[SET]
name: Physically Defensive
move 1: Stealth Rock
move 2: Scald
move 3: Toxic
move 4: Recover
item: Rocky Helmet / Leftovers
ability: Regenerator
nature: Bold
evs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
[SET COMMENTS]
Corsola is a great Stealth Rock setter due to its dual recovery in Regenerator and Recover, allowing it to have the best longevity of any entry hazard setter in the ZU metagame. Corsola's typing and access to Regenerator allow it to pivot into and wall common physical attackers such as Persian, Galarian Linoone, and Swords Dance Silvally-Ice and punish them with Rocky Helmet. Toxic is used to cripple common switch-ins such as Gourgeist-L, Shiinotic, and Whiscash as well as bulky entry hazard removers such as Vullaby, Wartortle, and Vibrava. Leftovers can be used over Rocky Helmet to increase Corsola's already great longevity and decrease the likelihood of 2HKOs from Pokemon such as Choice Scarf Stonjourner.
Corsola fits on balance and stall builds, where its fantastic recovery and physical bulk allow it to reliably keep Stealth Rock up for its teammates throughout the game. Special attackers such as Beheeyem, Silvally-Ice, and Raichu all pressure Corsola out, so special walls such as Klang, Dusclops, and Lickitung are greatly appreciated. Grass-types such as offensive Gourgeist-L, Bellossom, and Shiinotic are also a problem for Corsola, so Grass-resistant Pokemon such as Vullaby, Klang, and Vespiquen are good teammates. Despite its bulk, Corsola is still threatened by physical attackers such as Grapploct, Krokorok, and Machoke, so Pokemon such as Shiinotic and defensive Gourgeist-L are great partners. Corsola isn't that bothered by Knock Off and has a great matchup versus Persian and Galarian Linoone, which is useful for Eviolite-holding teammates like Ivysaur and Hippopotas that would otherwise be crippled by Knock Off.
