Latios (M) @ Soul Dew

- Calm Mind
- Draco Meteor
- Luster Purge
- Thunderbolt / Recover / Ice Beam

[SET COMMENTS]
Calm Mind Latios is a strong sweeper on Psychic teams by virtue of its Speed, access to Soul Dew, and great movepool. In addition, it provides a Ground immunity thanks to Levitate. Draco Meteor is a powerful nuke that allows Latios to remove the likes of Sableye and bulky Gouging Fire, and when boosted with Calm Mind, it can OHKO physically defensive Archaludon and potentially 2HKO Alolan Muk. Luster Purge is a strong Psychic-type STAB move that can potentially 2HKO Gholdengo. Thunderbolt gives Latios coverage that takes out Flying- and Water-types such as Corviknight and Empoleon, 2HKOing the latter after a Calm Mind boost. Recover can be used over Thunderbolt to grant Latios longevity, giving it more opportunities to sweep. Ice Beam can be used as well, and it is especially effective against slower Dragon-types, such as Garchomp and Dragonite, to remove Latios's need to switch out after using Draco Meteor. Ice Beam can also surprise the likes of both Landorus formes and Gliscor.

Deoxys-S is a great sacrificial lead by virtue of its Speed, access to both Stealth Rock and Spikes, and ability to prevent Defog with Taunt. Offensive variants of Deoxys-S, such as Choice Specs and Nasty Plot sets, can also clean late-game once Latios is finished wallbreaking. Hatterene can prevent entry hazards being placed thanks to Magic Bounce, and with its Fairy typing, it can switch into a predicted Dragon-type attack that would threaten Latios. Hatterene is also able to run Nuzzle to paralyze Pokemon that are faster than Latios, and it can support the team with Healing Wish. In return, Latios is able to threaten Corviknight and Empoleon with Thunderbolt. Latios gets easily outsped and forced out by faster Pokemon such as Dragapult, Meowscarada, and Greninja; hence, it appreciates speedy teammates that can deal with them like Choice Scarf Latias for Dragapult and Choice Scarf Iron Boulder for Meowscarada and Greninja. Gholdengo and Hatterene easily hinder any sweeping attempts from Latios, so checks to them, such as Hoopa-U and Iron Crown, make for great teammates. Choice Scarf Hoopa-U is also able to outspeed and threaten the likes of Flutter Mane and Spectrier, while Iron Crown appreciates Latios KOing Garchomp for it. Indeedee is another great teammate that provides a Ghost immunity as well as support with Healing Wish. Gallade is able to anticipate Sucker Punch from Kingambit and remove it with Upper Hand, and it can handle the likes of Hisuian Goodra, Alolan Muk, and Blissey. Slowbro and Galarian Slowking are two great defensive partners for Latios, with the former tanking attacks from Choice Band Excadrill as well as spreading paralysis with Thunder Wave so Latios outspeeds faster Pokemon. On the other hand, Galarian Slowking can wall out Iron Valiant and remove it with Sludge Bomb while acting as a slow pivot with Chilly Reception and an entry hazard setter with Toxic Spikes. Both Slowbro and Galarian Slowking can also wall Ceruledge after they use their Eject Button or Chien-Pao and Kingambit when they're using a Colbur Berry.

Shadow Ball is an alternative that allows Latios to surprise would-be checks such as Gholdengo and Hatterene that can switch into its STAB moves. Psyshock is another option that can be used to target Pokemon that are bulky on the special side but frail on the physical side, OHKOing Volcarona and Frosmoth after one Calm Mind boost. Psychic Noise can deal with Primarina. Dragon Pulse is another option for a Dragon-type STAB move that is more accurate than Draco Meteor and does not require Latios to switch out after using it.

(Add luster Purge after u moved the ice beam sentence and the downside.) Thunderbolt is great coverage that takes out both Flying- and Water-types such as Corviknight and Empoleon, the latter being 2HKOed after a Calm Mind boost. Recover can be used over Thunderbolt to grant grants Latios great longevity, giving it more opportunities to sweep.(Whats the downsides of opting in recover for tbolt?) Ice Beam is another option that can be used especially against slower Dragon-types such as Garchomp and Dragonite so that it doesn't need to switch out after using a Draco Meteor.(Mention the downside of running Ice Beam over Draco Metor; missing out on key Koes on Gouging Fire, Hoopa, etc. also move this before talking about Thunderbolt. Also the landos forms and Gliscor hates beams too! >:( ) Shadow Ball is another option that allows Latios to surprise would-be checks such as Gholdengo and Hatterene that can switch into its STAB moves. (Move this to other options)

Iron Crown appreciates Latios removing Garchomp in return. Indeedee is another great teammate, being able to set up Psychic Terrain to both further boost Latios's Psychic-type attack while also preventing revenge-killing attempts from the likes of Slither Wing and Kingambit. (Latios does not benefit from psychic terrain due to levitate, its not grounded. You can just talk about indeedee being Ghost immune + h wish support for Latios.) Slowbro and Galarian Slowking are two great defensive partners for Latios, with the former being able to tank stomach attacks from Choice Band Excadrill as well as spreading paralysis with Thunder Wave, so Latios outspeeds would-be faster Pokemon, while Galarian Slowking can wall out Iron Valiant and remove it with Sludge Bomb while acting as a slow pivot with Chilly Reception.
  • Add Choice Scarf Iron Boulder, taking out Meow, Gren and Kleavor for Latios is huge
  • Add Gallade, taking out Hisuian Goodra, Kingambit, Ttar and Blissey for Latios is nice as well
  • Add Psyshock in other options if not mentioning it running Luster purge. Nice to Ko to Quiver dance volc and frosmoth at +1
  • Add Psychic Noise in OO, being able to 1v1 Primarina is funny

Implemented, although i chose not to add mentioning luster purge since talking about a psychic attack on a psychic analysis feels kinda fluff, im also not mentioning downsides of any of the main slash moves since that might dissuade readers to use said move

Calm Mind Latios is a strong sweeper on Psychic teams by virtue of its Speed, access to Soul Dew, and a great movepool. In addition, it provides a Ground-type immunity thanks to its access to Levitate. Draco Meteor is a powerful nuke that allows it to remove the likes of Sableye and bulky Gouging Fire, and when boosted with Calm Mind, it can OHKO physically defensive Archaludon and non-Choice Scarf Hoopa-Unbound (weird, since scarf doesnt really factor in why it wouldnt die. Can mention how it heavily chunks Alomuk tho). Ice Beam can be used over Draco Meteor that is especially effective against slower Dragon-types such as Garchomp and Dragonite so that it doesn't need to switch out after using a Draco Meteor, as well as surprise the likes of both Landorus formes and Gliscor (reword. DM shouldnt be dropped ever and it still chunks lando/glis). However, running Ice Beam over Draco Meteor also means missing out on removing the likes of Gouging Fire and Hoopa-U. Thunderbolt is great coverage that takes out both Flying- and Water-types such as Corviknight and Empoleon, the latter being 2HKOed after a Calm Mind boost. Recover can be used over Thunderbolt to grant Latios great longevity, giving it more opportunities to sweep.(Mention cool luster purge interactions though, such as potentially beating ghold if it swaps in when you're at +1)

Deoxys-Speed is a great suicide lead by virtue of its Speed, access to both Stealth Rock and Spikes, and its ability to prevent Defog thanks to Taunt (can also use NP/ Specs to clean up once Lati wallbreaks). Hatterene can prevent hazards being placed thanks to Magic Bounce, and with its Fairy-typing, it can switch into a predicted Dragon-type attack that would threaten Latios. In return, Latios is able to threaten Corviknight and Empoleon with Thunderbolt (hatte also has nuzzle to make things more awkward with cuno, and would have H.Wish too). Latios gets easily outsped and forced out by faster Pokemon such as Dragapult, Meowscarada, and Greninja; hence, it appreciates speedy teammates that can deal with it like Choice Scarf Latias for the former and Choice Scarf Iron Boulder for the latter two. Gholdengo and Hatterene easily hinder any sweeping attempts from Latios, so checks to them such as Hoopa-U and Iron Crown make for great teammates (Hoopa if using Scarf also takes care of Spectrier and FM which just make latios cry). Iron Crown appreciates Latios removing Garchomp in return. Indeedee is another great teammate, being able to provide a Ghost-type immunity as well has longevity support with Healing Wish. Gallade is able to live a Sucker Punch from Kingambit from full and take it out (Has upper hand), as well as Hisuian Goodra, Tyranitar, (not relevant rn, exerts pressure on Alomuk tho) and Blilssey (mispelled). Slowbro and Galarian Slowking are two great defensive partners for Latios, with the former being able to tank attacks from Choice Band Excadrill as well as spreading paralysis with Thunder Wave so Latios outspeeds would-be faster Pokemon (can also wall Ceruledge if you're using a consumable item, or Kingambit/Pao if berry), while Galarian Slowking can wall out Iron Valiant and remove it with Sludge Bomb while acting as a slow pivot with Chilly Reception (also sets tspikes).

Latios (M) @ Soul Dew
Name: Calm Mind (Psychic)
Ability: Levitate
Tera Type: Dragon
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Calm Mind
- Draco Meteor
- Luster Purge
- Thunderbolt / Recover / Ice Beam

[SET COMMENTS]
Calm Mind Latios is a strong sweeper on Psychic teams by virtue of its Speed, access to Soul Dew, and great movepool. In addition, it provides a Ground-type immunity thanks to Levitate. Draco Meteor is a powerful nuke that allows it Latios to remove the likes of Sableye and bulky Gouging Fire, and when boosted with Calm Mind, it can OHKO physically defensive Archaludon and potentially 2HKO Alolan Muk after a Calm Mind boost (redundant). Luster Purge is a strong Psychic-type STAB move on Latios (implied) that can potentially 2HKO Gholdengo. Thunderbolt gives Latios coverage that takes out both Flying- and Water-types such as Corviknight and Empoleon, 2HKOing the latter being 2HKOed after a Calm Mind boost. Recover can be used over Thunderbolt to grant Latios longevity, giving it more opportunities to sweep. Ice Beam can be used as well, and it is especially effective against slower Dragon-types, such as Garchomp and Dragonite, so that it doesn't to remove Latios's (explaining why, not introducing new following idea, so no "so") need to switch out after using a Draco Meteor. (add space) Ice Beam can also surprise the likes of both Landorus formes and Gliscor.

Deoxys-S is a great suicide sacrificial lead by virtue of its Speed, access to both Stealth Rock and Spikes, and its ability to prevent Defog thanks to with (would need a comma before thanks to which makes things awk) Taunt. Latios gets easily outsped and forced out by faster Pokemon such as Dragapult, Meowscarada, and Greninja; hence, it appreciates speedy teammates that can deal with them like Choice Scarf Latias for the former Dragapult and Choice Scarf Iron Boulder for the latter two Meowscarada and Greninja (shouldn't use former and latter when more than two things). Gholdengo and Hatterene easily hinder any sweeping attempts from Latios, so checks to them, such as Hoopa-U and Iron Crown, make for great teammates. Choice Scarf Hoopa-U is also able to outspeed and threaten the likes of Flutter Mane and Spectrier, while Iron Crown appreciates Latios being able to KO KOing Garchomp in return for it (not in return for anything imminent). Indeedee is another great teammate that provides a Ghost-type immunity as well as longevity support with Healing Wish. Gallade is able to anticipate a Sucker Punch from Kingambit and remove it with Upper Hand, and it can handle the likes of Hisuian Goodra, Alolan Muk, and Blissey. Slowbro and Galarian Slowking are two great defensive partners for Latios, with the former being able to tank tanking attacks from Choice Band Excadrill as well as spread spreading paralysis with Thunder Wave so Latios outspeeds faster Pokemon. On the other hand, Galarian Slowking can wall out Iron Valiant and remove it with Sludge Bomb while acting as a slow pivot with Chilly Reception and an entry hazard setter with Toxic Spikes. Both Slowbro and Galarian Slowking can also wall Ceruledge after a consumed they use their Eject Button or Chien-Pao and Kingambit when they're using a Colbur Berry.

Shadow Ball is an alternative that allows Latios to surprise would-be checks such as Gholdengo and Hatterene that can switch into its STAB moves. Psyshock is another option that can be used to target Pokemon who that are bulky on the special side but frail on the physical side, OHKOing Volcarona and Frosmoth after one Calm Mind boost. Psychic Noise is another option to be able to can (avoiding "another option" repetition + condensing) deal with Primarina. Dragon Pulse is another option for a Dragon-type STAB move that is more accurate than Draco Meteor and does not require Latios to switch out after using it.
