[SET COMMENTS]

Carvanha is a good wallbreaker and late-game cleaner thanks to its high Attack, Speed Boost, and almost unresisted STAB combination, outspeeding many fast Pokemon like Abra, Diglett, and Choice Scarf Porygon after a Speed boost. Flip Turn lets Carvanha pivot out against Pokemon it can't OHKO like Mienfoo, Pawniard, and Porygon while still wearing its foes down. Crunch hits a majority of the metagame for at least neutral damage. Psychic Fangs is important coverage against Mienfoo and Poison-types like Foongus and Koffing, allowing Carvanha to OHKO them after Knock Off or prior chip damage. Protect guarantees a Speed Boost activation and blocks Fake Out and First Impression from Pokemon like Mienfoo and Trapinch, respectively. 9 HP IVs give Carvanha 1 HP recoil from Life Orb and 36 Special Defense EVs make Porygon's Download boost its Attack rather than its Special Attack.

Carvanha's frailty means that it benefits greatly from teammates that switch into its checks well. Koffing is a fantastic partner, as it switches very well into Mienfoo's and Grookey's attacks, and its Neutralizing Gas negates Mienfoo's Regenerator, helping Carvanha wear it down. Larvesta is also a great switch-in to both, punishing them with Flame Body, and can pivot Carvanha in safely with a slow U-turn. It also helps against Ferroseed and Pawniard. Trapinch traps and revenge kills non-Protect Grookey with First Impression, and it can take out Pawniard or a weakened Ferroseed with Superpower. Natu checks Ferroseed, Foongus, and Mareanie, forcing them out and pivoting Carvanha in safely. Knock Off support from Mienfoo, Ferroseed, and Pawniard can remove Eviolite from Mienfoo and Poison-types to let Carvanha OHKO those threats. Entry hazard support from Dwebble and Ferroseed wears down Pokemon that can usually take a hit from Carvanha, like Mienfoo, Foongus, and Ferroseed, with the latter also checking Porygon.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]

=============
Liquidation is stronger than Flip Turn for hyper offense teams, where Carvanha doesn't need to pivot as much. Waterfall can be used over Liquidation for the chance to flinch. Aqua Jet picks off weakened threats without needing a Speed boost. Destiny Bond over Protect lets Carvanha eliminate a counter such as Ferroseed and Foongus, letting a teammate like Grookey sweep teams. However, losing out on Protect leaves it extremely vulnerable to First impression and Fake Out. Substitute can ease up prediction, but it forces Carvanha to lose out on coverage. Carvanha can run a special moveset to have a better matchup against Pawniard, but it has to use Hydro Pump for STAB, making it unreliable.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Priority**: Priority attacks such as Timburr's Mach Punch and Grookey's Grassy Glide force Carvanha out without letting it use Flip Turn. Other priority users such as First Impression Trapinch and Fake Out Mienfoo forces Carvanha to use Protect, letting smart opponents double switch on the Protect into a teammate that threatens Carvanha out.

**Ferroseed and Pawniard**: Ferroseed can take a few hits from Carvanha and weaken it down with Iron Barbs. Pawniard can take Carvanha's hits but can be worn down by repeated Flip Turns.

**Bulky Foes**: Mienfoo, Foongus, and Mareanie have high physical bulk and take on Carvanha well, but they all must worry about Psychic Fangs and are OHKOed without Eviolite. They also have to worry about Flip Turn into Koffing, which blocks their recovery from Regenerator.

Carvanha is a good wallbreaker and late-game cleaner, pressuring defensive Pokemon like Frillish and Slowpoke with its almost unresisted STAB combination outspeeding many fast Pokemon like Abra, Diglett, and Choice Scarf Porygon after a Speed Boost (I would talk about how its Attack stat and Speed Boost make it a good wallbreaker/cleaner instead of talking about specific mons, since Carv's role is to sweep and not check specific mons (probably split into two sentences)). Flip Turn lets Carvanha pivot out against switch-ins like Ferroseed and Pokemon it can’t OHKO like Mienfoo, Pawniard, and Porygon to avoid taking a hit while still wearing the opposing Pokemon down (Carv would probably rather Crunch Ferroseed, Flip is mostly for the 2nd scenario). Liquidation is a stronger more powerful (makes it sound less like the strictly better option, but maybe I'm biased) alternative on more hyper offense teams where it doesn’t need to pivot as much and can 2HKO Pawniard (most Pawniards are now Berry Juice, against which Flip Turn is better). (probably add a sentence about Crunch, which is basically its main STAB when having Flip Turn and hits most of the metagame for at least neutral dmg) Psychic Fangs is important coverage against Foongus, Koffing, Mareanie Mienfoo and Poison types such as Foongus and Koffing, allowing Carvanha to OHKO them after Knock or some chip. Protect guarantees a Speed Boost, blocks High Jump Kick, (rarely relevant since Mienfoo can U-Turn) and protects it from priority such as Fake Out and First Impression from Mienfoo and Trapinch respectively. 9 HP IVs give Carvanha 1 HP recoil every turn from Life Orb, helping its longevity (Carv doesn't have longevity, probably say allows it to dish out more hits before being worn down). (if no Def investment was for Porygon, probably mention it here, although I don't think it matters much; I would still put the EVs by default tho)

Carvanha's frailty (could also say it has little to no defensive utility) means that it needs defensive teammates to it benefits from having teammates that switch into its checks well (I wouldn't say Carv absolutely needs defensive teammates by definition). Koffing is a fantastic partner, as it switches very well into Mienfoo and Grookey's attacks, while its Neutralizing Gas blocks both Mienfoo's Regenerator, helping Carvanha wear it down and Grassy Surge (it usually doesn't block Grassy Surge, and it's irrelevant anyway). [Move Larvesta sentence here since it's similar to Koffing] Trapinch traps and revenge kills non-Protect Grookey with First Impression and can trap and take out Pawniard or a weakened Ferroseed for Carvanha with Superpower. Larvesta is also a great Mienfoo and Grookey switch-in, punishing it them with Flame Body, and pivoting can also send Carvanha in safely with a slow U-turn. (could mention other pivots that can send in Carv safely too) It also handles Ferroseed. (you could remove this or add Ferro to Mienfoo and Grookey above, since Koff and Larv also both check Ferro) (Could add a sentence here about how Pokemon with opposing Steels as common checks with Carvanha can have offensive synergy to break through them, like Abra or Porygon) Entry hazard support from Dwebble and Pawniard Ferroseed (would put Ferro over Pawn for access to spikes, since rocks don't do much to Ferro/Pawn and Mienfoo) wears down Pokemon that can usually take a hit from Carvanha, like Mienfoo, Ferroseed and Foongus, with the latter removing Eviolite and also checking Porygon. (I would add a separate sentence for Knockers like probably Foo Pawn Ferro, earlier in the paragraph, since they knock Foo/poisons a lot and enable Carv to get much more OHKOs)

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]

=============

Waterfall can be used over Liquidation for the chance to flinch. Substitute can ease up prediction, but Carvanha has to give up Water STAB or Psychic Fangs, letting Foongus and Mareanie much more easily losing out on coverage. Carvanha can run a special moveset to have a better match up against Ferroseed and Pawniard (I don't think this is true, since you have Crunch for Ferro and Flip for BJ Pawn), but Staryu outclasses it in that role due to its higher Special Attack, higher bulk, and better utility as a Water-type special attacker with its better bulk and coverage options (you can probably not talk about Staryu and just that Carv doesn't gain much from a special set, and more importantly loses access to Flip Turn).

Checks and Counters
===================

**Priority**: Priority attacks such as Timburr’s Mach Punch and Grookey’s Grassy Slide Glide halt sweeps from Carvanha force Carvanha out, without allowing it to Flip Turn. Other priority such as First Impression from Trapinch and Fake Out from Mienfoo forces Carvanha to use Protect, but a smart user would double switch on the Protect into a teammate that threatens it out.

**Grass-types**: Ferroseed's and Foongus's high defenses let them take on Carvanha well, but the latter must worry about Psychic Fangs. Grookey outspeeds and OHKOes it. (I would say Ferro can take 1 or 2 hits from Carv while racking up Iron Barbs damage that wears Carv down, Foongus can tank any hit if its Eviolite is intact but can't easily switch in, and Grook forces Carv out with Glide outspeeding is irrelevant)
(you can also consider changing this Grass types to Bulky Pokemon, since you've already talked about Grookey and Ferro and Foon check Carv with their bulk anyway. That could allow us to include stuff like Foo, Mareanie, Koff, and stuff)

(Add Trace Porygon as a check by itself, it copies Speed Boost, tanks Carv's attacks with ease and threatens to revenge and become a sweeper itself)

Sorry if I wrote too much LOL, hopefully it still makes some sense. Again, please implement only what you like from my suggestions!

Mienfoo, but Staryu outclasses it in that role due to its higher Special Attack, higher bulk, and better utility. It also doesn't gain much from it, and also loses out on Flip Turn, (I switched some things around here, since pfangs lets physical carv with Foo more reliably than special carv can, and being worse than physical carv is more relevant than being worse than Staryu, which functions pretty differently despite being a strong Water)

**Trace Porygon**: Trace Porygon can tank any of Carvanha's attack and copy its Speed Boost, forcing it out and becoming a sweeper itself.
(Trace Porygon is not strong enough to sweep unless your team is half-dead already)
