After a boost, it is able to survive moves such as Shadow Ball from Choice Specs Aegislash and stomach attacks such as Nidoking's Thunderbolt and Salamence’s Hurricane. Scald helps Slowking threaten switch-ins such as Tapu Bulu and Hydreigon with burns, especially the former. Psyshock helps against Chansey, opposing Slowking, Calm Mind Primarina, and Galarian Slowbro. Colbur Berry improves Slowking's matchup against Conkeldurr and Krookodile, though it still has watch out for Facade from the former if it's below 66% HP.

Calm Mind Slowking fits best on balance, semi-stall, and stall teams as a wincon that maintains crucial defensive utility against Pokemon such as Mamoswine and Azelf. Nihilego and Chansey are useful Stealth Rock setters that check Thundurus-T and Hydreigon. Nihilego is more offensively potent and provides Knock Off support to cripple Aegislash, whereas Chansey has more longevity and can also provide cleric support instead of setting Stealth Rock. However, while teams using Calm Mind Slowking want cleric support, keeping Slowking burned helps it set up in front of Chansey and Swampert without fear of Toxic. Quagsire provides an Electric immunity and checks Pokemon like Swords Dance Aegislash and Belly Drum Azumarill. Its Haze support also alleviates Slowking's matchup against Calm Mind Reuniclus. Defensive Salamence and Skarmory are great assets for their ability to answer Grass-types like Zarude and Tapu Bulu while providing Defog support. They also ensure that Slowking does not get overwhelmed by foes such as Conkeldurr and Swords Dance Excadrill. Umbreon provides additional insurance against Mamoswine and Energy Ball Azelf while having the option to provide Wish support. It also enjoys Slowking's ability to set up on threats such as Cobalion and Keldeo. Calm Mind Slowking can have problems against Teleport Slowking, which can bring in Pokemon that threaten it such as Hydreigon. As such, SubTox Aegislash is amazing for its ability to pressure Slowking and wear down Hydreigon with Toxic while forcing Zarude to waste Jungle Healing's PP.

Nihilego and Chansey are useful as Stealth Rock setters that check Thundurus-T and Hydreigon. Nihilego is more offensively potent and provides Knock Off support to cripple Aegislash whereas Chansey has more longevity and provides cleric support for Slowking. not on the same set as SR it doesn't, make this clear that its an alternative option for it not running both at same time. The knock value is great onto chansey too since its making your psyshocks sting a lot more. Quagsire works as an Electric-immunity and checks Pokemon like Swords Dance Aegislash and Belly Drum Azumarill. Quagsire's Haze support also alleviates Slowking's matchup against opposing Calm Mind users like Reuniclus. this is really the only cm user you actually have issues with, while slowking is really good vs glowbro instead. probably reword this slightly. Defensive Salamence and Skarmory are great assets for their ability to be a primary answer to check Grass-types like Zarude and Tapu Bulu while providing Defog support. They also ensure that Slowking does not get overwhelmed by opponents such as Conkeldurr and Swords Dance Excadrill. Umbreon also enjoys Slowking's ability to setup on threats such as Cobalion and Keldeo. Mention SubTox aegi as one of its best friends too. it really works so well together cause like it doubles up on win cons and gives you the option to overwork through something like zarude more easily due to its limited jungle healing PP, helps you presure through stuff like hydreigon too, and pressures tport slowking sorta cores that can easily get threats in on cm slowking safely without risk of scald burns or chip.

We don't do a true "usage tips" section anymore but one thing I think would be very valuable to throw a mention somewhere in here about is how its very useful to try and absorb scald burns with cm slowking if you are facing something like a chansey or subtox aegi + slowking sorta teams, not being able to be toxic'd makes you able to break through stuff you wouldn't physically be able to otherwise. Imo this could be thrown in with the cleric support for Slowking mention, how it likes to absorb status if possible to avoid being toxic'd but this is valuable if it can't avoid it. Can also comment on the fact this cleric support is valuable for later game stuff because slowking will probably want to try and weaken aegislash etc at the cost of being toxic'd, lets it do this freely while opening up an unstatused late game for it.
