deadline, it will be subject to an activity call.
  • Replays are mandatory. Not only are they useful for confirming wins, they contribute to usage stats and allow the people who couldn't watch the games live to watch them later.
  • Managers: Please send me your lineups in the same format that I used to post pairings. It makes it much easier to post future rounds more quickly.

The deadline for this week is Sunday, November 5th at 11:59 PM GMT -5.

The people have spoken it is finally time

Kcric vs PZZ
Here we have a MU with Kcric who is arguably considered top 3 in the pool yet is consistently losing in team tours while PZZ who is consistently performing in lower level tournaments and is is 3-0 atm and wanting to prove himself in the big stage here in DCL by taking down Fraudkcric this week

On Kcrics side The MU seems very favorable, defensively Celesteela is able to put off PZZ's top threats in Diancie + Chomp and offensively Kcric is gonna be able to overwhelm PZZ. Beedrill is able to freely throw off Uturns vs pzz uncontested and bring in ape for a kill basically every turn of the game, Kyurem Black can easily run max bulk here due to the speed tier of the opponents team and live every attack beside a Z dragon or diancie moonblast (PZZ has to account for resist berrys) Z move sets are basically claiming one no matter what while also having the potential for scarf (dogshit but bringable) Kcric will have no problems keeping off rocks for his big threats because Starmie will be able to beat his rockers consistently this MU but has to fear pursuit trapping from muk so you will probably see a colbur/reflect type/reflect starmie from Kcrics POV and he still has a potential AV/phsy def Donphan in the back.

From PZZ side its not looking too hot for our boy, Offensively his best threats are all kept in check. Mega Diancie is going to have some trouble breaking past Kcrics walls as defensive Celesteela and a potential av phan, Garchomp will need to bring a breaker set with z here if it wants to break past Celestella Donphan and Starmie. Defensively hes not gonna be able to check alot of Kcrics threats, as stated previously Beedrill is faster then PZZ's whole team and is able to spam uturn into ape is a free kill from him and he really cannot stop that, If he tries to run occa steelix (hes getting lifeorb focus blasted) kcric can easily scout because starmie is free on steelix every single time. Kyurem is basically staying in on every mon and trading. PZZ's best win chance here is trying to break and trade early game with Chomp/Buzzwole and setting up for a late game Agility thundurus sweep, if hes able find a way to keep up rocks and chip av phan into range Tbolt focus blast and grassknot can sweep.

In the end, I will give the win to Kcric due to MU being in his favor and knowing he is not so dogshit to let it go to waste to get themselves back at more than 1 win on the season

Robjr Vs Sablo
Here we have a MU between 2 of the better ORAS players in the pool. Both these players are 2 sides of the same coin Robjr has good playing with cookie cutter prep and we got sablo who somehow manages to botch his games 50% of the time with the chance of bringing some heat or complete dogshit (Sash nido lead that never kept up hazards vs starmie and payapa infernape vs a latios)

From Sablo's side Latios is interesting here, Its able to click moves and claim kills here as the speed tier is quite nice vs Robjr and his best way of beating it is scizor relying on Pursuit from it + Weavile. Lots of diffrent clefable sets can be brought here like just phsy def just for the weavile and gallde BUT Cosmic power weakness policy bs seems very potent if hes able to get it in on a free turn of setup vs gallade or weavile if it gets some boost before roserade or scizor are in it it can definitely be eved to live sludge bomb into banded bp and can definitely snowball. Aero Looks okay here on paper, It only has 1 defensive check in pert which he can chip down easily but robjr does have a lot of SE priority in shard and bullet punch to keep it at bay. If i was Sablo I'd just use Aero to pursuit trap roserade/Gallade and run HPGrass to 2hitko pert to open up a nidoking sweep For the last few mons its a mixup of whatever you want Throh with helmet is decent vs weavile, Nidoking is okay here but the speed tier is wack so you might want scarf on it otherwise itll be hard to get off attacks could also opt for resist berrys

Robjr
Here we got Robjr using probably one of the WORST oras drafts in the whole tournament. Landorus seems a bit weird here not sure what set robjr would opt in for, Depending on his gameplay a RP late game landorus sweep looks quite nice depending on the coverage he opts for or just a 4 attacks knock set to force progress is okay. Weavile looks really good this MU with its dual stabs and its priorty, the checks sablo have are not reliable into banded weavile as Clefable has to be basically max max bold to live 2 crashes (Flinch chance) and throh is an alright check but is abused because hes forced to rest if he brings it. Scizor can be a infinite amount of sets with late game SD/band to clean or just more of a defensive role here with a berry or scarf/av to help relieve the latios MU. Pert is a must here to help with aero/nidoking and frees up landorus from rocks. Roserade offensively looks great Sablo's only real check Jirachi which has potential to not even come or sablo will try to use a more bulky aero to pursuit trap it. Gallade is okay here but it looks tough to get the mega off, if he's able to position it SD with sneak can just straight up win with the proper chip on aero. (PS sablo is definitely a short sided stay in with colbur latios on a crash and having that latios straight up die abuse this robjr).

I think the mu has a slight edge to sablo and i think if Sablo is on point in the prep and Doesn't fuck around He should take this one tho i wont be suprised if Robjr manages to just outplay and win this one. Sablo takes this one

Too tired for this next one so it'll be brief

Luffy vs Harris
Here we have Luffy, someone who has done average at best in every major tournament and skyrocketed his price to 20k, he has also left an indelible mark on the metagame and shown the way to SV players everywhere by showing that Tera jolteon > Tera ogerpon (fraud). fishermen is more clear evidence that u buy harris as ur best player and you are destined for mediocrity and a 5th seed finish. How they think hes worth 4 yerdunc's is beyond me.

From a first look this is going to be a very offensive MU and there are many different ways Kyle can go about this MU. Late game valiant with booster has potential to win this game super easily. Sam ceasless edging spamming setting up into an easy tera scarf chi yu endgame looks viable as well. He has weezing helmet bs into chomp urshifu which is really solid and treads farms with its speed tier and coverage and can spam volt. rest of the mons dont even matta cus those all carry etc

Harris

Defensively Harris struggles to check a lot of kyles threats while also having a lot of his own offense owned by kyles walls. Rotom is alright here but gets pressured hard, garchomp urshifu as your main offensive pieces into weezing + kyles speed tiers is not the best. talon looks okay here u can probably run special to bait weezing beli chip to open up your other mons. Harris is gonna have to cook up a lot of techs probably gonna be pinch berries shit to get out of range/random av/scarfs to have a chance here me thinks...

MU seems to favor kyle here and i dont think the skill difference will make up for it so gonna give this one to Kyle

Cookie vs GypsyKing
Cookie
lucks fraudking in a close one gg

Habaduh vs Beardy
Here we have two well renowned players playing SV, both with good accolades in the tier across a few leagues. Habaduh's a very consistently good player that plays safe and sticks to the gameplan while Beardy tends to be quite the wild card and is looking to catch Habaduh off guard in this matchup.

Habaduh
Habaduh doesn't seem to be using one of the better drafts his team has to offer and definitely has his work cut out for him. A lot of his mons tend to be one dimensional and his defensive core of gking diancie struggles a lot to have a defensive presence in this meta. Fortunately his opponent has possibly the only gen 9 mon gking switches into in torn t which he could use as a tool to get momentum going. Non tera torn preferably runs support sets in this generation so he does have to fear taunt or uturn, perhaps warranting a button chilly set considering any turns staying in let overqwil hazard stack freely. However, his threats to chilly into are unfortunately quite lacking, since cetitan mence and tusk all have overqwil and a likely defensive mesprit to break through. His main offensive presence in this matchup is easily gren, which hits the whole team very hard with dual stab beam extrasensory coverage and may even threaten a sweep outright. Defensively, Habaduh has to worry about a lot of physical threats he might not have the answers to, like quaq and especially ogerpon, so he might need to make good use of his intimidate mence defensively as it does have the tools to take on these threats if you bring tera dragon to avoid an ice spinner quad weakness (this also works great offensively with treads being the only resist). A great plus side to Habaduh's side of the matchup is Beardy's lack of a spinblocker with an overqwil that would appreciate stacking, so Habaduh could use his tusk both for support or even for strong breaking power and potential cleaning with strong coverage into torn mesprit like ice spinner/head smash/stone edge and knock/megahorn.

Beardy
I think we can all agree he's using a pretty strong team. None of his top 7 are bad by any means and he has a really strong breaker/cleaner combo with ogerpon quaq. Offensively, dual stab spinner quaquaval should keep Habaduh on his toes and is checked only by the mence depending on tera and perhaps a phys def gking. Gking isn't the most reliable check given how strong sd quaq is quaq does have a pretty clear route to victory barring any resist berries or clever tech Habaduh has in store. Treads isn't the greatest into a tusk matchup, so it's probably looking to bring a support set or perhaps even mixed if it wants to catch the tusk on the switch. Shuca treads would be a good bring here for that as well as for the mence and even diancie. Defensively, Beardy should fear gren a lot, and might even bring a defensive set for either ogerpon or quaq. Despite how solid fire ogerpon would be (altho the mon always looks like that on paper it's broken), water ogerpon would be a great check to prevent any gren sweeps Habaduh can try. Otherwise, he could try av torn or at least bulky and try to keep rocks off with his treads. Water ogerpon still puts great pressure on Habaduh's team with the mence once again being the best check. Getting past the mence will likely be Beardy's key to victory. The rest of his mons can have fairly standard sets with overqwil intimidating and poison fishing and mesprit being a general defensive check to mence tusk.

Overall, I favor Beardy given his stronger team in general but Habaduh does have the tools to make his tera mons or even his tusk shine in this matchup.
