[SET COMMENTS]

Corviknight's fantastic typing, ability, and bulk make it the best Defogger in OU. It can switch into Excadrill, Skarmory, and Hippowdon safely and clear any entry hazard they set up with Defog while also stalling out Stealth Rock and Spikes PP with Pressure. Corviknight checks many other threats such as Rillaboom and Clefable, which it can also capitalize on to remove entry hazards. Roost keeps Corviknight healthy throughout the match and can be used to stall the PP of moves like Dragapult's Hex. U-turn allows Corviknight to pivot into one of its teammates against bad matchups. Even uninvested, Brave Bird is a decently powerful attack, 2HKOing Rillaboom and Urshifu-S. Brave Bird also prevents Volcarona from switching in freely, as it gets OHKOed after a small amount of chip damage. Body Press can be used over Brave Bird to 2HKO Excadrill and make it more difficult for Hydreigon, Magnezone, and Bisharp to switch in safely. Iron Head is another option worth considering to 3HKO Hatterene, but it's inferior to Brave Bird and Body Press. 28 Defense EVs allow Corviknight to always survive +2 Rillaboom's Superpower and OHKO it in return with Brave Bird.

Corviknight should be used on balance and stall teams that require entry hazard removal or a Rillaboom and Excadrill check. Kyurem in particular benefits from Corviknight's ability to remove entry hazards and can assist it in PP stalling with its SubRoost set. Corviknight has poor matchups against Electric-types, so it appreciates partners that can check them; Ground-types such as Gastrodon and Quagsire should be wary of Toxic, but they are still good switch-ins to Rotom-H, Magnezone, and non-Grass Knot Zeraora and also greatly appreciate Corviknight's ability to check Rillaboom. Grass-types such as Rillaboom and Tangrowth can check Zeraora as well as Rhyperior, which Corviknight otherwise struggles removing entry hazards against. Excadrill can freely set up against Corviknight if it doesn't run Body Press. Rillaboom, Crawdaunt, and Choice Scarf Ditto can be brought in safely with U-turn and revenge kill Excadrill, making them great teammates.

[SET COMMENTS]

Corviknight can use its great typing and bulk to become a fantastic wincon for balance and stall teams. It can use Bulk Up against Rillaboom, Hatterene, and Excadrill and sweep late-game once its checks and counters have been weakened. Corviknight can still contribute early-game, checking Alakazam and Scizor and using Pressure and Roost to stall out the opponent's PP. Taunt is the preferred option in the last slot, as it shuts down opposing bulky setup sweepers and prevents Corviknight's boosts from being removed by Haze or Whirlwind. Substitute is also an option to avoid getting burned, giving Corviknight a better matchup against Toxapex. The given EV spread allows Corviknight to outspeed uninvested Skarmory and cripple it with Taunt before it has a chance to set up Spikes.

Electric- and Steel-types should be eliminated before trying to sweep with Corviknight. Magnezone can trap and eliminate Steel-types such as Skarmory and opposing Corviknight, while Gastrodon can counter Rotom-H, Magnezone, and non-Grass Knot Zeraora. Furthermore, both Magnezone and Gastrodon can lure in Ground- and Grass-types, respectively, which Corviknight can take advantage of. While Corviknight can find multiple opportunities to set up, its damage output is poor even after multiple boosts. Additionally, Corviknight is susceptible to getting burned by Scald if running Taunt. Entry hazard support from from Rhyperior and Ferrothorn can alleviate Corviknight's low damage output, while Heal Bell support from Blissey and Clefable can give Corviknight another chance at sweeping should it get burned. Defensive Clefable in particular is a fantastic partner; in addition to providing Heal Bell support, it can also set up Stealth Rock and remove Volcarona's and Rotom-H's Heavy-Duty Boots with Knock Off.

QC would prefer if this was max spdef; given the recent rise of hatterene and aegislash, special defence investment is invaluable, particularly because you don't need physical bulk to take on rillaboom. I'd prefer it if Iron Head was slashed before Brave Bird but since I haven't brought that up w/ QC, you'll have to wait for the next person to stamp this to verify that.

Roost keeps Corviknight healthy throughout the match and can be used to stall the PP of certain moves, like Urshifu's Wicked Blow. I don't particularly like this example given that corviknight generally can't afford to pivot into shifu to begin with (particularly now that most shifu have started running bu); perhaps replace this w/ something like Dragapult's Hex, Alakazam's Focus Blast or either of sub Kyurem's Ice moves U-Turn allows Corviknight to pivot into one of its teammates in bad matchups. Even uninvested, Brave Bird is decently powerful attack, 3HKOing Kommo-o, 2HKOing Rillaboom, and Urshifu, and OHKOing Hawlucha after a small amount of chip damage. ok this is just too long; please make this a lot more concise than it currently is Brave Bird also prevents Volcarona from switching in freely, as it gets OHKOed after a small amount of chip damage. Protect is another good utility option, giving Corviknight additional Leftovers recovery and stalling out PP from the opponent's attacking moves. ok no to taunt and protect; corvi already struggles to fit all the moves it ideally wants, and dropping those moves means that you're opening up a lot more offensive counterplay.

The EVs allow Corviknight to survive +2 Bisharp's Knock Off after Stealth Rock and one turn of Leftovers recovery and KO it with Body Press. Corviknight can use its great typing and bulk to become a fantastic wincon for balanced and stall teams. It can use Bulk Up against Rillaboom, Alakazam, you definitely can't reliably set up in front of zam; replace this with Hatterene and Excadrill and sweep in the late-game once its checks and counters have been weakened. Corviknight can still contribute in the early-game, checking Alakazam and Scizor, preventing entry hazards from being set up with Taunt, and using Pressure and Roost to stall the opponent's PP. Substitute is also an option to help Corviknight stall out the PP of attacking moves, such as Urshifu's Wicked Blow and Dragapult's Fire Blast. this isn't the reason you're running sub on corvi; it's so that you can 1v1 toxapex without being burnt, which is something that taunt can't do. U-Turn is another option to consider to grant Corviknight more pivoting utility in the early-game and escape from Magnet Pull Magnezone. remove this, it's never worth it

I'd like to see some mentions of salazzle here as a partner for substitute sets given that it lets corvi beats pex 1v1 without having to rely on taunt. Some mentions of spikes would be lovely too.

Corviknight's fantastic typing, ability, and bulk make it the best Defog user in OU. It can switch into Excadrill, Skarmory, and Hippowdon safely and clear any entry hazards they set up with Defog while also stalling out Stealth Rock and Spikes PP with Pressure. Corviknight checks many other threats such as Rillaboom and Clefable, which it can also capitalize on to clear entry hazards away. Roost keeps Corviknight healthy throughout the match and can be used to stall the PP of certain moves, like Dragapult's Hex. Body Press can be used over Brave Bird to 2HKO Excadrill and make it more difficult for Hydreigon, Magnezone, and Bisharp to switch-in safely.

It's worth mentioning Iron Head here due to Hatterene's recent resurgence.

Corviknight should be used on Balance and Stall teams that require entry hazard removal or an Alakazam and Excadrill check. Rillaboom is absolutely worth noting here; it's much more prominent than Excadrill or Alakazam right now. Regenerator Pokemon such as Toxapex and other Pokemon with pivoting moves such as Zeraora and Blissey appreciate Corviknight's ability safely switch them in with U-Turn. Honestly, I think that the synergy being pointed out here is pretty weak. Kyurem benefits from Corviknight's ability to remove entry hazards, and can assist Corviknight in PP stalling with its SubRoost set. Corviknight struggles removing Stealth Rock against Rhyperior, so Grass-types such as Rillaboom and Tangrowth are good partners. They bring a lot more than just this to the table, though. You should definitely add that they're good checks to Zeraora. Ground-types such as Specially Defensive Hippowdon and Quagsire can check Electric-types such as Zeraora and Magnezone, as well as Volcarona. One of Corviknight's biggest weakness is its susceptibility to Electric-types; this should be mentioned earlier to reflect that it is a priority to make up for that while building. Rotom-H is worth adding too. I also don't think they're particularly notable or effective Volcarona checks.

One thing that I think is really important to point out, is that you really need a different Excadrill check if Corviknight isn't running Body Press. Ditto, Rillaboom, and Crawdaunt are especially notable because you can switch into Corviknight and use U-turn to switch into one of them, which can keep Excadrill in check very effectively.

Corviknight can use its great typing and bulk to become a fantastic wincon for balanced and stall teams. It can use Bulk Up against Rillaboom, Hatterene, and Excadrill and sweep in the late-game once its checks and counters have been weakened. Corviknight can still contribute in the early-game, checking Alakazam and Scizor, preventing entry hazards from being set up with Taunt, and using Pressure and Roost to stall the opponent's PP. Taunt is the preferred option in the last slot, as it shuts down opposing bulky setup sweepers and prevents Corviknight's boost from being removed by Haze or Whirlwind. Substitute is also an option to avoid getting burned, giving Corviknight a better 1v1 matchup against Toxapex.

The EV spread allows Corviknight to outspeed uninvested Skarmory and Taunt it before it has a chance to set up Spikes. This should be moved to the above paragraph. Electric-, and Steel-types should be eliminated before trying to sweep with Corviknight. Magnezone can trap and eliminate Steel-types such as Skarmory and the opponent's Corviknight, while also luring in Ground-types which Corviknight can take advantage of. If running Substitute, Salazzle is a great partner because it can poison Toxapex, giving Corviknight a much better 1v1 matchup against it. The main issue with this is honestly the fact that Salazzle oftentimes won't even get to poison Toxapex, due to the huge usage of Blissey on the same teams that use Toxapex. I'm not convinced that this is worth a mention. Corviknight appreciates Stealth Rock and Spikes support to weaken its checks. This should be less generalized. What checks does it help weaken? What Pokemon are notable setters? Rhyperior can set up Stealth Rock, check Electric- and Fire-types, and lure in Grass-types for Corviknight to set up on. Defensive Clefable is also a great partner, being able to setup Stealth Rock, remove Volcarona and Rotom-Heat's Heavy Duty Boots with Knock Off, and check Urshifu-Single-Strike, which would otherwise bypass Corviknight's Bulk Up boosts with Wicked Blow. Urshifu-S isn't such an issue that makes this worth noting.

Heal Bell users like Blissey and Clefable need to be mentioned; Taunt variants often get burned by Toxapex. I would also like to see Gastrodon mentioned, as it is one of the best Pokemon at shutting down Electric-types entirely.

Corviknight can still contribute in the early-game, checking Alakazam and Scizor and using Pressure and Roost to stall out the opponent's PP. Taunt is the preferred option in the last slot, as it shuts down opposing bulky setup sweepers and prevents Corviknight's boost boosts from being removed by Haze or Whirlwind. Substitute is also an option to avoid getting burned, giving Corviknight a better 1v1 matchup against Toxapex. The EV spread allows Corviknight to outspeed uninvested Skarmory and Taunt it before it has a chance to set up Spikes.

Electric-,(RC) and Steel-types should be eliminated before trying to sweep with Corviknight. Magnezone can trap and eliminate Steel-types such as Skarmory and the opponent's opposing Corviknight, while Gastrodon can counter Rotom-H, Magnezone, and non-Grass Knot Zeraora not running Grass Knot. Furthermore, both Magnezone and Gastrodon can also lure in Ground- and Grass-types, respectively, which Corviknight can take advantage of. While Corviknight can find multiple opportunities to set up, its damage output is poor even after multiple boost boosts. Defensive Clefable in particular is a fantastic partner.(RP) In ;(ASC) in addition to providing Heal Bell support, it can also set up Stealth Rock and remove Volcarona Volcarona's and Rotom-H's Heavy Duty Heavy-Duty Boots with Knock Off.

(AP) Kyurem in particular benefits from Corviknight's ability to remove entry hazards and can assist Corviknight it in PP stalling with its SubRoost set. Corviknight has poor matchups against Electric-types, so it appreciates partners that can check them; Ground-types such as Gastrodon and Quagsire should be wary of Toxic, but they are still good switch-ins to Rotom-H, Magnezone, and non-Grass Knot Zeraora, (RC) they and also greatly appreciate Corviknight's ability to check Rillaboom.
